(For Sean, Damon, Hayden, T, and Nathalia.)
Sean shoved his hands further in the pockets of the jacket he was wearing. His mother bought it for him, and it kept him warmer than most cloaks ever did, so he usually favored it. Plus, it made him look sharp, like he stepped straight out of the 40's.
He was standing outside Stu's, willing to hex anyone who wanted to make him sing once inside. He was waiting for the boys, since they all but forced him here tonight. And naturally, he was the first to arrive. He suspected Damon chose this place due to the busty blonde bartender. As long as he didn't have to sing, he didn't care.
It had only been a couple of days since he told his father about his ability, but Daniel had forced two good nights sleeps out of him. He still looked spread too thin, but the dark circles under his eyes were gone, and there was some color in his cheeks again.
He felt guilty being here though, and someone needed to show up soon, or he would leave and go back to the office.

Hayden dressed in his usual muggle clothing when he wasn't working. He grabbed his cloak, since it was still chilly outside as it grew later. Part of him didn't want to go to Stu's but the other part of him wanted to go. He hadn't seen Nathalia since he walked her home that night. Hayden did want to see her again, but he wasn't sure how things were going to be. However, Nathalia might not even be working that night. Who was he kidding? Of course she was going to be working that night.
The main reason he was going tonight, however, was for his friends. They really did need a night out together since their lives sort of kept them apart. Walking up to Stu's, Hayden took a deep breath. He noticed that Sean was already standing out there. "Hey Sean," he said walking up to his friend. "Good to see you made it."

Sean glanced up, hearing Hayden's voice, and a small smoke touched his lips. "Hey. You know I'd never hear the end of it if I skipped this."
He was teasing, though it was true. Damon, especially, would have drug him tooth and nail out here if he had to. Hayden looked a little uneasy. The fact That Sean was observant enough to notice this was a testament to the sleep he had gotten recently. "You all right? You look as excited to be here as I am."

"That's true. Damon would have found you and dragged you here by your shirt collar," he said with a laugh.
At Sean's observation, Hayden gave a small shrug. "I'm fine," he said. It wasn't as convincing as Hayden wanted it to be. Sean probably knew him a little better than Damon and T knew him, but then again it was somewhat obvious he was a little uneasy.
"It's just been a long day. I'm just ready to relax a little bit tonight." Hayden changed to topic away from him and turned it to Sean. "It looks like you've had plenty of sleep lately. Things been going good?"

Sean's eyebrow went up. Fine was never a good thing, but he was all too aware of the role a 'long day's could take, so he didn't press the matter.
Besides, his answer to Hayden's question was as much of a lie and they both knew it. "Yeah, things are all right."
He smiled, making him look years younger. "Ha... you tell me why you're uptight, and I'll tell you why I'd rather be at the office right now." He didn't know if Hayden would tell him, but it was an easy way for Sean to call them both out on their lies.

T carried a stack of books through the library and dropped them on the closest table. A cloud of dust rose from them and tickled his nose. Making a face, he waved his hands at the dust, clearing the air before he felt the urge to sneeze again.
The clock struck and it echoed in the building. T paused, his hand on the cover of an Ancient Runes book. He was supposed to do something tonight...
"Oh hell," he swore under his breath. He was meeting the guys at Stu's. Well at least it wasn't far. He quickly pulled out his wand and waved them at the stack, making them zoom off around the library and back to their proper shelf spaces. T rushed out of the library without his coat and locked the door. It wasn't until he reached the bar and saw Sean and Hayden that he noticed that it was freezing outside.
"He...Hey guys," T stammered as he rubbed his bare arms. He looked between the two of them and raised his eyebrows. "Rough day?" he could just feel a bit of tension coming from the both of them. He looked for the fourth member of their quartet and back at them. "Where's Damon? What did he do now?" T asked, thinking maybe whatever was off was about their absent friend.

Leave it to Sean to call him out on his lie. He smiled at his offer. Of course, Hayden hadn't told anyone about Nathalia yet. He didn't really want to mention anything, however, because he didn't really have anyone to mention it to. He didn't want to mention it to Roland because he remembered the funeral, and then there was also the fact that Roland had a lot of stuff to worry about as it was. Liam, well, Hayden could tell him, but he didn't want to burden his little brother with other things. Sean was usually working. Of course that left T and Damon. Hayden didn't want to mention it to Damon because goodness knew he would get called out in the middle of Stu's.
"I think you might be able to figure that out for yourself tonight," Hayden said, knowing that he couldn't lie to Sean. He was going to say something else, but T appeared. He smiled at T's arrival. "Hey T," he greeted his friend. "Eh, it's been a long day as usual. As for Damon, he hasn't appeared yet. You know he's always late."

Yes, it was a bad habit of Damon's to be late for most things. Even he couldn't say exactly why, except that it was probably a case of having nothing to do and all day to do it. He'd be lounging by the pool and would fall asleep, or he'd be at a bar and would get drunk, forgetting what he had to do.
Today, however, he was late for a different reason. He'd received an owl from his new employer, Marcello Santino, and something about it felt.... weird. Apparently, he was supposed to meet up with one of the man's "associates" for a "mission."
He thought he was just going to be a glorified errand boy.... and now he was having missions? Strangely, Sean's joking words to him popped back into his head... maybe you're in the mob.
No, that couldn't be it. Right?
Anyway, he was supposed to meet the guy tomorrow at some warehouse. And as far as Damon knew, nothing good ever happened at a warehouse. So he was a little nervous and lost track of time. As soon as he remembered where he was supposed to be, though, he hid the letter in his sock drawer and apparated over to Stu's. He would worry about the letter later... tonight he was determined to have fun, and make his friends have fun as well.
"Hey, guys," he said, approaching them. "Sean, Hayden, I'm glad you could make it! And T... good to see you, man. You smell like books."

"Have I ever smelt any different?" T asked with a shrug. They may have all been Ravenclaws together, but T was the groups bookworm. As long as there was no dust from the library on his face, T was doing a-okay. "Good to see you too Damon. Hows that job of yours? Find any horse heads in your bed?" The last time they were together, the boys had joked about Damon's new job being kinda shifty and mob like.
But not even Damon could get himself wrapped up in something as ridiculous as the mob.
T shivered again. "Can we go inside now?"

Damon managed an awkward sort of laugh. The other three would know him well enough to know that something was wrong, but he didn't want to go into it just now. After all, he wasn't sure he was in the mob... it was just a weird feeling he had. He had to be wrong, though, right? People didn't just accidentally find themselves in the mob... did they?
"Funny," he said. "Let's get inside, OK? A few drinks will warm you up... especially if the hot blonde barmaid's working. I keep asking her out, but she won't go out with me... maybe she'll like you, Hayden. I hear she likes Aurors."

Something seemed to be going on with three of the four boys. T always seemed like he was in his own world without any problems. Hayden envied that sometimes. The way Damon was acting, he wondered if he had to do anything with his new 'job', but Hayden wasn't going to press the matter just yet. Maybe after they had a few drinks something would come out to fill in the blanks.
At the mention of the blonde barmaid, Hayden whitened, but it was barely noticeable. He laughed and rolled his eyes. There was a reason why he hadn't mentioned what had happened just yet. Opening the door, he motioned for the boys to start moving inside.

Sean, too, thought something was strange with all of them But T. Leave it to T to be the dependable one .... what irony.
Shrugging his shoulders and shoving his hands deeper in his pockets, he followed them inside, deliberately nudging Hayden in the process. He was going to get it out of Hayden by the end of the night.
He was the first to scout a table near the back for the group, barely even noting That the blonde barmaid was indeed there.

Hayden didn't even look toward the bar once they entered Stu's. He followed Sean instead and headed toward the table he had picked. This table happened to be the exact table that Hayden sat at before.
He did feel the nudging from Sean as they walked to the table. Of course Sean would more than likely figure it out before the rest of them. Hayden didn't want to be teased about any of it. Sean wouldn't really tease him about it, but it would be Damon who would. He was used to Damon's teasing and he usually just let it roll off, but this time, this would make Hayden turn ten shades of red.
He gave Sean a look that said he'd tell him more later as he took his seat.

It was an almost painfully slow night, and Nathalia was just willing the doors to open.
When they did, she cursed herself for that wish. She knew two of the four boys by name. Damon, who flirted with her and made her laugh.... and Hayden. She sighed, flashing the group a smile. "Hey boys... just give me a shout when you know what you want."

Damon, oblivious to anyone else's discomfort for the time being, grinned and waved at Nathalia. The evening would be more fun with her around.
"Oh, good, she's in," he commented. "Oh.... wait! Crap... I've got to think up a funny drink name. It's our thing... I come in and order something really wacky, and she throws something together for me. Um... let's see... I think last time it was the Angry Frenchman. How about... uh, a Flaming Scotsman? No... sounds kind of... you know...." He trailed off, frowning.
He was definitely off his game tonight. And if he was out of sorts, it didn't bode well for the others, who were all significantly less outgoing than he was. He needed to be "up" in order to keep them from sinking into doldrums. It was the one thing he was good at. Usually.
"Ok...how about... Atomic Thunderbolt? Sounds intense, right?"

Sean frowned at Damon and shook his head. "Or how about Desperate Wanker?" he suggested, eyebrows raising more because even he wasn't sure where that healthy dose of sarcasm came from. The sleep his brother had forced on him definitely made sure he wasn't as subdued as he had been, that was for sure.
He offered Damon an apologetic smile, though he knew Damon would take it for what it was- a playful comment. Besides, didn't he mention that the girl kept turning down his advances?
Sighing, he leaned back. "All right, I know I'm the worst of us right now, but we can't mope all night. Let's get started on these drinks, if we must."

Before he was actually able to get a decent look around, he heard her voice. Part of him wanted to go talk to her alone, but he had no idea what he would say. Plus, there was also the fact that he would probably get teased and Hayden wasn't ready to be teased just yet.
He was in his own thoughts for a moment until Sean spoke. Hayden let out a laugh and shook his head. "Sounds fitting," he said looking to Damon, just to tease him a little. He would joke around and tease from time to time.
"I'm with Sean. Let's go ahead and have a round."

"Ha, ha, very funny," Damon said, rolling his eyes, although the smile never left his face. Truthfully, he was rather glad to see Sean acting a little more like his old self again. He really did seem better. Hayden was still distracted, but Damon was confident that a few drinks would loosen him up.
"You know I'm all for ordering some drinks," he continued. "T, you ready? Oh, hey, I just thought of the perfect drink name..."
Yes, maybe it was time to give up the game, especially since it didn't seem to be working. But Damon didn't like to give up so easily. It was just about the only trace of the Dearborn pride that he'd managed to inherit.

Sean just smiled and looked up, making eye contact with the pretty blonde behind the counter. He almost felt bad for referencing her like that in his head, but what else was he supposed to do? Still, he wondered how many people thought of her as "that pretty blonde." He waved her over. While she was walking towards the table, he leaned towards Damon. "Hey, what's her name?" He was sure Damon knew it, after all.

Nathalia made her way to the table, forsaking her pad and quill at the counter. She didn't need it, especially for a group that small.
She remembered Hayden's drink last time, and was almost tempted to ask if he'd like another, but she couldn't bring herself to do it. He made her feel self conscious and second guess herself, and she hated it. He rejected her... she wasn't required to pretend like it hadn't happened, even if she was.
"Did we decide on drinks?" She asked. "We have food, too, but the cook called in sick today and I'm a terrible cook, so I'd stay away if I were you."
