Robin smiled. "They sure were in a hurry, weren't they?" she said, laughing slightly. She thought for a minute as James told her to pick a place to go. "Well," she said, "I guess you can't go wrong with Honeydukes, right? I could really go for some Every Flavor Beans." With a giggle, she added, "Would you think I'm crazy if I told you that I liked almost all of the flavors? Except for ear wax."

James nodded in agreement. "Of course you could never go wrong with Honeydukes! It's probably the best shop here, other than Zonko's of course," he said. He started to grin. "I wouldn't think you crazy. I would think you a pretty cool person if you like almost all the flavors! Although, I have to say, I like the ear wax ones. I'm glad that someone else loves Every Flavor Beans. It's highly possible I could live off the things, with the exception of a few flavors that is." James started to lead Robin towards Honeydukes, still with his arm in hers.

Robin laughed. "I know... everyone always thinks I'm crazy for liking them. But I can't help it... they're fun. I like to reach into the box with my eyes closed and pick a flavor at random. I like a little surprise once in a while, to keep things interesting."

"Well, rest assure that I don't think you're crazy. I think it's pretty cool," said James with a grin. "I don't think most girls care to much for doing stuff like that." He opened the door for her as they reached Honeydukes. They passed a few fellow students as they entered. "Things are always better when they're interesting. Having things that are routine everyday seems to get boring. Besides, that's one of the reasons pulling pranks is always fun. You usually get a good laugh out of them. How do you feel about Zonko's?"

"I love Zonko's!" Robin said, giggling. "I don't usually have the guts to pull off pranks, but I love to look at the stuff. And I even buy some of the stuff, sometimes. I like the dungbombs and stink pellets." She laughed again. "I did use one once in the Hufflepuff common room. You know that guy, Lockhart? He was just going on and on about how wonderful he was, and finally, I had enough. I put a dungbomb on his chair and ran away!"

James found himself grinning. He decided that it was a good idea that he invited Robin to come with him to Hogsmeade. There was more to her than what meets the eye. He nodded his head at the mention of Lockhart. Lockhart was someone James loved to mess with, just because Lockhart was well, Lockhart. He felt his jaw open slightly. "You did that!? I never would have thought that you would have done such a thing! To bad I didn't really ever talk to you in the very beginning of school. You could have pulled pranks with me and Sirius! Oh, such fun! We shall go to Zonko's and buy a few things. I do have to say that I am very proud of you Robin! I don't think anyone would believe that you would have done that."

Robin giggled. "I couldn't believe it, either! At first, I felt bad about it, but then I didn't. I mean, that guy... you should hear how he is in the common room. He just never stops talking about himself! He seems to think he's like some kind of genius, which he's totally not! And he loves talking about his hair and his smile... Ugh! It really gets annoying, especially when I'm trying to study! At least that day he was quiet for about an hour." She tucked a lock of hair behind her ear and grinned. "Well, if you two ever need someone to help you pull a prank, let me know. I might not be so afraid if I'm working with someone else. And people might expect you to pull pranks, but you could use me as a decoy, and no one would expect it."

"I'm right there with you Robin," said James. "Lockhart is one of those people that I can't stand. He talks about his hair way to much. I don't even talk about myself like he does, not even in a joking way." James shook his head again and laughed. "I'll keep that in mind. It may come in handy. I'm trying to be nice to everyone, and the way I look at it, I'm being nice to Sirius by helping him out, although he's going to have to finish the prank itself. If you can help finish it, that'll be a great help. I can even tell you how to do it."

Robin giggled. She was glad she had agreed to go with James. He seemed like a really cool guy, and was a lot of fun to hang out with. She wasn't sure she liked him that way, but at the very least, maybe she had made a good friend. There was never anything bad about that. "Cool! Just let me know, and maybe I can help out. Especially against someone like Lockhart."
She approached the Bertie Bott's display and picked up a large bag of the beans. "Well, I'm all set!" she said. "I can't wait to have some... I've been out all week."

James grinned. "Of course I will! Sirius will never believe this," he said following her to the Bertie Bott's display. He picked up two large bags of the beans. "I think these will last me until next time I come here. I hate being out for awhile, so I can sympathize with you on that." James grabbed a couple chocolate frogs as well. "Hey Robin? You would consider us friends, right," he said as he turned to her. "Can you give me some kind of advice for something?"

Robin smiled. "Yeah, of course we're friends," she said. She was surprised at how easily she said those words. And it felt nice to have a friend. "Advice? What kind of advice?"

James reached up and scratched his head. "Well," he began. He wasn't sure how he wanted to put his thoughts into words. "You're a girl, and you know how girls work, so I figured that I would ask you. I don't know what I'm doing and I don't know if I'm doing it right, although, let's not speak of me asking for advice or anything like that." James sighed. "I don't know what to do about this girl. You see, I like her and everything, although I sort of think she sort of dislikes me. I'm trying to be nice because she asked, but I don't think that it's going to be good enough for her. I want to ask her to go somewhere with me, but I have a feeling she'll say no. I think she may like someone else, but I don't know." He looked to Robin. "Does any of that make sense?"

Robin listened to him talk about the girl he liked. She had a feeling he was talking about Lily Evans, but she didn't want to say anything about that, in case he was embarassed. "Well, the thing is, girls like honesty. If she senses that you're putting on an act just to make her happy, well, she's going to know that's not really you. You want her to want to get to know who you are, not try to be what you think she wants you to be. Maybe if you talked to her, honestly, from your heart and told her how you feel about her, she'd be more willing to give you a chance."

"Although, here's the thing. I'm not acting. I have the ability to be nice to people, it's just sometimes I choose not to be. I try to be myself around her even though I know I look like a fool just trying to get her attention. However, it doesn't matter to me," he said with a shrug. "Plus, if I sit down and just told her how I feel, that would probably be me signing my death warrant! I can see that now. 'Hey Lily. I just want to tell you something. I really like you a lot, and I know you don't care to much for me or anything. I just wanted to let you know that I do like you, so do you want to be my girlfriend?' 'Oh sure James! I like you to and of course I'll go out with you'," said James, saying the last line in a girly voice. "Oh yeah. I can see that happening. More like her shooting me or hexing me right then and there!" James gave an aggravated sigh. "I want to tell her. I really do. But, I don't want to be embarrassed in front of everyone. You know what I mean? I just don't know what to do!"

Robin stifled a laugh. Boys were so funny... they always expected girls to react to things differently than they actually would. She was sure Lily wouldn't laugh at him or hex him or anything else. She knew that if James or any other boy told her that he liked her, she would definitely be willing to at least talk to him about it. "Well, then, I guess the best thing to do is give her time and space. Let her get to see who you are. Don't push things or annoy her, just try to be yourself without crowding her. Then, if you think her attitude towards you is starting to change, then ask her out. But again, don't push it."

Sirius and Kris approached the candy store, having just left the joke shop. Standing just outside the door, they could see James and Robin talking about something. Sirius was about to call out to them, but then he overheard a part of their conversation...
"'Hey Lily. I just want to tell you something. I really like you a lot, and I know you don't care to much for me or anything. I just wanted to let you know that I do like you, so do you want to be my girlfriend?' 'Oh sure James! I like you to and of course I'll go out with you'..."
Sirius almost laughed at this. Man, he really was pathetic when it came to Lily. But he decided to stand back while they finished their conversation.
"...Let her get to see who you are. Don't push things or annoy her, just try to be yourself without crowding her. Then, if you think her attitude towards you is starting to change, then ask her out. But again, don't push it."
Sirius nodded at her advice. He had to hand it to the girl, she knew what she was talking about. "That's great advice," he said, walking up to them. He grinned at them, then added in a more serious tone, "Hey, James, can I talk with you about something? In private?"

James was about to speak, but Sirius' voice stopped him. He turned towards the door and shook his head. Great.... Sirius had overheard. James thought that Sirius was going to go on and start mocking him as usual, but noticed his voice turned serious. That wasn't usual. "Yeah, sure," said James to Sirius. He turned to Robin. "We'll be back in a few minutes." James turned to Sirius and walked with him away from the girls. Once they disappeared from sight, he stopped. "What is it Sirius?"

Sirius took a breath and looked at James. He almost couldn't believe he was going to say this out loud, but he had to tell someone or he was going to burst. "James..." he began, lowering his voice and looking around quickly to make sure no one was around. "I cheated on Kris."

James felt his jaw open. He glanced around as well, double checking they were off on their own. "You. You cheated on Kris," repeated James as he grasped what Sirius admitted. "How, and with who?" The image of Sirius flirting with Amy floated to the front of his mind. Please don't tell me it was with Amy.

Kris looked at the ground as Sirius and James left, she crossed her arms wishing she could hear him. She wanted to know if her suspisions were right, she didn't want them to be right but deep down she knew if they were she would be the blame because of her secrets and lies.
