Bellatrix raised her glass to the toast. "Here here," she said melodically. She drank then as the boys began their discussion again. Bellatrix listened eagerly but was disappointed when Lucius hushed the subject for the time being. He was always so proper like that. It was annoying. "Well then, I do hope someone is planning to regale us with a story of pleasure. We weren't all busy working, were we?" She looked pointedly at Rodolphus, who had been gone for a very long time.

Lucius waved the waiters over as he spotted them carrying in trays of the hors d'oeuvres he'd ordered. "Please, my friends, help yourselves," he said. "We can nibble on these while we talk." He pointed to the stack of menus in the corner next to Rabastan. "Later, we'll order, and that's when we'll discuss business."
"Come now, I'm sure some of you have some good news to relate. Rabastan, Narcissa, why don't you tell me how things are going at school? I'm sure even that place cannot be all bad?"

"Lucius! you've forgotten the hardships of everyday tutelage already!" Rodolphus laughed "Well, I've managed to find the most Glorious trinket, but I'll tell you all of that later, as for good news, I believe it's time Bella and I set a date? Don't you think My dearest?" he asked with a smile on his face, of course his Bella would love to set up the wedding and all it had to do with it, It would save him the trouble of hiring someone to do it, or maybe he would just so Bella could have someone to abuse, He'd have to talk about it with her in private of course!

Rabastan sat up a little straighter, picking up the menus and setting them in a better spot for any of them to grab one before he gave Lucius a look of disbelief. "Not all bad?" he asked, and shot a sidelong look at Narcissa, before falling silent and letting his brother speak.
But of course, he had to mention the impending marriage, which made him sigh. He reigned in the eye rolling, though, like a good boy, and smiled at his brother and his fiance, taking to his champagne glass.

"Things are not as bad as they were. A few people are starting to come around, but it's still going to take some work. There's one girl, Andrea. She's got the attitude, but she just needs to know when to keep her mouth shut. As for the others, it's a work in progress, hopefully almost completed by Christmas or just after. Severus is going to take a lot of work I can tell you that." Narcissa glanced back to Rabastan before falling quiet herself and letting Rodolphus speak.
She looked to her sister and smiled. It seemed about time for the two to set a date.

Ah, it was so good to hear his Narcissa talk about the cause and about reforming the Slytherin house at school. "You have done well, my pet. Keep up the good work. It is more important than ever that you continue on with your work, so that when such a time comes, the Slytherins will be ready to share in the glory."
Lucius smiled at Rodolphus, deciding to change the subject back to thoughts of pleasure and joy. "Ah, Rodolphus, you and I are of the same mind. My intention to set a date for my marriage to my beloved Cissa is also on my agenda for this evening." He wrapped his arm around Narcissa and beamed at them in a proud, territorial manner. "Cissa, since of course, you must finish school first, I was thinking we could plan the wedding for June, as soon as you graduate. That should give us plenty of time to plan a perfectly grand wedding, and of course, you'll get to be a June bride. What do you say, my dear?"

A pink tint rose to Narcissa's fair colored cheeks as Lucius' arm was wrapped around her. Getting married in June, that was going to be perfect. The time of year was perfect, plus it would be a splendid Graduation gift, in a manner of speaking. She glanced again to her sister, then to Lucius. A smile appeared as she looked at his perfect face. "June. That sounds lovely! Of course, as you said that will give us plenty of time and that will also give mother plenty of time to fuss over things." Things were going to be prefect as usual.

Bellatrix listened to the youngest of the group discuss life at Hogwarts. She was more in the loop in this factor, seeing as how she had spoken to both Narcissa and Rabastan more frequently than either Lucius or Rodolphus had. The joys of working at one's old school...
Bellatrix cringed slightly as Rodolphus mentioned their impending wedding. She had forgotten about that. They had been betrothed for so long now it felt strange to have to think about moving further in their relationship. Wasn't an engagement basically marriage? It was just paperwork after all. And the fact they they would be living together. She would have to give up her apartment. She loved her apartment. Of course, Rodolphus would then buy her a house and surely that would be much better than the cramped two story town house she lived in now. She smiled sweetly at Rodolphus as he looked at her. He was completely unaware of her waining affection.
Thankfully the conversation turned to her sister's wedding and with that Bellatrix's attempts to look worry free were found needless. She was more than pleased for her darling little sister. Lucius Malfoy would be a smart match for her. He was rich, handsome, and well mannered. Father approved immensely and would have had Narcissa married off to Lucius ages ago if she were of age. Bella smiled at her sister. Narcissa seemed so happy with Lucius. Bellatrix really hoped Narcissa was. Reaching across the table, she squeezed her sister's free hand and beamed at her.

Lucius smiled and kissed Narcissa on the lips. "Excellent, my darling. We'll set the date for June 17th. It's a Saturday. We can have it right on my family's estate, if that's acceptable to you. Our gardens will be in full bloom at that time, and it should be perfectly lovely. I'll leave the rest of the plans to you, my love, as I'm sure you have some ideas."

Narcissa continued to smile happily. Her stomach felt like it had butterflies, but she enjoyed the feeling. "Oh! That will perfect! I love your gardens!" Planning this wedding was going to be simply beautiful. She had a good idea of what she wanted and she was sure that Lucius would approve. "I have a few ideas, however I wish that Bella would help me when she can." Cissa would have said something about her other sister, Andi, helping her, but knew that she shouldn't. They wouldn't really approve of that so she made sure she avoided that, plus she was sure that Andi was pretty busy doing whatever she did to help her.

Then the inevitable happened... the second impending marriage was brought up. For Merlin's sake, they were about to eat soon! There was so much happy nuptual talk that he was letting his mind roam elsewhere. And while marriage was the last thing on his mind, he hated to admit that he felt extremely uncomfortable at a table with two engaged couples.
Unable to take much more, he good naturedly interupted the plans before they moved on to discussing what color flowers they would use or how terrible so and so looked in that last bridesmaid's robe.
"Thank Merlin I didn't bring a date, or she'd be harrassing me about setting a date by now," he joked.

Lucius laughed heartily. "Now, that is something I'd like to see, Rabastan," he remarked. "I imagine the day you settle down will be declared a national day of morning for witches all over England." He shook his head, knowing there was little chance Rabastan would ever settle down with just one woman. "We must be boring you with our happy couple talk. Perhaps you'd like to regale us with your tales of conquest?"

There was no question that Bellatrix would help Narcissa with wedding details. Although Bella was very unconventional in many ways, she was still a woman. And women loved weddings. And being in charge of things. And when you put those two together it was like nirvana. But she didn't have time to verbalize her excitement as Rabastan interjected. It was well enough that he had, as the conversation turned away from marriage and thus away from her own matrimonial obligation.

"Oh I was going to ask if Bella wanted an assistant for our Wedding!" Rodolphus laughed at his own joke. He smoothed the front of his robes and smiled at Bella, but noticed for the first time that her gaze didn't hold as long as it had, that she didn't lean into his touch. He had for the most part understood her needs, but she had also understood his. This wasn't what he had planned as "married and in love". No it wasn't at all, but he kept his face happy, even if uncertainty was worming in his heart, making it feel like the whole thing could bleed out. If it came to what he was suspecting, why...he'd have to kill her for it. Nonetheless he smiled as he waited for his younger brother to regale them with as many or whatever amount of gullible witches their were in their world.

Rabastan had no desire to regale them with such stories. No one really cared about the conquests of a notorious playboy when everyone listening was happily engaged.
"I'm afraid I wouldn't know which story to begin with," Rabastan replied easily, finishing his first glass of champagne. "And I rather imagine you'd think me a player," he added with a smile. He wasn't necessarily proud of that reputation, but he certainly didn't mind it. It had people talking about him, anyway.
"So I suggest we move on from talking of relationships, or lack thereof, and move on to better things. Bellatrix," he said, turning his attention on her. "To education, shall we? How have you like returning to the school?"

Stupid f*cking little sh*t. She didn't want to talk about working with Rothschild. And the way he spoke, she knew he knew that much. But since she certainly did not want the conversation back on relationships, she obliged. "It's not as bad as I had suspected, though I've not done much yet. That woman," she looked at Lucius and Rodolphus who would be the only ones who might not know, "Isabella Rothschild," she made a face. "She certainly likes to talk. I have to busy myself with pointless tasks to keep her from discussing the most boring of things." Bellatrix rolled her eyes. "But at least it's for a good cause. Merlin knows I wouldn't be there of my own accord."

Rodolphus nodded, he knew the name well enough to know she wasn't there because she wanted to. Not that it garnered her any more sympathy in his heart at the moment, she might very well not care where he had been for so long, not caring his hardships or his tasks. "Must be very dull, working in the same pit we labored so long to be out of. only to land back into it." he said stiffly

Lucius caught the hint of tension between his future sister-in-law and her fiance. Raising an eyebrow, he glanced first at Bellatrix, then at Rodolphus. If Bella was unhappy, would it affect Narcissa's happiness? He certainly couldn't allow that to happen. "Ugh, the Rothschild woman. The traitor. Hard to imagine that she was once one of the Dark Lord's most favored followers. How could one fall so far? It's disgraceful to think of."

Rodolphus nodded " She and the other one, Skipit, Just as unworthy and just as disgraceful, not like any of their reasons actually hold up, You and Cissa are going to marry just as they were, and yet, they defected." he left his statement as was, not really knowing or caring to finish the thought. it was just a disgrace for all of them as deatheaters, it was no wonder than the Dark Lord no longer confided as well in them, he had no extra trust for his followers.

Rabastan raised his eyebrows at his brother when he heard the coldness in his voice. Had he completely just missed what happened? He glanced at the others, but kept quiet. Yes, he was outgoing and charming and all of that, but he was observant when he needed to be, and he felt he needed to be right now. He just nodded his head as they talked of traitors.
