Lucius Malfoy had been very busy lately with his work for the Dark Lord, and had not had time to see any of his friends. It had even been a few weeks since he had seen his beautiful fiancee, Narcissa. So as soon as he had a spare night off, he sent around an invitation by owl to Cissa, Bellatrix, Rodolphus, and Rabastan to meet him for dinner at the little French restaurant in Hogsmeade.
He arrived first and secured their table, then ordered a round of hors d'oevres and champagne for when his companions arrived. It would be nice to catch up with them and find out what they were doing to help the cause.

Narcissa opened her bedroom's window to see an owl. She took the letter from the owl's leg and smiled as she read the familiar handwriting. Glancing at the time, she sighed. Her hair was a mess and she was in need of another shower before she left.
Settling on a black dress that the back was dipped down to mid-back, and matching shoes, she set to work on her hair. Make-up was not needed so that saved a little time. Leaving her hair curly and half of it pulled back, she left the school not bothering to wait on Rabastan.
Before walking into Le Repas Cher, Narcissa soothed out her dress and walked in. A gentleman at the door asked for a name and she simply replied Malfoy. He led her to a table and she thanked him as they arrived. "Lucius," she said happily.

Lucius stood up as she entered the room. At the sight of her flawless face and shining blonde hair, he broke in a rare smile. "Cissa, my dear, you look more beautiful than I remembered," he gushed, embracing her and kissing her cheek. "It's been too long since I've seen you. You know the Dark Lord's work is never done, but I confess I've missed you terribly. Please, sit next to me and tell me what I've missed since I've been away?"

Narcissa blushed as Lucius embraced her. "I've missed you too," she said taking the seat next to him. "You haven't really missed much of anything. Severus is still hanging around that Ravenclaw girl. I'm working on a way to break him of it. You remember my cousin Regulus. He's finally started Hogwarts, and I feel sure that he's a great addition to the house. Regulus has the right mind to do great things in Slytherin and make the Dark Lord proud one day. He is supposed to help me with getting the Slytherin house where it needs to be. Other than that, it's been quite boring without you and Bella there."

Lucius smiled proudly. "Oh, my dear, you've done such good work. It does my heart proud to see you so hard at work, keeping order as it should be at that muggle-loving school. I knew I was leaving things in good hands." Then he took both of her hands in his and kissed each one. "I am sure once I tell the Dark Lord of your good work, he will be more than ready to meet with you and accept you into his fold."

Bellatrix had received an invitation to dinner from Lucius, and knew all of her dearest friends would be there. This gave Bellatrix something to look forward to after spending time at Hogwarts with Professor Rothschild. This would be like a treat for spending the day with the vial woman.
Though she was already near Hogsmeade and the restaraunt when she was at the castle, she decided to head home first to primp, then return for dinner. Once home, Bellatrix had the difficult decision of what to wear. She hadn't seen many of her friends in a while, nor had she seen Rodolphus much and she knew he was to be back from work for the Dark Lord. She tried on multiple outfits, some a few times each, before deciding on a floor length robe, form fitting to her waist, and low cut at the chest. It was a dark purple color, and made of fine silk, with small black swirls embroidered on the edges. She wore her tallest black heels, which made her only a few inches shorter than Rodolphus. Her hair, as always, was worn in tight spirals, though she pulled most of it up into a ponytail, letting a few strands fall around her face. A dainty silver charm necklace hung at her breasts, a snake wrapping itself around a rose. Finding her appearance suitable, she apparated to Hogsmeade.
The host guided her to a secluded table where Bellatrix saw Lucius and Narcissa already enjoying each other's company. She found it odd that she was disappointed to see that Rodolphus had not yet arrived. She hoped he would join them shortly, and not just to save her from having to watch her sister and Lucius snog all night and talk about who's hair was more lush.
"Narcissa!" she exclaimed, grabbing her sister and wrapping her arms around her. "It's been too long. And with me working at the school now, too. I'm such a terrible sister. Forgive me." She held her sister at arms length and looked her over. She had gotten older and was looking more like a woman than a girl. Later Bellatrix would fret over how this made her look ancient in comparison. Turning her head she greeted Lucius with slightly less enthusiasm, but not much. "Lucius. I was so pleased to hear about your return. I trust all went well?"

Rabastan had to laugh at the dinner invitation he had received. If he was correct, he could guess who all had received one, and the comment about "whoever was unattached" was directed soley at him, considering his brother was seeing Bella, and her siste was with Lucius. Oh, what a tangled web they spun.
He had considered bringing someone, but ultimately decided not to. He could have picked up a date easily, but he didn't want to bring anyone to a dinner with friends. All attached as they were, they were all still friends, afterall.
So he would go solo, but that only meant he was free to flirt with a waitress or two, and that suited his style more anyway.
Rabastan was shown to the table where everyone but his brother were at just as Bellatrix had pulled Narcissa into a hug, leaving his eyes to fall first to Lucius in greeting. "It's been some time, Lucius," he said, joining them, waiting for the sisterly embrace to end.

Narcissa felt pleased with herself but before she could answer to Lucius, she heard Bella. It seemed that her voice was heard before she was ever seen, but it didn't matter. She smiled again at her sister's embrace and wrapped her own arms around Bella. "Bella! It's great to see you too, and of course you are forgiven! I could not hold it against you for I know that your work is important."
She pulled away from her sister and motioned to the chair next to her. "Sit beside me," she asked.

Rodolphus managed to get any from the fussy details of his days work and escaped. He had received the invitation from Lucius and assumed Bella would of gone with her sister, they were as yet unmarried and it would seem inappropriate for a lady to show up with a man on her arm. Not that it bothered him, he was beyond such convention and knew Bella also gave one wit as to the idea of men and women together before marriage, but what matter always and foremost was the appearance of things. He was sure he looked elegant and the ideal of a handsome male from his high born family. He entered the restaurant that Lucius had invited him to and spotted, not only his younger brother, but the Sisters Black and Malfoy. As he approached, a smile on his face, he noticed the last Black sister had yet to arrive.
"Ah my friends!" he said cutting across the small chatter at the table " My dearest and loveliest Bellatrix!" he took Bella's hand from the table and kissed it , inclining his head toward Narcissa. He then sat down next to Bella and said "I do hope I'm not too late" he said with a false sounding chuckle.

Lucius kissed Narcissa's hand, then stood up to greet his guests as they arrived. "Bellatrix," he said, nodding his blond head to her. "Yes, I'm doing quite well. I trust all is well with you?"
He didn't get to find out the answer to that question, because at that moment Rabastan entered and began to speak. Shaking his old friend's hand, he said, "Good evening, Rabastan. It has been too long, and I do apologize. I see you decided to come alone this evening... it's a pity there are so few acceptable young women at Hogwarts these days."
Again, before Rabastan could reply, Rodolphus arrived. "Ah, Rodolphus! I'm glad you could make it. This should complete our party for this evening," he said, nodding to the waiter that was standing nearby. "Come, my friends, sit. I've taken the liberty of ordering us some hors d'oevres and champagne."

It looked as though the whole party had arrived now that the Lestrange boys were here. And before she had even had a chance to greet Rabastan, Rodolphus was there at her side. Her cheeks went pink as Rodophus kissed her hand. She had missed him. How strange. She rested her hand on his, and then looked across at Rabastan. "Got away from the school girls, did you? How lucky for you," she teased. The waiter brought around the drinks and amidst the clinking of the glasses and trays Bellatrix leaned over and whispered in Rodolphus' ear. "I've missed you darling. You shouldn't go away for so long." She squeezed his hand gently.

After all of the greetings had ended, Rabastan nodded to Lucius. "Yes, I've come alone," though he gave Bellatrix a sly grin. "Although I did have to fight off at least seven girls that were trying to follow me."
He took a glass of champagne, though he waited for the others to as well, since he figured there would be the obligatory toast. "How is everyone?" he asked, since, barring Narcissa, he hadn't seen any of them in ages, and that included his brother.

Lucius accepted a glass of champagne from the waiter's tray, and held it formally in his hand. "Well, it's just as well you didn't bring a date, Rabastan," he said. "We will be discussing some issues of a certain delicate nature, and we wouldn't want just anyone to be a party to such discussions. But at any rate, I am very pleased that you were all able to make it on such short notice. It's been far too long since we all got together."

Rodolphus decided to answer Bella by speaking to the table. "Ah we both well know how troublesome dealing with finances and work can be Lucius, as well as the tedious social events required by dealings with government and such!" he picked up Bella's under the table and have it a squeeze, and added in undertone to her ear "not that it forgives me for my abandon of you." and gave her a small smile. Rodolphus smile wanly at his brother "Ah yes your exploits never stop to mortify me, you are a shameless playboy." he added with a smile. "You Rogue you."

"I agree, Lucius. Perhaps sometime soon you two will learn not to leave your lovelies for so long," she smirked at Narcissa. She knew her sister was having a hard time adjusting to not seeing Lucius as often since his graduating from Hogwarts. Bellatrix had been lucky to be in the same year as Rodolphus and never had to worry about such a thing. Plus, Narcissa, bless her heart, could still be childish in many ways, how she fawned over Lucius when they were together being only one example. Bellatrix tried to pretend she was not the same way when she was Narcissa's age. She also ignored the fact that she was only a single year older than her darling sister.
"It's for the best," she said to Rabastan, again agreeing with Lucius. "I've seen the sort of birds you go after...just about every sort. Who knows what you would have brought here tonight - had you not evaded your stalkers, that is." She smirked, but when she looked back at the rest of the table her face was once again a pleasant shade of serious. "Have you any 'delicate' issues you'd like to share with us Lucius? Or are you hoping to find out what we know?"

"I will have the lot of you know that I *chose* to come alone tonight simply because I enjoy all of your company so much more," he rolled his eyes. "That, and I knew 'delicate' conversation would come up. But I do have a date later," he glanced at his brother and gave him a half smile, "Who happens to love the rogue-types."
Rabastan laughed. Yes, he was well known for his 'playboy' reputation, and it was something of a joke between friends. Bella was right; he didn't have a type. As long as it was feale and breathing, he was interested. He didn't mind the bantering or the jokes he received for it. "All joking aside... I'm glad you could finally track us all down on the same night."

Narcissa accepted a glass from the waiter's tray and smiled to her sister. It was true that she was having a difficult time getting used to Lucius being gone for a while, especially not getting to see him everyday, however she was adjusting the best she could. She busied herself preparing the house with help of course to be the best it could be.
She simply rolled her eyes as Rabastan spoke of coming alone. Although, she had to be in agreement with Lucius and her sister. It was for the best, for there would have been no telling what kind of girl Rabastan would have brought had he choose to bring a date.
"I have to agree with Rabastan. It's a relief that we are able to meet on the same night. It has been too long since I've seen everyone." She gave a quick glance to Lucius out of the corner of her eye and then to her sister.

Lucius smiled and put an arm around Narcissa, still holding his glass of champagne in the other hand. "Yes, it is good to all be together again. I for one will do whatever it takes to make sure we don't fall out of touch again for so long. Good friends with similar interests and beliefs should never lose touch with one another. And on that note, I would like to propose a toast." He raised his glass and looked around the table at each one of them, his gaze stopping on Narcissa. "To good friends, good food, and a good cause."

Rabastan raised his glass to the toast, smirking somewhat because he had called the toast. It wasn't much of a guess, though, since it was pretty commonplace, but it still made him smile.
Lucius and Narcissa, he decided, looked too perfect together. Both had full heads of blond hair, matching eyes. Merlin, their children would just be miniature replicas. But they seemed to suit each other well. This thought led him to the other couple at the table, and they were in such stark contrast to the other. Dark haired, more volatile, and equally suited for each other. He shook his head from these thoughts.
After they drank, he spoke. "So, to go back to Bella's questions, are they any specific topics you wanted to share with us tonight, Lucius? I'm sure we'd all be pleased to hear them."

Lucius took a sip of his drink, then set the glass down on the table with a regal flourish. "Yes, I should say so, Rabastan," he replied formally. "There are a number of issues we need to discuss. Some business.... some pleasure. But please, my friends, let's not begin with the serious discussions. This is also a night to enjoy! We are all back together again, and I believe the future holds many great things for us all. Let us just sit back and enjoy the food and each other's company."
He knew, once it came time to bring up the most pressing issue on his mind, that he would need to send the wait staff away. It was best to do that after the food had been served.
