"You're really enjoying making me wait around while you shop, aren't you?" Alek found he didn't mind much, though too long in one shop at a time made him restless.
"Alright, love. One more thing then you're cut off."

"Please." she scoffed, "You love my company." she said confidently as she went to the counter and spoke with the clerk. Her manners were much more polite than Bella's and the clerk was quite efficient.
"All done."

He chuckled at her confidence and waited while she spoke with the clerk at the counter. When she returned he raised his brow questioningly at her. "Is it a secret?" he asked teasingly, then held the door for her.

She looked at him speculatively, "If I say yes that would only make you more curious." she shrugged and opened her bag revealing a knife with a curved blade made from onyx, the handle was polished ivory.
The knife acted as a conduit of strength, life, and power. The one who wielded the blade could siphon energy from the person who met the other end of it.
It was also very pretty.

Alek looked inside, smiled, and then looked back to Christine. "You are a naughty girl," he said with a proud grin. Between the conversation he had overheard with Bellatrix and Christine's newest toy, she was proving that she wouldn't go down without a fight. That knowledge excited Alek and his affections for her grew despite the plot against his brother.
"Now, where are we having lunch? I hope it's some place a little nicer than here." Alek had no problem with Knockturn Alley when it served its purpose, but it was seedy and not worthy of Christine's presence.

She nearly preened when he beamed at her, she didn't seek his approval, but she enjoyed it none the less. All the while she rolled her eyes and teased him in return.
"It's karaoke night at Stu's." she hinted.

Alek laughed at her and shook his head. "Karaoke night, eh? And I suppose I'll be expected to sing something?" He looked at her with raised eyebrows.

"Bowie I think." she determined after narrowing her eyes in speculation. She laughed then taking his hand and leading the way.
She wasn't aware of his seducing her, it felt so easy with him. He indulged her, spoiled her almost, made her smile, even against her will sometimes. It didn't hurt that he was handsome as sin and exceedingly charming, or that he had the bad boy thing down to a T.

"Right. Looks like I'll be drinking my lunch, then."
When they arrived at the tiny little pub, Alek again held the door for her. The place was dodgy and Alek didn't see the appeal but Christine seemed happy enough and for the moment that was enough.

Christine wasn't the elitist most would assume her to be due to her family's connections and wealth. She was just as much at home in the underbelly of a ship, in a tent out in the desert, or hunting lodge in the Mountains as she was at the castle, and dodgy hole in the wall venues were her bread and butter.
Unlike Samantha who would stand out in a place like Stu's, or anywhere really, Christine could blend in. She was still breathtakingly gorgeous, but when she spoke she had a way of setting a person at ease, as though she were an old friend.
"It's still early." she said making a face at his 'drinking his lunch', they also had some time to kill before karaoke began.
She pulled out some galleons, then gestured to the dart board, pool table, and shuffle board.
"Pick a game, loser buys first round."

"Oh, most definitely darts. Sharp projectiles and Christine Montgomery. That's a combination I would very much like to see." He flashed a charming smile at her and rubbed his hands together and he crossed to the dart board.
"Ladies first."

She smirked, "Your loss." she said almost provocatively against him as she passed him by and headed to the dartboard. It might have been his loss either way. She was best at darts, but had hustled her fair share at a poolhall. She was passable at the shuffleboard.
She retrieved the darts and claimed the red ones for herself while giving him the black, from the designated line she threw her first three darts, two hit the 60 pt mark, but the third was encumbered by the other two and fell to the 20 pt below.
She smirked wider.

Alek watched her with a sly grin. She had an easy look of concentration about her, she was obviously well versed in the game. Her aim reflected her ease.
"Spend a lot of your time playing pub games, do you?" Alek took his turn, scoring respectably but not surpassing Christine.

She raised an eyebrow at him, "Do you?" she asked as he took his turn. She lined up her darts again this time aiming for different targets. 60 pts. 57. 54.
Her grin was ear to ear.
"Can I get you guys something to eat or drink?" the pretty brunette waitress asked.

Alek looked over the waitress quickly then turned to Christine. "What do you think, love? Can you handle a drink and still give me a run for my money?"
Their "relationship" had developed since that drunken night in the maze and if it hadn't been for their being interrupted, Alek would have had Christine. If drink could loosen her inhibitions again, Alek was certain he'd have her tonight.

"As long as it isn't my cousin's champagne, I should be fine." she said with a laugh. Looking back on that night Christine should have known better. Sam had catered the party through the village, all the food and beverage came from the farmers and producers on their estate. Some of the finest artisans and crafters could be found there, at least in Christine's humble opinion. And they certainly knew how to make potent champagne.
When it came to hard liquor Christine could hold her own. Beer didn't affect her as badly either, but wine and champagne and Christine was a light weight.
"Wings and a round of Stu's best." Christine smiled at the girl as she wrote down the order.
"Anything else?" she asked looking at Alek.

"I think you rather enjoyed your cousin's champagne," he said with a sly grin before letting Christine order.
Alek shook his head at the waitress' question but added, "I'm a bit of a pessimist; if I see my glass half empty I won't be any fun to be around. Best keep the drinks coming."
As the brunette left Alek turned back to the dartboard. 57. 54. 21. "Bloody hell," he exclaimed as his last throw missed its intended mark by a mere centimeter.

"Yes, well...Don't expect a repeat performance." she scolded, though she was more upset with herself than with him. And her frustration continued to increase when he would tease her or provoke her. A part of her thought that she should keep away from him if she didn't want anything to happen, and yet another part of her almost thought of it as a challenge.
She threw her darts. 57. 0. 50. She frowned forgetting what the score was as well as the fact that her second dart had bounced off of the board.

"Tsk. Tsk. Getting angry doesn't seem to improve your aim," he said, noting her missed throw. "Lighten up, love. We're just having a little harmless fun, aren't we?"

Her aim had been on point, but the force at which she threw the dart at the board reflected her sudden upset. She shook it off at his admonishing of her and smiled. She might have agreed with his words if he didn't look at her as though she were his prey at times.
She sighed and waited for him to take his turn.
"I'm not sure anything with you is ever truly harmless, but it is usually pretty fun."
