All new students must post here after they've been accepted, so that they may be Sorted into their houses. Please post IN character, using at least four sentences. Describe what your character is doing, or thinking, or feeling before being called for sorting, up until the moment he or she puts the hat on his or her head. If you wish to be placed in a particular house, have the character think about the reasons why the character thinks he or she should be in that house.
Posts that are less than four sentences long, or are posted before an application is posted, will be deleted.

Post by Emile Terrance on Oct 16, 2009 21:02:18 GMT -5
Emile was standing with perfect posture as he waited for the sorting ceremony to start. He hasn't listened to any of the rumours flying around, so he wasn't quite certain which house he would be best fitted in. The sole fact that he had to sit on a stool with all those eyes watching made Emile want to throw up, but this was necessary. He had to keep reminding himself that this was the place for him to learn, and maybe make some new friends.
WHen they called his name, Emile stood up almost shakily and walked to the stoll, sitting rigidly.

A little boy was called up, but no one moved.
Danica looked around and saw the boy looking around nervously, and she practically rolled her eyes in the over exaggerated way little girls did everything.
She stepped towards him and nudged him forward. "Go on- it'll be fine." Her accent wasn't as thick as her mother's; she sounded almost British now.
A few names later, and it was her turn. She pressed her feet fully into the floor and bounced as she walked up to the hat, eager to be placed.

"Hey, it's okay. Look- it's just a hat and hasn't done anything bad to anyone else, right?"
The little boy standing next to Elise was practically shaking in his boots, he was so nervous about the sorting ceremony. Elise could understand. They had been told horror stories about dragons and such from the older students. It was fine now though. They could see that no one had to battle dragons and it was all actually quite simple.
When they called her name, she smiled. "Hey, I'll give you a sign if it's bad or good, okay?" she promised the boy, and made her way through the sea of students to get to the stool.
After the hat announced her house, she stood up, giving the little boy two "ok" signs.

Hearing her name being called, Melissa looked to the girl next to her and gave her a faint smile before heading in front of the entire school. She was already fidgeting with her hands. Feeling them be a little bit damp from being nervous, she wiped them on her skirt, and then preceded to take the walk up to the stool that seemed like miles away.
Reaching the stool, she took a seat and brought her hands together again, fidgeting with her fingers. As soon as the hat was placed upon her head, she stopped fidgeting with her fingers and just laced her fingers together while she awaited the hat's answer.

Will was standing with his hands in his pockets. He would have looked bored if it weren't for his wide, attentive eyes and the way he seemed to be paying attention to everything.
When his name was called, he grinned and made his way to the stool. In truth, he didn't actually care where he ended up. It would only last for a few years, anyway, and it wouldn't define him.

Warren didn't need to wait long for his name to be called, and he quietly smiled when it was. He was very relaxed as he made his way up to the hat, but for a moment, he got distracted by a burst of lightning from the ceiling. He stared for a moment before a cough from McGonagall brought him back to reality and he sauntered to the stool and shoved the hat on his head.

Post by Lulu Starbuck on Dec 5, 2009 1:06:29 GMT -5
Lulu was fidgeting as she stood in line, waiting for them to call her name. She figured out pretty quickly that all she had to do to get Sorted was put that nasty little hat on her head and wait for it to shout out her house. All those stupid rumors of fighting dragons or dueling with the headmaster were just jokes to scare the kids. Well, Lulu didn't scare easily. She had seen more things than most kids her age, and learned more about life than they had.
She already had planned what she was going to do when she put the hat on her head. She was going to concentrate very hard on the house she wanted to be in. She was no Hufflepuff, that was certain. And she wasn't a Ravenclaw, either. Who'd want to be a stupid bookworm, anyway? She figured that left either Gryffindor or Slytherin. Her parents had been in Slytherin, and clearly expected her to do the same. This was why she was going to concentrate on Gryffindor.
Finally, after what seemed like an eternity, Professor McGonagall called out, "Starbuck, Tallulah." A couple of kids nearby her began to snicker and she gave them a nasty look. "Shut up," she said. "It's just a name. And besides, the name is Lulu."
Not that Lulu was much better, really. Honestly, if there was any doubt that her parents hated her, she had only to think of her stupid name. Honestly, who looked at a tiny baby and decided to call her Tallulah?
With one final death glare at the laughing boys, Lulu strolled confidently up to the stool and put the nasty hat on her head. "Please, not Slytherin..."
