Wesley had finally decided that it was time to get out in public. Athena had volunteered to watch Natalie, who had been much less clingy since the locket had disappeared, and so Wesley headed out to the Three Broomsticks to get a drink of butterbeer. He walked into the pub and looked around. He didn't see anyone who looked like a death eater, so he approached the bar and sat down. "I'll have a butterbeer," he said to the bartender.

Evangeline was grateful that she didn't have to work today. Her house was cleaner than it had been in awhile, but her cabinets were practically empty. She had decided to head out to the Three Broomsticks to get something to drink. When she entered she didn't look around to see who was there, she just headed to the bar and took her usual seat. She ordered her usual butterbeer and sat quietly.

As Wesley began to drink his butterbeer, he saw a young woman walk up to the bar and sit down. He glanced over at her and recognized her as Evangeline James, the girl he'd had a huge crush on back at Hogwarts. He felt a little nervous, just as he always had back at school. Taking a quick drink from his cup, he turned toward her and smiled.

Out of the corner of her eye, Evangeline noticed Wesley. She turned to him just as he smiled, and she smiled back. During their Hogwarts years, Evangeline had liked Wesley, but didn't tell him because of Olivia and because of their friendship. "Hey Wes," she said sliding down a chair and sat next to him. "I haven't seen you in awhile. I'm glad to see you out."

Wesley smiled back. "It's, er, good to be out, actually. I've rather been in hiding for quite a while, and it feels good to be out in public again, seeing people and getting fresh air." He took another sip of his drink. "How have you been, Evangeline? You look... good." As usual, around her, his mouth seemed to go dry and the words coming out of his mouth didn't seem right. He would have thought that after being married and having two daughters, he'd be better at talking to her.

"I've been pretty good actually," said Evangeline. "And, thanks. You look pretty good yourself. Well, I mean since of what's happened and everything." She glanced down at her glass, then back up again.

Wesley nodded quietly. "Then I guess you've heard... Things have been tough for my family lately. I'm not sure my youngest daughter is ever going to be the same again."

"Yeah. I've heard. I'm sorry about that," said Evangeline. "There's been so much stuff been going on lately. I hear a lot of stuff in the Registry. I heard about another little girl getting bitten by a werewolf several weeks ago. Then there was an almost attack the other night, but some other wolf attacked another," she said.

"That's too bad," Wesley said. "Is it true what I heard? That Fenrir Greyback joined with Voldemort? I heard a lot of rumors while I was in hiding. If that's true, then a lot of these werewolf attacks could be part of Voldemort's plans."

"Yeah, that part is true," said Evangeline. "I'm not sure what exactly Voldemort is planning to do. Unless of course, he's waiting to see how many he can get on his side, and then attack. Although, I don't know," she said.

"I think most of his plan is to make us afraid," Wesley replied. "I was so afraid of what his people would do to my family, I hid for a year. It didn't do any good, though... my daughter is dead now. She was innocent, and she didn't deserve what happened to her. I'd go back and sacrifice myself, if I could save her. One thing is for sure, though... I will not hide anymore."

"No one really deserves to be killed by Voldemort or any of his followers. I don't know what we could do to actually stop him, and I don't know if there is a way to stop him," said Evangeline. "I can't say that I've been effected by Voldemort that much, but I've seen the way he effects others, and he just lives to destroy people's lives I do believe."

"I agree with you," Wesley said. "A friend of mine, Isabella Rothschild, had her newborn baby kidnapped right out of Hogwarts. It seems almost certain that Voldemort was behind it. Sabrina was killed trying to rescue my other daughter, Natalie, who was kidnapped by the former Minister of Magic. It seems to be too dangerous anywhere these days... Sometimes I just want to lock Natalie away from the world, just to keep her safe. But I am glad to hear that you haven't been affected yet. What have you been up to? Anything?"

"I met Isabella in here a few days ago," said Evangeline. "She seemed a mess. Plus too, all this happening now, is just the beginning of things to come." She took a drink. "I haven't really been up to anything really. Just trying to keep everything together I suppose and make sure that the registry doesn't go into any type of chaos."

"Ah, I see," Wesley said. "Are you still friends with Cassidy? You two used to be inseparable. Olivia was thrilled when Cassidy got a job as an auror, she was always trying to build up her confidence."

"Yes, Cassidy and I are still really good friends," said Evangeline. "She's got her own case now, which I'm proud of her for. She's trying to defend Tyler Jackson. It's going to be sort of a hard one, but Cass has Dumbledore there to agree with her, and of course others to back her up too. Cass is still shy as ever, but she's very slowly coming out of it I think."

Wesley smiled. "I'm glad to hear that," he said. "Cassidy was always so shy... kind of reminded me of myself, really. I'm not sure I'd have ever even said a word in school if not for Tristan. He always had a way of making me do things that I never would have done otherwise..."

"Yes, he still does," said Evangeline frowning a bit. "So, what do you plan on doing now? Continue working at the ministry or something different?" She wanted to change the subject. She didn't care if him and Tristan were best friends or whatever during school, but she just didn't want to talk about him, at all.

Wesley noticed the way her mood seemed to darken at the mention of Tristan. He wanted to ask her about it, but decided against it. "No, I really don't want to go back to the Ministry," he replied. "I'm actually trying to see if I can get a teaching job at Hogwarts, so I can be close to Natalie. I've heard there's an opening in Ancient Runes."

"That will be good," said Evangeline. "I'm not even sure when we're supposed to be getting a new minister. Everything is going alright, it hasn't turned to chaos, so I suppose that's a good sign," she said. "I hope you do well with getting that teaching job and everything."
