The guys were even cuter close up. Carley let Yvonne take the lead, but she let out a laugh when the dark haired one mentioned they could have summoned them. She couldn't help it. It was one of those more hilarious lines she had heard.
"I'm positive that would have worked," she said with a laugh and a slight sarcastic tone, but she was joking all the same.
"What are your names?"

Xander's smile widened. He always liked a girl who could laugh at one of his cheesy lines. A good sense of humor was very attractive in a girl, especially for Xander, who thought he was very funny.
Taking a sip from his glass, which he had brought over with him, he paused just slightly in order to give a certain air of mystery about him.
"I'm Xander," he said at last, setting down his glass on the bar, and holding out his hand to the brunette, who was closest to him. "Oh, and this is Issac. But you can call him Chuckles."

Yvonne gave a sort of spit-laugh at his cheesy line, and then sort of hid her face for a minute while she calmed down. By the time she looked up again, Carley seemed to be getting along famously with the dark-haired guy, so Yvonne turned her attention to the other one. He was very cute; quieter, but Yvonne liked that. She liked to be the funny one... if she were with the other guy, who had introduced himself as Xander, it would probably be a constant competition to see who could be funnier.
"Chuckles, huh?" she said, with a sort of smirk. "Well, nice to meet you boys. I'm Yvonne, and this is Carley."

Issac looked between both girls then settled on the blond one as she spoke to him. He rolled his eyes again when Xander gave him the nickname of Chuckles but then smiled when the girl called him that.
"Yes, apparently that's a new nickname from the clown here," he said with his smile widening. "It's nice to meet you two ladies as well." Issac knew that his and Xander's conversation after they left the bar was going to be interesting. "What brings you to the bar? Just a girls' night out?"

Yvonne laughed. These guys were going to be a lot of fun, she could tell already. This was just what she needed right now... A fun night and a few laughs with a cute guy. Soon she'd be able to forget for a while that Eddie would never want her, and that there wasn't a thing she could do about it.
"Oh, yeah... girls' night out. What about you two guys? Hoping to pick up a couple of hot chicks?" This last part was said sarcastically, with a playful twist of her lips.

Carley let out another small laugh. She held her hand out and shook Xander's hand. "Nice to meet you," she said. She was about to introduce herself, but then stopped herself before she said anything since Yvonne introduced them.
She took another drink from her glass. "Yes," she spoke after her friend. "Is it supposed to be a guys night out?"

Looking to Xander, Issac grinned, then looked back to Yvonne. "Something like that," he answered. "Well that's was sort of my intentions anyway." He then lowered his voice, "but I'm not so sure about his." Issac let out a laugh to let her know he was only kidding.
Tonight was going to be a lot of fun, especially if they had a couple of girls who would go along with them. It was always more entertaining and a lot less awkward when there were girls who knew how to have fun.

Yvonne laughed loudly. So he was cute and funny. But not funnier than she was, so it worked. Maybe she could finally end her dateless streak... but she didn't want to get her hopes up. She had a tendency to do that, and usually ended up with her heart broken. That was what happened with Eddie... she flirted and thought maybe there was a chance, and then found out that he was gay. And she didn't have a problem with that.... she just had been hoping for something different.
"Well, it's nice to meet you both," she said. "So, are you going to buy us drinks, or what?" She rattled her now empty glass with a playful grin on her face.

Xander continued to grin as he waved the bartender over to order refills of everyone's drinks. "They're on him," he added, nudging Issac pointedly and smothering a laugh.
"Oh, not exactly," he replied, turning back to face Carley. "I mean, guys don't exactly make special nights to go out. We just go and, you know... hang out. Just look for something fun to do... see where the night takes us. So far, I think I like where it's headed tonight..." He finished with a wink at Carley.

Issac looked to Xander and then rolled his eyes. "Drinks are on me," he said looking back to the ladies. Tonight started off to be a good night, now things were still turning for the best. As long as Xander didn't end up getting slapped by the end of the night, they could call it a great night.
"Not trying to sound cliche, but do you come here a lot?"

Carley couldn't help it, she let out another small laugh. Xander was charming, that she had to admit, and he was amusing.
"That's pretty much a guy's night out," she said with her small laugh. "You just call it something different. Girls do the pretty much the same, with the exception that we sometimes plan it out." Maybe she was going to wish she wasn't as giggly as she was tonight, she wasn't exactly sure what had gotten into her.
"Yes, tonight has be going in a pretty good direction." Carley placed a smile on her face.

Xander quickly pulled himself up onto the stool next to her and sat down, leaning one elbow against the bar as he turned to face her. She was very pretty, and he liked her playful nature. This evening was going to be a lot more fun than he had expected, after all.
"So tell me, Carley," he said, smiling broadly. "Where have you been all my life?"
Yes, it was cheesy. Xander was very good at being cheesy. And after all, what was wrong with a little cheese?

Yvonne laughed as Xander volunteered his friend to pay for the drinks. Issac was good-natured about it, though, and didn't try to back out or anything. She liked that. "Oh, well, in that case, maybe we should order a bottle of elderberry wine and move over to a table somewhere, so we can talk?"she said, winking at Issac.
"And hey, don't even worry about being cliche. It's cliche for a reason, after all." She leaned a little closer to him, giving off an unconscious signal that she was interested in him. "Actually, I really don't get out a whole lot. I work most nights... I'm a bartender at Enchanted."

Usually Carley didn't go for cheesy lines, however, with Xander she could make an exception. Cheesy seemed to go along with his personality and at least he used the lines at the right time and not just randomly.
"Oh you know," she replied resting her elbow on the bar, "here and there." She gave him a broader smile. "Maybe now was the right time we meet." Carley didn't really flirt all that often, but tonight was going to be an exception. She was having fun already. "Of course, it seems like it took to us too long to meet, yes," she asked in sort of a teasing tone.

"If you want it," Issac offered, "then get it. We can move over to one of the tables." Xander was already laying out his cheesy lines, but the girl was entertained so maybe that wasn't going to be a bad thing.
He leaned a little toward her as well. "That's a shame," he said honestly. "A bartender though?" Issac's eyebrows went up. "Well, I haven't been one that has been up for clubs but I'm willing to make an exception." He put on a smile.

"Nah, I'm good with this," Yvonne said, nodding to her drink. "But we definitely should get to a table, though. I know from experience, a bartender will listen in on interesting conversations when they're bored. And that guy looks bored." She nodded toward the bartender, who was watching them.
Taking the lead, Yvonne jumped down from the stool and began to walk over to an empty table nearby, reasoning that this way, they were close enough to the bar that if they needed drink refills, they could signal the bartender.
Taking a seat, she turned to Issac and grinned. "Anyway, the club's OK. I'm not much of a dancer, so I probably wouldn't go there if I didn't work there. But I like it there... I get to meet all kinds of different people. You know the Wrackspurts? They played there the other night. I met the lead singer."
She didn't add that the lead singer was now dating her hopeless crush.

Xander didn't notice right away that Yvonne and Issac were leaving. He was still too busy talking to Carley.
"Well, you know, my sister Maura--I have two sisters, by the way, they're twins--she would say that there's no such thing as a wrong time to meet someone. Although, actually, she's such a flirt that I kind of want to keep her locked up in her room until she's thirty." He laughed at this and shook his head.
"But anyway.... I'm glad we met tonight. Tell me about yourself. Now that you know I have two sisters... do you have any family?"

Like Xander, Carley didn't notice that Yvonne and Issac and gone off on their own yet either. She let out a laugh when Xander mentioned that he wanted to lock up his sister. "That could be expected from almost any big brother," she said teasingly. Carley never had any siblings, other than those that she grew up with in the orphanage.
"I don't really have any family," she admitted. Her smile faded a little. "I don't remember my parents, just the nice lady from the orphanage that raised me and the other children that were there. It wasn't that bad there. I grew up with a lot of little girls that I'd always called my sisters. There was a few little boys there I sort of considered as my brothers. So, I suppose I had about eight sisters and two brothers."

Xander's expression grew serious for a moment. "I'm very sorry about your family," he said. "But I am glad that you were raised by people who cared about you, at least. And even if you weren't technically related to those other kids, you were still bonded to them. That's pretty powerful, if you think about it. Do you still keep in touch with any of them?"
Xander had never really stopped to think about how he would feel if he didn't have his family. His parents had always been very supportive, and his sisters meant the world to him, even if he didn't see them all the time. He felt a sudden urge to visit with Amber and Maura.

"A few. Two of the girls thought that I was a freak after I accidently leviated her. She needed help to reach something high, and well I didn't know how to control it. It just happened. The whole incident was fairly funny because of the expression on the girl's face; however, after that moment, she didn't want to talk to me anymore. That's okay though, she was one of those girls who you don't really like. Of course after that, she started to tease me, but some how I was able to play a few pranks on her and she stopped."
Carley smiled. "The little boys that also lived there helped me a little. The girl looked like a cat that just came out of water after she walked right into the prank." She let out a laugh at the memory of the girl standing in the doorway, soaking wet. Sure, she didn't have her parents but growing up at the orphange wasn't all that bad.
"What house or houses are your sisters in in school? And what about you? What house were you in?"
