Hogsmeade Under Fire (THE ATTACK)

Sin cursed savagely using colorful words he never had before. Somehow Alyx had managed to escape them even though he firmly told her to go to Hogsmeade. He should have known, but the attack was throwing him off. He dreaded going back there, he dreaded seeing what he was trying so badly to forget but Alyx was down there and he owed it to her. Making his way back to the village he tried to be stealthy, he tried to stay out of the way he didn't want to attract any attention whatsoever.

Then he saw the mark in the sky and expelled a breath, he wasn't sure what that meant but after walking around for a while and not seeing anymore death eaters he assumed it meant their departure he began his search in earnest.

He found her about ten minutes later, she was unconscious but the way she was laying there tore at his heart and for a long moment he couldn't breathe, was she alive? The look of horror melted off his face and determination swept over him. "Alyx! Alyx wake up damn you! You're not dead!"

Alyx heard him and rolled her eyes in her unconscious state, was he ever doing anything but yelling at her? Finally she felt her shoulders being jerked so hard they were going to come out of their sockets and she moaned faintly but didn't wake up yet.

She could hardly feel him lift her but later she would bemoan the fact that she had spent all that time in his arms and wasn't even awake for it.

Dumbledore greeted Ms. Neves with an expression of sadness at what had clearly taken place here. After she explained where her partner had gone, he felt relieved, knowing that someone would be checking up on the school.

"Well, assuming this is over," he said grimly, "we must begin the sad task of rounding up the injured and the dead." He turned to Vincent and Angelique. "I understand some more members of the Magical Law Enforcement team are heading into town to help with this task, and to help put out some of the fires that are still burning."
