Blake smiled wickedly behind his mask. The weakening spell had done the trick, and so the spell that hit him barely had any effect at all. It caused only the faintest twitch. Even better, it would take a little while for the spell to wear off, which meant that the boy would barely be able to fight back. Even a shield charm would be weaker than usual.
Still grinning to himself, he pointed at the boy and uttered, "Crucio!"

Alastor looked up just in time to see another slender death eater enter the fray. Throwing his wand up, he barely blocked the incoming spell. The pain of losing Grace, was pushed to the back of his mind and he prepared himself for more death. Whether it be this death eaters or this own, Alastor was out for blood and he would get it, one way or the other. Snarling in response, he sent a shocking spell towards the new death eater, watching as his spell made it's way toward his target. Claudia practically yawned as she put up a simple shield charm. The "great" Alastor Moody couldn't do better than that? Perhaps everyone had overestimated him. She fired back with a burst of flames, followed by a trip jinx.

Frank was still frantically trying to figure out a way to get through the flames to Alice. He couldn't just leave her there alone. At the moment, his mind was clouded with possible things that could be going on inside that ring of fire.
He forced himself to stop thinking about that. Alice wouldn't want him thinking the worse things, she would want him to figure out a way to help her get out of there. What was the spell that put out fire? Frank tried to rack his brain for the answer. Aqua something...
Frank cursed under his breath and then pointed his wand at the flames. "Aqua Eructo," he said confidently. As the flames were being put out, he looked to Alice almost frantically. "Alice!"

The smoke and the heat had started to get to Alice. It was surrounding her, choking her, making it difficult to breathe or even move. She lay sprawled in the street, gasping for air. Even after the fire was put out, the smoke rose up even thicker and she began to cough heavily.
She heard a familiar voice calling her name, he seemed so very far away. Opening her eyes, she squinted through the smoke and saw Frank's face hovering just above her.
Licking her cracked lips, she whispered, "Frank..."
And then she lost consciousness.

He wasn't concerned with the death eater that was nearby. It seemed like she was pre-occupied at the moment anyway. Frank ran over to Alice as soon as he could. "Hey pretty girl," he said in a soft voice still trying to keep his voice calm.
Frank put a hand on Alice's cheek. "Hold on Alice," he begged her. He looked at the death eater with narrowed eyes before carefully picking Alice up. There were going to be too many students in the Hospital Wing at school. Frank decided that he was going to go to St. Mungo's instead. He knew that he should stay behind and help, but if he didn't do anything, Alice could be in worse condition that she already was.

Scarlette stumbled as she was pulled back, and it was enough to snap her out of her haze. Bek was a friend, she was trying to help, and she knew the Death Eater knew way more magic than she did. Jamie needed her. She looked and Bek and nodded, using a levetating spell on Jamie. "Thank you, Bek." Silently, she prayed that he was going to be all right. Mathieu finally arrived back in town, and immediately began looking for his lost family members. It seemed that the attack was starting to wear down, and instead of random chaos, there were small pockets of fighting gathered here and there. He wanted to stay and fight, but he was sent back with a specific mission: to find Jamie, Roland, and Suri. So far he had not seen any sign of any of them. But as he headed toward Honeydukes, he saw two girls gathered around a third person that was being levitated. An injured child. He couldn't turn away from that. He ran toward them, and as he did, he realized with a sinking heart that he recognized that injured child. "Jamie!" he cried as he ran up to the two girls. "That's my son... what happened to him?"

Caleb wasn't far away when he saw the flames surround Bellatrix and two other girls. Mistaking the situation he thought Bellatrix was in trouble and he ran past the fighting Death Eaters and Hogsmeade citizens to assist her. A boy only a few years younger than himself had put out the flames, and when they were extinguished he realized that Bellatrix was tied up and struggling to break free. He ran to her, ignoring the others that were around. He cut the ropes with a simple spell and then urged her to leave. "The others are leaving too. Let's go."

Bellatrix was shocked when another Death Eater came to her rescue, shocked and appalled. She hated having to rely on someone else, and once the other Death Eater was close enough Bellatrix was able to recognize Caleb's eyes through the mask. She groaned as he helped her up. She wouldn't hang around long enough to have to remember this moment of weakness. Bellatrix nodded to Caleb and the two of them disapparated.

Alastor snarled at the faceless death eater as she blocked his spell, of course he hadn't sent anything special but it never hurt to hope. Watching as she slipped a trip jinx in behind her flames, he quickly threw up a shield as the flames stopped inches from his body, following his shield he twirled to the side as the jinx flew by. Facing the death eater once more, he sent a stunner towards the death eater, followed by his own gout of flame.

Now that was a little more impressive. She still thought he was over-rated, but watching him dodge the second spell was fairly impressive, if highly annoying. She put up another shield to block the stunner, then, using the Reverso spell, turned the flames back around on him.
Laughing wickedly, she aimed a blasting spell to hit the ground in front of him--the impact would throw him backwards. Then she followed that spell with an electric shock curse.

That was by far one of the scariest things she had ever done in her life. Her! Little Alyx! Ragamuffin! Taking down a Death Eater. She knew however that the ropes wouldn't have held on long and searching her mind for something...anything else to throw at her while she was tied up but the fire was getting hot, too hot to breathe even, she put her arms up around her as the flames got higher and tried to see across where Alice and Frank were at. They were okay at least...thank Merlin, and Frank seemed to have put out the flames over where they were unfortunately the only way to get to them now would be to go right past Bella and that of course did not seem like a wise decision, a few more moments of this smoke inhalation though and she would black out much like Alice had.
Then an act of fate or perhaps something else saved her.

Alastor had to admit the obviously female death eater was definitely not a rookie to dueling. Yet, he was Alastor Moody and right now he was looking for his revenge, even if he had to carve it out of the hide of every death eater in Hogsmeade. Quickly throwing up a shield to block the flames, he was barely able to jump backwards as the blasting spell sent him flying parallel to the ground, landing a little harder than he had expected, he grit his teeth as the electric shock curse hit him full on. Mustering the last of his strength he knelt and jabbed his wand towards Claudia, "Crucio!"

Christian slid in between the buildings of Hogsmeade, a charm fired here and a curse fired there in front of the other death eaters was more than enough to make them think he was still on the team. Most knew his purpose for the Dark Lord was never one of outright brutality, he was an assassin, death in the shadows. So it wasn't odd to see Christian slinking around and even less odd to see him following a singular Gryffindor girl around.
Christian had done his research and Alyxandria Rye was of the right age and from what he had learned so far, if this wasn't his daughter then she could very well lead him to her. Watching as she interfered in a duel Bellatrix had gotten herself into, he continued watching up until it looked like Alyx had reached the limits of her skills and needed a bit of intervention. As the other two students disappeared and then the two death eaters disappeared, Christian ran for Alyx, his wand leading the way and water leaping from the tip dousing the flames when they touched.
As he approached Alyx, he grabbed the girl and held her tightly against his body, to shield her from the smoke. Racing towards a quiet alley, he dropped Alyx and fought off the urge to stay and talk with her. "You'll be okay now, be careful child..." As the last word left his mouth, Christian disapparated with a loud crack.

Alyx was close to blacking out when he came out of nowhere and saved her life, but...he was one of them!
She was so terribly confused and pushed at him, although she was very weak from the smoke and couldn't do much about fending him off, she was certain he had some nefarious plan for her and it terrified her to think that this could be the end. Why hadn't she listened to Sin? Why hadn't she gone to the castle!?
At least in a way she was happy that she had helped Alice escape, and that had been her goal, to help other students...now it would seem that it was to be her last goal. Then without a reason she could find he dropped her and told her to be careful before he left. She blinked a few times and then passed out. She was safe from harm the death eaters were leaving, she would be found soon and she knew that she was safe, it was alright to close her eyes.

It was a weak curse, since Moody was not at his full strength, but it still hurt. Not that Claudia had any trouble with pain. Gritting her teeth, she fought against the power of the curse, embracing and enjoying the pain while fighting against its ability to incapacitate her. While the full force of the spell still had her in its grip, she fired two curses at him. The first was a stunning spell, the second was a nasty spell, similar to a laser beam, that was powerful enough to drill a hole into a person's flesh.

Scarlette was so close to just breaking down. She was shaking as they were levetating Jamie back to the castle, and it was only because Bek had pulled her back that she wasn't probably dead on the street. It came with great relief when the man came to them... an adult, not wearing a mask. She was all too willing to put her trust in him. "He was attacked," she said, her voice wavering. "The Cruciatus. He feinted. Please help him..." If this was Jamie's father, it was probably the best person that could have found them.

Daniel shook his head sadly. "Keep fighting," he whispered to the young girl. "I'll meet you at St. Mungo's. I'm going to finish helping out around here. I should be at St. Mungo's in a little bit, but I'll make sure to help make sure you get out of here." He got to his feet and looked around. This kind of thing wasn't supposed to happen, especially with so many young ones. "Come on, let's get her out of here as fast as we can." Sean looked at his brother sharply. He did not like the idea of seperating from Daniel... how would he know if something happened to him? But the girl in his arms needed help, and Sean didn't think she had the time for him to argue. He nodded. "Be safe," he said, getting to his feet and holding the girl protectively to his chest. "We'll see you in a little while," he said, heading towards the door, careful not to step on any of the bodies as he looked outside. The battle seemed to be winding down, thank Merlin.

Jason didn't even notice that he had successfully disarmed the death eater, because all he heard was the killing curse. He reacted immediately. He ran towards her, jumping in front of her. "Justine--" he cried out, just before the curse struck him. He died even before he hit the ground. Justine was barely conscious, still recovering from the cruciatus curse, so she didn't understand what was happening right away. She heard the killing curse and Jason's voice calling out her name, but she just squeezed her eyes shut and waited for the killing curse to put an end to it all. Except that it didn't come. She waited a minute, trying to determine if she really was ded and just didn't know it yet. It was supposed to be painless, the killing curse, so maybe it had just happened so fast that she didn't feel the difference yet? But she still felt pain from the cruciatus curse. Surely if she were dead, she would not still feel pain. Slowly she opened her eyes, and was horrified by what she saw. Jason was lying flat on his back in front of her, his eyes staring blankly up at the smoke-filled sky. "No!" she cried. "It was supposed to be me!" Jadon faltered. It was the first time in his life that he didn't know what he was doing. He had just killed a student... someone he knew, someone his sisters knew. What if it had been one of them? No one would have given a thought before killing them, and was there a sister somewhere that wouldn't have her brother anymore? He wanted to throw up. Justine's words echoed in his head, and he thought that she was wrong... it shouldn't have been any of them. None of these students should be going through this. "Get out of here," he said, almost growling. He had his own need to escape, but he had to see her go first.

"Of course I will," Daniel said giving Sean a reassuring look. Daniel could look after himself and he was sure that Sean was too. He usually fought better alongside his brother, but he would be alright by himself.
"I'll meet you at St. Mungo's as soon as I'm done here. Promise." At least while Sean was at St. Mungo's, Daniel would know that he was safe. As Sean was leaving out the door, Daniel was right behind him, making sure that he and the girl got out of Hogsmeade safely.

Justine was still staring at Jason's body, her mind completely and utterly blank. Later it would occur to her what a noble gesture it had been for him to sacrifice himself for her and that maybe he really had loved her, despite the way he had always acted around her. But right now, her one and only thought was that he was somehow dead and she was alive. It seemed wrong, like some kind of mistake.
She barely even heard the death eater's voice when he spoke, but she looked up at him, confused. Was he telling her to leave? To run away? Was he seriously sparing her?
Instinct took over and she shakily got to her feet. With one last look at Jason's body, she turned and ran like her life depended on it.
