"Well, I always thought we'd be better of without a minister at all than to continue with Craven in charge." He frowned. "He... he killed Olivia, you know. And his assistant tried to kill me, and did kill my daughter. We're definitely better off without them."

"I remember hearing about that," said Evangeline. "I never liked Craven. He always creeped me out." She took another sip. "I'm not even sure who's running now, but I don't really care. As long as we don't have another Craven, I think everything will be okay."

"Oh yeah," said Evangeline. "I think it was her that said something about him running. I'm not familiar with him, because I haven't met him yet, but from what I've heard of him, he's okay, I guess."

"Ah, I see," Wesley said, nodding his head. "I've never met him, either, but then I haven't met a lot of people at the Ministry. Being an Unspeakable makes a person rather isolated, you know. Anyway, Angelique seemed to think he was at least a decent person, which is definitely better than we had with Craven. Have you met Angelique? She recently came here from America. I hadn't even seen her since she was about 12."

Wesley laughed. "She's come a long way from when she was 12. She was quite the spoiled princess. Now she's better, but she does have a tendency to be brutally honest."

Evangeline laughed. "Well, that can be a good thing, but yet a bad thing too," she said. "She's also good at building up people's confidence too. The day that I met her, I was in here with Cass. She was putting herself down, but Angelique told her different, and I do believe that helped Cass out a little bit."

"Well, that's definitely a good thing," Wesley said. "Especially since she was obviously telling the truth, because she doesn't ever lie just to make someone feel better. I do hope Cassidy does well in her case, she deserves it." He paused and took a drink from his butterbeer. Evangeline had changed a lot since Hogwarts, and she was looking positively breathtaking. His heart skipped a beat. "So, tell me, Evangeline, is there anything else going on in your life?"

"No, nothing really. Just mostly work, and trying to clean my house. I'm thinking about repainting it," she said. "It needs a little something since it's just plain looking, but it's cleaner than it has been in awhile, and my books are actually organized!" Evangeline looked down. "Sorry, I'm just babbling on and on. But other than that, nothing special."

"Well, that's good," Wesley replied. "I don't even have a house anymore. When I was declared dead, my house was sold. I'm staying with Olivia's brother, Alastor. But he's engaged now, and I don't really want to be in the way. So as soon as I get a job, I'm going to start looking for a place for Natalie and I."

Evangeline thought for a moment. "You can stay at my house until you can get one," she said. "I know it's kind of small, but there's no one else staying there except for me. There's an extra bed room you and Natalie can stay in. That is if you want."

Wesley blushed slightly. "That's very sweet of you, Evangeline. I'd have to see how Natalie feels about it. She might prefer to stay with her uncle a little while longer. She's been through so much already. And Alastor's fiance, Athena, is a very good babysitter. But she's also got two boys of her own that she's planning to send for... thigs could get very crowded around there. Maybe I should have Natalie meet you. She's... well, she's got a very unusual power..."

"I'll see if she wants to do that sometime," Wesley said. "She hasn't been going out or doing very much lately. She witnessed Sabrina's death--and saw it in a vision before it happened. She's an Empath, you see. She can feel a person's emotions, and can see what their path will be. It is very traumatic for her, really. I'm trying to find a way to help her control her power."

"I imagine that it would be traumatic for her to see that kind of thing," said Evangeline. "That would be horrible. Have you talked to Dumbledore about it? Maybe he knows some way that you can help her control it, or he could possibly tell you where to go to find out how."

"Well, he's aware of her power," Wesley said. "But I haven't really had much time to talk with him yet. I hope I will soon, especially if I get the job at Hogwarts. Isabella has also offered to help, because she studied similar powers when she was in school. But of course, she's been a bit busy lately."

"Oh yeah, because of her baby being kidnapped," said Evangeline. "What is it with Voldemort and kids?" That questions was more a rhetorical question than an actual one. "When I get to my house, I'll look on my shelves and see what I have. I don't know if I'll have anything, but there's a very slim chance I may have a book on Empaths. I don't know half the books I own, but I'll let you know if I have anything."

I just don't think he has any value for them... they are expendible. But why would he want Isabella's baby? Is he just trying to punish her or ishe trying to make a miniature version of himself?"

Evangeline shrugged. "I'm not sure. I'm guessing the wanting to punish Isabella is more probable than the other. I don't think Voldemort would want to try someone so young to become like him, because they could be a possible threat to him," said Evangeline.
