It was a cold and slightly windy day, the weekend after the First Task and she had been given leave to visit Hogsmede for the day. She was supposed to meet up with Frank for lunch, and she was in an exceptionally good mood. She had picked out a few things already in the village but nothing of great import. She still needed to pick out her dress though, and it was next on her list. Then she realized what time it was and headed off to see if she could find Frank. She wasn't late but she wanted to at least be on time.
Alice was wearing a pair of muggle jeans and a red sweater, followed by a pair of muggle sneakers. She had dressed for comfort and for the weather. There was no reason not to be comfortable if she could help it. She dashed across the street and walked into the Hot Panini for lunch, and looked around to see if Frank had beaten her there yet.

Frank was just going to meet Alice in Hogsmeade. He had a few things he needed to get done on his own, and then he was going to go to the Hot Panini to meet Alice for lunch. He had to admit, he was nervous. It was his first date and he wanted to make sure that he did everything right.
Once he finished up, he left Hogwarts quickly and went to Hogsmeade. He arrived a little early at the Hot Panini, but that was alright. Maybe he could calm his nerves. Frank was dressed in a pair of jeans, a button up shirt, and a nice, yet thick jacket that would keep him warm. The weather was perfect. He loved it when it turned cold.
He picked out a nice table, considering that it was nearly empty when he arrived. Frank kept his eyes on the door, awaiting Alice. A few other people came in, but he smiled as he saw Alice. His breath always caught slightly when he laid eyes on her. Getting up from the table, Frank walked up to her with his smile plastered on his face. He couldn't help himself.
"Hey Alice," he said letting out a breath he didn't know he was holding. He extended his arm out for her.

Alice smiled brighter as soon as she saw Frank walking towards her. She felt a bit weak in the knees for a moment. He was so handsome out of his school uniform and she could help but enjoy watching him. She was almost grateful when he took her arm though, she wasn't sure she'd be able to walk on her own with out, her nerves a bit on the high side. She'd never been on a date before. Even if it was just lunch, it was still a first for her and she was decidedly jelly legged at the moment from the combination of nerves and his smile on her.
"Hello Frank, I didn't keep you waiting long did I?"

"You haven't kept me waiting. I just got here a few minutes before you walked in," he responded. He led them both back to the table and he pulled out Alice's chair for her to sit down in. Frank only hoped that he was doing everything correctly. He leaned in and kissed her, which he had failed to do when he first greeted her, however now was alright as well.
He just made the kiss a quick one since they were out in a public place. There was no use putting a show on for everyone, and he didn't want to be kicked out of the place either. After Alice took her seat, he helped her move her chair up, before taking his own seat across from her. "How have you been today Alice?"

Alice didn't lessen her smile, she couldn't help but keep smiling as he was the perfect gentleman. And the kiss was unexpected too. She hadn't expected one at all in public but shew as glad he had. She felt all warm and giddy inside and she was happy.
"I've been good, actually I already got everything I needed except I still need to find a dress. I almost lost track of time though. I'm just glad I wasn't late. You look very handsome today by the way."

"I've got to find dress robes," Frank admitted. "I was hoping to maybe do that after lunch." Alice could always make him blush no matter what. "Thank you, and you look very pretty yourself. It would have been alright if you were late. I would have waited on you anyway." That was true. Frank would always wait on Alice no matter what. It was always worth waiting for her.
The waitress appeared at their table, asking for their drinks. Frank looked to Alice. "What would you like?"

"Pumpkin Juice of course," she laughed softly, it was her favorite drink and always made her feel like a little girl. She waited for Frank to order his drink before she turned back to him. "So would you like to help me narrow down my choices? Not that you get to see what I pick of course. But it would be nice to have an opinion." She didnt mind if he helped her, or if he saw her in them ahead of time. She had another surprise for him already planned and she was sure that no matter what dress she picked he would barely recognize her when she was done. Right now her hair was pulled back in a casual ponytail and as always no makeup.

"I'll have the same," he told the waitress with a smile and then looked back to Alice. "Sure. I don't mind helping you narrow down your choices. It won't take me that long to pick out dress robes. I already know my size and we don't have to go through and pick which color looks best on us." Frank gave her a teasing grin. Teasing Alice was something that would never get old.
"Although, I don't mind you going through the different colors and such. I'll be more than happy to wait while you decide as you try them on."

"What you don't want to pick between the pink and purple men's dress robes?" She batted her eyelashes teasingly. "And I would love the help, as long as you give me your honest opinion, I want to make sure I look my best for you. Besides you do know we are going to be one of the couples leading the first dance right? I hope you have been practicing." She winked playfully. She honestly had no idea how good or bad his dancing was, she realized. She'd never really danced with him before.

Frank laughed. "I think I'll just stick with the black and white ones." He gave her a wink. "And of coruse I'll give you my honest opinion. I wouldn't ever lie to you." Frank raised an eyebrow. "Seriously? Leading the first dance? I'm not to worried about it. I don't think I'm that horrible, but then again I haven't really danced. We should try it out to make sure I don't step on your feet. And then that would tell me if I needed practice or not, because I know that you'll be completely honest with me and tell me how bad I am."

Alice wondered if she'd end up with sore toes later but she laughed. "Of course I'll tell you.. I'm sure you'll know it when i start yowling my head off and walking funny or if I end up on my tush!" Her laugh was pure and full of life but still gentle with the love that came with it. "If not I might have to make you dance with McGonagall!"

"I don't think I could be that bad," he said slightly blushing. Frank's eyes widened. "You wouldn't. I mean McGonagall is nice and everything, but I just I couldn't. That would be just wrong!" He shivered at the thought. Sure, McGonagall was a cool woman, but he couldn't fathom putting his hands anywhere on her. Frank shook his head to shake the image out. "Don't put that image in my head again, please. That's just too disturbing." He gave her a smile. "I'll do my best to make sure I don't step on your feet."

Alice laughed, "If you bruise my toes I'll have no choice.. but I'm sure you won't need that will you?" she giggled but tried to use her most charming voice at the same time. "I'm sure you'll be fine, Frank.. I know you can do anything you put your mind to. And who knows, you might be a natural." She had a feeling he would be an exceptional dancer despite her teasing. And the though of him in black and white dress robes made her warm just thinking about how handsome he'd look in them.

"I'll try extra hard not to step on your toes, promise," he said with a grin. Maybe he wouldn't be as bad as he thought. Hopefully he wouldn't really need any practice, or at least any serious practice. "Maybe. We'll just find out later." Frank gave her a wink.
The waitress returned with their drinks. "Are you ready to order," she asked. Frank looked to Alice. "Do you know what you want yet?"

"hmm.. " Alice looked at the menu quickly before ordering. "I'd like the roasted chicken and tomato sandwich, please." She waited for Frank to order and watched him with a soft expression on her face. For a moment she was sure she had lost herself in her own thoughts watching him like some god as a shaft of sunlight came through one of the windows and was shining on the side of his face and hair. He was perfection in her eyes and it wasn't until he spoke to her again that she realized she'd been staring at him with a sense of adoration.

Frank looked over his menu while Alice placed her order. Once she was finished, he continued to look over his menu. He couldn't really decide what he wanted, however his eyes finally stopped on something. "I'll just have the Roast beef and Jack cheese sandwich," he said closing his menu before he decided to change his mind.
He looked to Alice and smiled after he handed the waitress their menus. "You know, the funny thing is, I was pretty nervous when I got here."

Alice came out of her little daydream and smiled, "You were nervous? about seeing me? why on earth would you be nervous ... I'm just the same 'ol Alice you've always known." Of course.. she'd been nervous too but that was besides the point.

"I know," he said. "But this is the first time I've ever been on a date, at all. Plus, you're my first girlfriend, and I don't want to mess that up." Frank swallowed what nervousness he had. It felt nice to finally call Alice his girlfriend. "Although, I have to say that things are going quite well." He smiled.

"I'm your girlfriend?" she felt butterflies in her stomach.. she'd not thought about that before. Sure he'd said he loved her and had kissed her... and they were on their first date... both of their first dates... but it hadn't occured to her that she'd be his girlfriend for some reason. It made her warm thinking about it. "your first?" that part took a few more moments to process.. of course she had not ever known him to have a girlfriend but once again that thought hadn't come to her either until he said it.

Frank blushed. He couldn't help it. He figured that since they were together now, he could tell her everything that happened with him when he was around her. "Yes, my girlfriend, and my first. Ever since I laid eyes on you Alice, I knew that you were different. It was like I was glued to you, I suppose. I never had eyes for anyone else. I never noticed what any other girl really looked like. I waited for you. This year, I couldn't take the wait anymore. Although, I think I should have went about it a little differently. The first time I kissed you wasn't an accident. I got scared afterwords. I shouldn't have, but I did."
