Issac rolled his eyes. "Correction, I don't want you to scare your date off with your bad dancing skills. My dancing skills are just fine thank you." He gave a grin to Xander to let him know he was only teasing.
"I will make a special trip to Accidental Magic Reversal Squad tomorrow and ask her out on that date. She might give in to my asking." Issac winked. "And you have to try to get Elizabeth to say yes to you. Hopefully she'll go easy on you."

"Hey, there's nothing wrong with my dancing," Xander protested. "You're just jealous that you don't have my smooth moves. I keep telling you, man, that's just not something you can teach. You either got it or you don't."
It was unlikely that Xander would ever win any awards for dancing, but what he lacked in rhythm and grace, he made up for in energy and enthusiasm. Once he started dancing, he didn't hold anything back, and so even if he looked ridiculous, at least he (and anyone with him) would have fun. Wasn't that the whole point of it?
"Oh, I'm sure it'll be fine. I've got it in the bag. She wants me, it's so obvious." He laughed loudly, then gave his friend a playful punch. "You're the one who's going to need luck."

"She could just be smarter than you think and just playing along with whatever you're doing." Issac gave him a wink. Of course, it was natural for him to give Xander a hard time and vice versa. They had been doing it since they became friends.
"And it might be easier than you think. Abbey might be willing to go out after I ask her. She might not need a lot of convincing. However, I might could talk her into one date. You never know about the quite ones." Issac smiled. He wasn't going to attempt to take advantage of Abigail in any way. He just wanted to ask her to dinner. The only reason he was gaining the courage to ask was because of Xander's proposal for dinner one night. He couldn't just his best friend hanging, plus it didn't hurt that the girl was cute.

Xander chuckled. "Yeah, and maybe Abbey will say yes to you, cause she feels sorry for you. I mean, after all, it can't be easy for you to have a handsome, studly friend like me, what with your ugly mug."
Of course, he was just joking. This was what they did, and it didn't mean anything. It was almost like their way of showing affection for each other--to see who could insult the other one more. But if anyone else were to say anything about one of them, the other one would defend him with fierce loyalty.
"Oh, and if we're going to Galligan's, make sure you don't order the spaghetti with meatballs again. You don't want to end up with most of it on your shirt, or have the meatball roll off your plate and into her lap."

"I can't help it if I can't really eat spaghetti right. The noodles are just really long, and it was just that one time." Issac gave Xander a look but then started laughing. "But I won't embarrass you by my eating. Now that so called smooth talking of yours needs to be worked on, especially if you're taking out a girl we work with on a daily basis. Sometimes those lines you lay out, are extremely cheesy."
He gave Xander a friendly, and gentle hit on the shoulder. "We don't want the big talker to really be the one who runs his date off."

Xander raised his eyebrows and pretended to look shocked. "My lines are cheesy?" he gasped, acting outraged. "If I recall, you were the one who tried to pull the old 'was your father a thief' line on that girl in Spellbound a couple weeks ago. I mean, really, that has to be the oldest line in the book."
Xander admitted that sometimes he liked to try cheesy pickup lines on the girls he flirted with. He could usually tell if a girl was going to be amused by a line like that or if he had to be more creative.
"But you are right about one thing... I do have to be careful with Elizabeth. We work with her, so if I mess things up, it could make for a very uncomfortable working environment. Do you have any suggestions? You work with her more often than I do."

"How many drinks did I have before I used that line? I can't help if alcohol influences what I say sometimes." Issac laughed. If he was alone, he wouldn't have a lot of courage to go ask a girl anything dealing with anything but work. However if Xander was there, it was a complete different story. It had always been that way.
At the mention of Elizabeth, Issac shrugged. "I dunno. She's sort of quiet at work, but not as quiet as she used to be. I think there's something there so don't lay it on thick Romeo. You don't want her to be creeped out or anything. When I say there's something there, I think something happened, but she obviously is not going to speak about it. Just be nice to her and maybe bring her flowers when you ask her to go to dinner. It could possibly increase your chances of her saying yes."

"You might have been pretty drunk," Xander agreed. "I'm not really sure, because I was pretty drunk myself. Come to think of it, I'm not entirely sure what I said to that girl I was flirting with, but it must have been bad, because I think she slapped me."
Frowning, he reached up and rubbed his cheek absently, trying to think of what he might have said to the girl that would have caused such a reaction. He vaguely remembered talking about Quidditch with her, and he mentioned how he used to play Keeper for the Gryffindor team back at school, and then he was talking about brooms... Oh, right. Now he remembered.
"Crap. I think I might have invited that girl to come back to my apartment and 'ride my broomstick.' Ugh... If I do get Elizabeth to go out with me, do me a favor and make sure I don't drink too much."

Issac roared with laughter. "No wonder she slapped you," he said as he finally took a breath from laughing. With a shake of his head, he took another drink from his glass. "I can promise I'll make sure you don't drink too much and embarrass yourself, mainly because we work with her."
Being around these two was never boring. They were always cracking up about something. Sometimes they could be the annyoing people that were the loudest people in the room. However, they did have fun, that was the main thing.

Xander shook his head. That had definitely not been one of his finer moments. He really was going to have to be careful how much he drank, especially if he hoped to impress a girl. He wasn't entirely responsible for the things that came out of his mouth when he drank too much. And Ike was right... if things went badly with Elizabeth, working conditions could become very uncomfortable.
"Yeah, thanks," he said. "And I'll do the same for you, too. We'll just keep each other in check. I somehow doubt Elizabeth and Abbey are the types who would appreciate cheesy pickup lines."

"We can't leave the girls being the responsible ones to take us home. They might even just leave us there or something." He let out a sigh. "So, don't worry, I'll make sure you don't drink too much and monitor your cheesy lines." Issac gave Xander a teasing look.
"Besides, maybe these girls will be a lot of fun and be just what we need." Abbey did seem like the quiet shy girl but then again she might have him completely fooled. After all, it was the quiet people you had to watch out for.
"And who knows, maybe you'll be able to go a night without using any insane lines or anything."

Xander scowled, looking insulted. "Not all my lines are cheesy," he said. "I only use the cheesy lines when I think the girl needs a laugh. Or when I'm really, really drunk."
Which was clearly what had happened the last time. Apparently, when he was really drunk, that was when the cheesy lines came out. But Elizabeth didn't seem the type who would be impressed by cheesy pickup lines, so he was going to have to watch what he said.
"Anyway, we'll just play it cool, and I'm sure it will be fun. Just as long as we're careful."

"Calm down Romeo. You're not going to be drunk, at least not when we take the girls out. I don't know about today, however. I'm not going to hold you back." Issac grinned before motioning for more in his glass.
At the mention of careful, his eyebrows went up. "Since when are we ever careful? Saying we will be is a lot easier said than done. We'll just make sure you don't drink too much, and everything will be okay. If it doesn't go very well, well we'll still have time before bars close up for the night." He looked jokingly at his friend.

"Oh, yeah, tonight doesn't count. Elizabeth's not here, so I'm not as worried about making an arse of myself," Xander agreed, nodding at the bartender, who was now standing in front of him with the bottle of firewhiskey.
He grinned at Issac's last suggestion. If things didn't go well with the girls, at least the guys could talk and laugh about it later. And if they did... well, they'd be talking about it the next day.
"I'll drink to that," he said, raising his newly-filled glass in the air.

Raising his glass, he laughed and then took a drink out of his glass. If things didn't go too well, they wouldn't be in a real good position to really talk about it, or at least remember that they talked about it.
Hopefully the night would go alright, but then again anything went when they were around. The only thing that Issac really needed to worry about was if the girls would say yes or not. He wasn't even sure how he was going to go about asking Abbey out. She was quiet and seemed to keep to herself and he didn't want it to appear awkward. Issac was going to make sure that Xander wasn't around when he asked her.
"And then we can talk about the night and then try to make it better, even if we don't remember the rest of it."

"That definitely sounds like a plan," Xander said. "But let's not assume things aren't going to go well. Who knows? Maybe it'll go well, at least for one of us. I think if we end up having a good night, we should plan to meet for drinks the next day. So we can talk about it, you know?"
After a good date, Xander liked to tell Ike all about it... just not all the gory details, of course. But Xander liked to go over the things he'd done right and the things he'd done wrong. Like a quidditch player would do after a game, so Xander liked to go over his dates afterward, so he could figure out what he could do again, and what he should never do again.

Yvonne didn't get out socially as much as she would have liked. Because she worked at the club, she was usually too tired to go out afterwards, and the last place she really wanted to go was to another club. She had enough of the whole scene just by working there. But she did try to go out to the occasional pub whenever she could. The atmosphere in the Leaky Cauldron was generally quieter than it was at Enchantment or Spellbound.
So when her friend Carley owled her and asked her if she would be free for drinks, Yvonne agreed quickly. She needed a little girl talk, anyway. Penny had been kind of quiet lately, and Yvonne always hated to burden her with her problems.
It always got worse for her when Eddie was seeing someone. Now that he was apparently seeing Nigel, Yvonne was hit once again with the hopelessness of being in love with her gay best friend. In her head, she understood it, there was still a part of her that couldn't help but think there must be something wrong with her that he couldn't love her. Yes, she knew exactly what it was that she was lacking, but it still hurt.
Yvonne walked into the pub, and made her way to the bar. Carley was supposed to meet her here, and she might as well wait for her at the bar.

It had been awhile since Carley had actually been out to enjoy herself. She needed some time out and it didn't hurt if she asked her friend Yvonne to go. It seemed that she hadn't talked to her in a long time so she decided to invite her friend for a drink whenever she was free.
She told Yvonne to just meet her at the Leaky Cauldron. It seemed like a safer place to meet. Carley didn't want to deal with gruby hands are too many wondering eyes. Noticing she was running a few minutes later than planned, she rushed off to meet her friend.
Arriving at the Leaky Cauldron, Carley looked around to find Yvonne. The blond wasn't hard to find as she was standing there at the bar already.
"Hello stranger," she said as she walked up next to her.

Yvonne hadn't ordered her drink yet, having become momentarily distracted by two guys sitting together at the opposite end of the bar. They were laughing and talking loudly, and they seemed to be having a pretty good time. And they were cute, too, as she couldn't help but notice...
The familiar voice behind her, however, caused her to turn away from the guys and look behind her. She broke into a wide smile, and leaned forward to give her friend a hug. Yvonne hugged everyone, and her friends were all used to it by now.
"Hey, you," she replied. "You look good. How've you been?"

She hugged Yvonne in return. A wider smile spread across her face. "Thank you. You look great yourself." Carley leaned against the bar a little. "I've been good. Just finding small things to do here and there, nothing too exciting. What about you? Work and everything still going good for you?"
Carley couldn't really remember how exactly her and Yvonne became friends, but that didn't really matter. What mattered was the fact that she felt like they had been friends forever. They were always there when the other needed them, and they were up for girl time whenever they were free. They could always count on the other.
