Kris was looking at the ground thinking about her father, she wanted to believe him but she couldn't. She was lost in her thoughts and hadn't noticed the boys coming down. Sirius had been slightly behind the other guys. He was still feeling distracted, thinking about how he had betrayed Kris by kissing Amy. He felt bad about it, and yet, there was a part of him that knew he wouldn't take it back even if he could. It had been a good kiss. And he had to admit, he liked Amy. Still, he hated hurting Kris. She'd already been through enough, and the last thing she needed was to find out that her boyfriend had kissed anothern girl. He silently vowed to himself that he'd never do it again, and he'd focus on his relationship qwith Kris. When he saw her there, he broke into a smile. But she didn't even notice him. She was staring at the ground, obviously very deep in thought. He frowned. He wanted to have fun today. He hoped he could distract her out of whatever was troubling her today. "Hey, Kris," he said tentatively, reaching over and tucking a finger under her chin. "Ready to go?" |

Kris looked up at him and smiled she knew she could trust him, she nodded to answer his question. She was glad she had him and her brother to talk with even though she couldn't tell him everything. She wanted to tell him but she was scared to, she didn't want to lose him.

"Yeah, I guess they're all mostly OK," Remus said. "I heard there was a new Astronomy teacher, but I'm not taking that one anymore, so I don't know anything about him. But yeah... the Care of Magical Creatures professors are definitely strange..." he grinned. Lily laughed. "I'm glad that I'm not the only one who thinks that. Yeah, the new Astronomy teacher. He's decent, and he seems pretty cool actually. I don't know what it is about those two, though. They just seem I don't know. Not really trustworthy, but I don't know what else would describe it." |

Sirius sighed with relief. He was glad to see her smile. He just hoped she wouldn't be so quiet all day. Sometimes it seemed like she kept so much inside that he couldn't quite reach her.
Glancing ahead to see that Remus was already walking pretty far ahead of them, he leaned in and gave her a quick kiss. "Come on, let's get going. Let's have some fun today." He put one arm around her shoulder.

"Ok." Kris smiled and tried to keep her mind and thoughts off her father and focus on having fun with Sirius. She tried to think of something to say and after a few minutes came up with, "Where all are we going today?"

Lily laughed. "I'm glad that I'm not the only one who thinks that. Yeah, the new Astronomy teacher. He's decent, and he seems pretty cool actually. I don't know what it is about those two, though. They just seem I don't know. Not really trustworthy, but I don't know what else would describe it." Remus nodded. "Yeah, I know what you mean. It sorta seems like they're up to something. I don't know what, but they definitely seem fishy to me." |

I haven't decided what else we should do. There are a bunch of new places there, though. So what kind of things do you want to do?" |

"Of course if we said anything to anyone they would think that we were crazy," said Lily. "So I guess we just keep that to ourselves." Hogsmeade drew nearer as they went along. Once they got there, Lily turned to Remus. "Thanks for coming with me."

"I just want to be with you." Kris said with a smile, she was glad nothing was going to be between them. "OK," Sirius said. "I guess we can wander around and see where we end up going. There are lots of places to go in Hogsmeade, so we should be able to have some fun." He leaned in and kissed her cheek, feeling a terrible pang of guilt as he did it. But he kept smiling, hoping she wouldn't notice that anything was wrong. |

"I promise we will," Sirius said, squeezing her hand. He silently reminded himself to stop thinking about what he had done and to focus on his time with Kris. He loved her, and that wasn't a lie. What had happened with Amy had been a mistake... just a bit of temporary insanity. He needed to forget about everything else but Kris.
They were just about in town by now, so he smiled at her and said, "When we get into town, I just want to say a quick goodbye to the guys, and we'll arrange a meeting time, OK? We still have to be back before it gets dark."

He stopped what he was about to say, as he realized they were just on the edge of town. He didn't want James to hear anything, so he decided to wait until they got to the Three Broomsticks. Walking over to where Robin and James were standing, he greeted them quietly while they waited for Sirius and Kris to get there. |

After they had walked for about 20 minutes, they finally reached the very edge of Hogsmeade. Zonko's was just ahead, and Honeyduke's was next door. Sirius squeezed Kris's hand and walked up to the other two groups, who were standing there waiting for them.
"Hey, guys," he said. "Kris and I are gonna take off, OK? I want to get to Zonko's first. See you guys later?"

Lily looked over to Robin and James, giving them a quiet 'hello'. She waved to Kris as her and Sirius left. Turning to Remus she gave him a smile. "Come on Remus," she said tugging at his arm towards the Three Broomsticks. "See you later," Lily said to Robin and James. She didn't want to have to be around James more than she had to be.

Remus waved at Sirius as he left with Kris. He was a little annoyed that they were taking off so quickly. Turning to James and Robin, he smiled at them and was about to say something when he felt Lily pulling on his arm. "Uh... see you guys," he said as he allowed Lily to lead him off to the Three Broomsticks.

James turned to Robin as the others just left them pretty quickly. "Well then. I guess that just leaves us to find something to do," said James. "Where would you like to go Robin? I'll go just about anywhere you want to go, and you won't hear me complain." He gave her a grin.
