Alek laughed at her compliment, as skeptical as it was. "Explain something to me," he said as he threw his first dart (60). "The Auror. I don't see it. You're so lively and fun, while he..." is a bastard who deserves to rot in Hell. Alek took his second shot (30), then his third (57). He turned to look at Christine. "What's a polite way of saying he's got a stick up his arse?"

Christine took a deep sigh. They hadn't talked about Dorian, and for a while it was taboo for anyone to mention it. The fact that Alek was prodding now gave credence to the idea that Alek was not an 'off limits' kind of guy. She liked that about him.
"He saved my life." she said throwing her dart (60).
"We fought at first, but when I was scared, when I needed him, he was there." she threw her second dart (57).
"In a way he anchored me and I allowed him to fly." (54).
Being with Alek was fun and exciting, but the potential to crash and burn was overwhelming. There was no balance, they were too similar. Dorian challenged her, and he brought her peace. She challenged him, and brought him liveliness and fun.

His first throw gave him 39, putting him only 21 points away from beating Christine. "So you had a traumatic experience and he did his job. You certainly know how to wax poetic about law enforcement." His second landed on 36, putting him just over 501. He grinned. "Look's like I've checked out, love. Hope you can handle the bill," he said with a laugh as he readied himself to finish the game with a bullseye. He aimed and threw the dart, landing square in the center of the board.

Christine blinked, "What?" she frowned then did the math in her head.
"You distracted me!" she accused him and punching him on the shoulder. Obviously it wasn't the money that upset her, but she didn't like to lose. "I should have won last round."
She laughed then, "Well played."
The waitress returned with their wings and drinks.
"Another?" Christine asked handing him his beer.

It had been a close game but Alek was glad that he had won. Christine's flustered loser face was obnoxiously adorable. Alek couldn't see how anyone who had already won her would ever give her up.
"Excuses, excuses," he said teasingly as she 'complained' about him distracting her. "You distract me plenty and yet...here we are."
He took the beer and said "cheers" then took a drink. Alek nodded to her question. "Losers first...oh I meant ladies first. Slip of the tongue." He gave a mischievous grin before taking another drink of his beer.

"Ha-ha." she deadpanned throwing her darts 60, 57, 60." her eyes narrowed on him, though the playfulness never left.
She took a sip of her beer and began to nibble on a hot wing.
She left his side to go where the jukebox was in the corner of the room. As music filtered throughout the room Christine spun around and danced her way back to Alek.

"This," he said as he gestured to her swaying hips, "would be the aforementioned distraction. And yet..." He turned to the board. 60. 60. 20. "Bollocks."
He turned back to a dancing Christine and smiled. "Now I'm going to be a gentleman and not blame that on you."

She smirked. Her actions were intentional, her aim was flawless and and her grin was sensual. Christine was in her element in this 'dodgy' bar, swaying her hips to an earthy beat, a beer in her hand. She was so versatile she could fit in anywhere and still manage to keep an air of genteelness about her. She was a lady in her actions and in the way that she treated people. It was hard not to love her.
She won that game, gracefully, though her smile was slightly gloating.
"Shall we raise the stakes?"

It was indeed hard not to love her. Dorian did absolutely nothing right in his life except fall for this siren. And Alek was falling victim, too. Christine would be the only thing the brothers would ever agree upon.
Alek raised his brow to her enticing question. "What did you have in mind, love?"

"Vanessa." Christine called a smirk playing on her lips, "Bring the bourbon over would you."
"You got it hun." Vanessa replied.
"We play round for round. Loser can either do what the winner tells them to do or drink." there was a clear challenge in Christine's tone, but it was softened by the mischief in her eyes.
Vanessa arrived with the bottle and two shot glasses. Christine raised a brow in Alek's direction

"What a wicked game you offer. How can I refuse?" She was making this far too easy.
Alek once again permitted her to throw first, devising a strategy in his head.

If Christine had known what his true motives were, she wouldn't have offered such a wicked game, nor would she have really had anything to do with him. But she didn't know, and she knew his competitive nature would make him want to play. She had a strategy of her own, now she just had to beat him.
She took her turn 57,50,60.

Alek stepped up to the line. His first two throws scored well; 54 and 51 points. His third dart landed him only 20 points.
"Show mercy," he said teasingly as he turned to see what sort of dare she would come up with.

Christine grinned and took a sip of her beer, "Tell me a secret." she said sitting down on the stool at the table where her food was, she put in another order of wings. For a tiny thing Christine had a good appetite.

"A secret? Hmm..." Alek thought for a moment of a 'secret' he could divulge to further earn her trust. He smiled and leaned close to Christine. "Between you and I, when I found you in the woods that day, I was a little scared that you would actually take my head off with that rock."

She laughed, "That's not a secret," she said taking another sip, "That's just good instincts."
She let it pass though, confident in her ability to win more rounds, "You first this time." she said letting him take a turn throwing.

Alek laughed at Christine's response. "As instinctual as it may have been, don't go spreading it around. If my sister found out I was nervous of a girl with a rock she'd start challenging me on all manner of things."
Alek's next round was much more fortunate. 45. 50. 48. He gestured for Christine to take her turn and watched as she moved toward the oche. She had a sway about her hips independent of the music that still played.

"Yeah, I'm pretty sure she already does that."
Christine took her darts in hand 57, 0, 60. She sighed, her hair falling over her eyes, she ran a hand through it to draw it back.

"Oh, come now. That's only fair play, don't look so glum," he teased her as she returned to their table. His eyes narrowed playfully as half his mouth curled into a grin.
"Not to worry, love. I'll be gentle. Tell me your guilty pleasure."

'You' she thought guiltily. It was true. Spending time with Alek was somewhat taboo. She knew he had feelings for her and was highly flirtatious. She knew that he was also somewhat dangerous and pulled her in a dangerous direction. But when she was with him she felt alive and exciting, and perhaps a little bit bad.
She inhaled sharply and shook herself out of the dangerous thoughts she had been having.
"Muggle Romance Novels." she answered, "I started reading them when I was eleven and didn't have half a clue what anything was about." she had learned quite a bit since then.
