"Hmmm, that's a good point," Wesley replied. "But then again, luckily for us, we don't really think the way he does. I really can't even begin to understand why he does the things he does, or why."

Evangeline shrugged. "I don't know. I don't think I want to know what's going on in his head," she said. "But hopefully, he can be stopped and gotten rid of sometime soon."

"I hope so, too," Wesley said. "But I'm not optimistic. He's gained a lot of followers, people who believe the same things that he does. I can't imagine why anyone would want to follow him, but there are a lot of people who do. I just hope he can be stopped before his followers become too strong."

"I'm not so sure of that though," said Evangeline. "But I know that the Order will do the best they can as well as the Aurors. I don't understand what they see in certain people to make them go after them and kill them, or if they just kill at random to make themselves known." She sighed. "Do you mind if we talk about something else other than Voldemort? I don't really care what, but just something that doesn't really involve people going after others."

Wesley nodded. "Yes, he's not exactly the most pleasant topic of conversation, is he?" he said with a smile. "But do you realize that this is the longest conversation we've ever had together? I never used to be able to talk to you in school."

Evangeline smiled. "In school I was really nervous to talk to you for a period of time. I was always scared that I was going to say something stupid. I had to think ahead of time what I wanted to talk to you about if I ran into you, but that never really worked, because every time I would run into you, my mind would go blank."

Wesley blushed. "You... you too? I... I was the same way. With you. I always thought... I was just the geeky kid with the glasses... why would you want to talk to me?"

Evangeline smiled. "Don't forget I was the geeky kid of Slytherin," said Evangeline. "I didn't really think you were geeky. I thought that you were pretty cool actually, and there was the fact that I had the hugest crush on you in school," she said as her cheeks turned scarlet red.

"You... you did? Really?" Wesley gasped, nearly choking on his butterbeer. "Tristan was right... I hate when he's right! I can't believe... I was sure you didn't even know I was alive..."

Evangeline gave a smile and rubbed her hands together. "Yeah, I did, but I never told you because, one; I was shy, two; I couldn't really talk when you were around, I would end up babbling on and on about something really stupid, and three; I thought you would laugh at me," said Evangeline.

Wesley laughed. "But I was the same way. We probably could have just sat around and stared at each other and talked about things that made no sense at all!" He smiled. "I wish I had known that you liked me, but then, I'm OK with how things turned out. I was happy with Olivia... I loved her very much. And she gave me my children, and I wouldn't trade them for anything in the world. But maybe... now we could try it again. Now that we aren't terrified to talk to each other..."

Evangeline smiled. "Yeah, and then people would have stared at us like we were crazy," she said. "I suppose we could. That would be good," she said with a smile.

Wesley smiled. "That's great," he said. "Maybe we could start by going out together sometime... just us. What about... say, this Friday?"

"This Friday?" Evangeline thought for a moment. "Sure. I don't have anything planned as usual, so that wouldn't be a problem," she said with a smile.

"Great!" Wesley said, flushing slightly. He nearly tipped over his glass of butterbeer. "I'll pick you up at 7:00. Er... where do you live? Are you in town?"

Evangeline smiled. "Yes, I live in town. If you go out the doors and walk down to the first street on your left, I'm the fourth house on the right," said Evangeline.

"Oh, all right," Wesley said. "That sounds easy enough. Alastor's house is just about two blocks from there." He quickly finished the rest of his drink. "If you want, I could... walk you home. When you want to leave, that is..."

Evangeline smiled again. "Of course. That would be nice," she said. "I'm ready to leave when you are. No big rush, that is if you're not in a rush."

"All right," Wesley said. "Well, we can go soon, I guess. Unless you want to finish your drink..."

Evangeline finished the last swallow in her glass and turned to him with a smile. "Alright, let's go then," she said. She reached into her little bag and pulled out a few coins to pay for her drink and then slid off the stool.
