Athena walked along, holding Coda's hand. She couldn't believe how much the girl had already come to mean to her. It had only been a short time, and Coda was already beginning to feel like her own daughter. "Coda is such a pretty name," she commented. "You said you made it up yourself... how did you think of it?"

"It just came to me one day, I was saying the wolves names just to see if I remembered them all and it came to me." Coda said as she continued to look at all the shops.

"Well, it's a lovely name," Athena said. She looked down at Coda and saw her looking at the shops. She wondered if it was weird for her. "Did you know it's a real word, too? It's used in music. I don't imagine you've really heard a lot of music, have you?"

"No.. only the birds, grasshoppers, crickets and the howls of my other family. I use to wake up at the sound of birds singing, well they are really talking to one another." Coda looked up at Athena. "Did you know that? When a mother bear roars she's just calling for her young or telling someone to go away. And when birds sing they are talking to one another, I use to watch the baby birds hatch and call for their mother to feed them." She smiled, she had learned alot about animals while being raised by wolves. And idea sparked in her head. "I can call a bird, I raised her when she fellt out of her nest, and you know mother birds wont take a baby bird back once a human touches it."

Athena smiled. "Well, that's real music," she said. "Much more beautiful than anything we can ever come up with. When we make music, we're really just trying to recreate what nature does better. But still, human music can be lovely, too. It can be happy, or sad, or angry... people use it to express themselves, just like the animals do. I'll have to play some music for you sometime." She looked up and noticed that they were just in front of the shoe store. "Well, here we are," she said. "Ready to go in?"

"Uh huh." Coda said nodding, she was use to being barefoot but now she was with humans she needed to wear shoes.

Athena smiled. "OK, let's go." She gave Coda's hand a little squeeze, then led her into the little shoe store. After looking around for a minute, she headed over to a display of tennis shoes. "What do you think of these?" she asked.

Coda looked at the shoes and saw some light blue ones. "I like those!" She said pointing at them. They reminded her of the sky outside.

Athena smiled. "OK, those look nice," she said. She looked down at Coda's feet, and, with a wave of her wand, conjured a magical ruler that floated down to measure for the shoe size. "Ah, it looks like you are a size 4," Athena said. She scaned the boxes for a size 4 and finally pulled one out. "OK, sit down there, and we'll try these on."

Coda sat where Athena told her to and waited to see how the shoes went on.

Athena knelt down in front of Coda and slipped one shoe onto the girl's foot, then began to tie it. "It will be more comfortable with socks, but how does it feel now? Can you move your toes?"

Coda moved her toes and smiled. "Yeah, I can and it feels good." She tilted her head to the side as she looked at the shoe.

"Good!" Athena said happily. "They look very good on you. We'll get these, and why don't we go over here and pick out a few pairs of socks, while we're at it?"

"Ok." Coda said smiling, she was happy she had a mom with the wolves she didn't have a mom. "Will I be allowed to wear them out of the store?"

Athena nodded. "Yes, you definitely can," she replied. She felt a beam of pride as she saw how happy Coda was with her new shoes. "OK, so here are the socks," she said, pointing to a wall lined with small hooks that had socks of all different colors, patterns, and lengths hanging from them. "Do you see any that you like?"

Coda looked at the socks and saw a pair that had wolves on them, the wolves were running around the socks by magic. "Those." She said pointing at the socks. The color of the wolves reminded her of Tis.

Athena smiled and took the socks from their hook. "I think those are perfect," she said. She handed them to Coda. "OK, let's go pay for these now. Where do you think you want to go after this?"

Coda took the socks and smiled at them, these wasn't going to be wore on a full moon, nor was her shoes. "Maybe get some clothes?" She asked looking up at her.

"OK, that sounds good," Athena replied. She led Coda to the register. The woman behind the counter looked at the items and said, "That will be 15 galleons, please."
Athena counted out the coins, then bent down to hand them to Coda. "Would you like to give them to the lady?" she asked.

Coda shook her head and hid shyly behind Athena, she still wasn't use to being around humans and she was shy around strangers.
