"Well, we couldn't have you stuck in an office all day. I like having you go out with me. All the other people that work for father that have gone out with me just act like they are too stiff and too watchful. You, on the other hand, are watchful but you know when to let loose. I think that's why we get along pretty well." She was smiling again as she rested her head on Declin's shoulder.
Times like this were why she was glad that he was there. She could talk to him and it didn't matter what about. Letting out a laugh, she moved her head to look up at him. "I'm glad that you didn't close up after you met my father. If you want we would never be able to do anything like this." Her face turned into a slight more serious one. "After I finally tell my father about the shop, you'll still come by and visit me, right?"

Declin shuddered at the thought of working in the Auror offices, surrounded by uncooperative partners and flying owls and memo's. He had a vision of the stacks of paperwork new aurors we're in charge of and how he wasted six months of life on that paperwork.
That's the good thing about working in the mob. There's no paper trail.
Declin never really had other friends until he met Gabriella. In auror training, he saw everyone as competition, in school he kept close to his siblings or his school books. "Yea, we get along pretty great." Declin replied, thinking of how grateful he was to have a friend like Gabriella.
"I think your dad did just the opposite," Declin said. "I was a pretty quiet, keep to my self guy," He smiled. "But now I'm at least a little more open, don't you think?" he smiled at her again. but he quickly dropped it when she asked about the shop she was oppeing with Sedona. "Every day," Declin said. "All the time. Enough that you'd probably get sick of me." He laughed, and hugged Gabriella close.

Gabriella laughed and put her arms around Declin's middle as she hugged him. "Good," she said. "Although, I don't think I could ever get sick of seeing you. I see you almost everyday anyway, and it will be good to know what I can see someone close. I'm not sure how well father is going to take it. He probably wouldn't come by or anything like that." She let out a sigh.
She didn't let go of him as her head rested against him again. "I'm glad that you're here because I can always count on you to always treat me normally and accept what I do, like being friends with Sedona." Gabriella was glad that her parents weren't around at the time to hear what she said.
"And by the way, you have opened up a lot compared to be before. In fact, I think that you're open enough to go to a club..."

"Yea, I'm sorry, but I can't imagine that conversation with your father to be pretty," Declin said, shaking his head. That could be an understatement. nothing made Marcello Santino more angry that the Rossi family, and to find out that his daughter was going into business with Rossi's daughter, well...
"Shh..." Declin said, only half serious. "Don't let your mother hear you." he raised an eyebrow and jerked his head toward the kitchen.
She brought up a club and Declin pushed her back a little, still holding her arms gently, and he raised an eyebrow at Gabriella. "Club?" he asked. "Um..." Like mentioned before, Declin wasn't exactly social.

The day that she would finally tell her parents would be the day that she would have to be prepared to bolt out the door. She figured that her father would started yelling and everything and Gabriella knew that she wouldn't want to stay in the house with her father angry. She had only seen him angry once but it wasn't her that he was mad at.
Feeling Declin pushing her back, Gabriella looked up at him curiously. "Yes, a club. Of course you wouldn't be there by yourself. I would go with you. You wouldn't have to talk to anyone except for me."

"You know, you could always crash with me if worse comes to worse after you tell Mr. Santino," Declin offered. He was sure Mr. Santino wouldn't appreciate it entirely, but maybe he would? Either way, Declin had a feeling that his boss didn't really watch his mobsters' day-to-day lives.
"Maybe," He settled with the club. "You better not leave me alone though." He chuckled, sounding like such a wuss.

"I'll keep that in mind," said Gabriella. "Thank you for that offer." She smiled. She knew that she could always count on Declin whenever there was something that she needed. Maybe if the worst did come, her father would feel at least a little better if he knew that she was staying with him, but then again she didn't want to have to drag Declin into the middle of it. She couldn't imagine if her father found out that Declin already knew about it and never did anything about it.
"I won't leave you alone, unless of course some girl comes up and catches your interest." Gabriella looked at him teasingly.

"Anytime," Declin said. "Always. What kind of friend would I be if you couldn't count on me?" Declin smiled, adding the word 'dependable' to the imaginary resume in his head. "And don't worry about me getting stuck in the middle of you and your dad. I've been there since I first met the two of you." He chuckled.
"No, don't leave me alone ever," Declin said with a sort of panicked laugh. "I highly doubt my interest will be caught by any random women." He said. Declin didn't really have flings, and he didnt' date much either. It wasn't that he wasn't interested, it's just that the right girl hasn't come along yet.

Gabriella let out a laugh. "Okay, okay. I won't leave you alone at all. Besides, if you were to go, that would leave me alone. So, I can't leave you alone." Gabriella didn't date, nor did she have any flings, after all her father kept an eye on her. Plus, she didn't want to have to put some guy through the torture of having to go through her father and some of the guys that worked for her father. Goodness knew that they would find all kinds of dirt on the person and scare the poor guy half to death.
"We can dance the night away, and I don't want to hear anything about you can't dance, because I know that you can. And, you get to have the satisfaction that my father already likes you and doesn't mind that we go to a club."

"Good, we stick together," Declin said, slightly aware that he basically agreed to this club idea of Gabriella's. "And I never said I couldn't dance," Declin smiled. "I'm a very good dancer." He may have stayed in his shell most of the time growing up, but he wasn't a loner. Declin could dance (well, that was really just his opinion) very well. He just didn't like the idea of clubs and crowds of strange, sweaty people.
But if it would make Gabriella happy that they went...

"Great," she said grinning. "You can show me all of your good dancing skills. We'll have fun, promise." Gabriella knew that she probably wouldn't end up staying for a long time in a club. They would just stay for a little while, and then she would end up coming up with a better idea for them to go and do. That was how it usually worked. Her mind was always turning.
"We'll just go out and be ourselves for the night. I won't be a mobster's daughter, and you won't be my body guard. Well, I know that's how we are most of the time, but you know what I mean."

"Yea..." Declin said, still slightly uncertian. "Yea, we'll have fun." He smiled at her. He figured that, truthfully, they would be at the club for a bit, and then Gabriella would get a spark of an idea and they'd run off and do something else. Declin laughed to himself. Gabriella was lucky to have Declin, no other body guard would be able to keep up with her.
"Yea, i know what you mean," Declin nodded. They sure did have 2 seperate lives, there was Declin, the body guard and Declin, the...well, let's just stick with Declin, the best friend. "You're sure it's okay with your parents that I'm here for dinner?" Declin asked, even though he already knew the answer. He was hearing pots banging in the kitchen.

She gave Declin a fake shocked look. "Do you really have to ask," she asked. Gabriella laughed. "Of course it's fine for you to be here for dinner. Father likes you, mum likes you, and I like you, so it's perfectly fine for you to be here."
Her father valued family, and the people that worked for him was part of the family. Declin, however, seemed closer to the family. After all, he was Gabriella's best friend. She never really called him her body guard because he never gave the stand offish vibe most of the others could give off.

Declin chuckled. "I know I know, just checking," Declin said. He knew he was family in this house, it was just strange for him, so he liked to 'pinch himself' once and a while just to make sure. The title 'body guard' didn't really mean much to him. Declin's job was to protect people he cared about, that had been his job his entire life.
He only screwed up twice. Once when his mother was killed, and once when his brother and sister were kidnapped. Looking at Gabriella and smiling, Declin squeezed her hand again.

"And you know that you don't ever have to be invited to come over at any time," she said. "If you feel like coming over for anything during the day, just come on."
Gabriella smiled again. Her mind started to wonder, but she pushed the thoughts out as soon as they came in. Besides, her father probably wouldn't allow it. "You know," she said starting off with a teasing tone, "if we have fun at the club, which I know we probably will, we will have to go again." She gave a small laugh, but then shook her head. "Although, I'm not sure how padre is going to react to the fact that I'm going to a club, but then again I'm with you, so he should be pretty much alright with the idea, right? Even if he's not too keen to like the idea, we're still going anyway, however."

Declin knew this, he always had. Ever since the day he joined Marcello Santino's mob, Declin knew he was welcomed in their home. It was just a strange feeling that he didn't have to be cautious about where he was for once.
"You're pushing it Gabby," Declin teased as she tried to convince him to a second night of clubbing even before they went on the first. He chuckled though and leaned into the back if the sofa.

As Declin leaned back into the couch, Gabriella turned more sideways on the couch to face him. She raised her eyebrows. "A girl can plan," she said with a hint of a smile then reached out and poked his side, "can't she?" Her smile grew.
"At least I'm not making you help me plan some extravagant dinner, or better yet, at least I'm not making you tell my father that I have some kind of date or something like that." Gabriella looked at him teasingly.

Declin ran a hand across his face and shook his head as Gabriella gave the example about telling her father she was on a date. The last time that had happened, it was pretty awkward. Marcello had acted all cool and collected when Gabriella was here, but the second she left him and Declin alone, the mob boss was flying off the handle in full freak-out mode. he had insisted that Declin follow along, and Declin spent that evening awakwardly following Gabriella on her date.
"No, not that agian," Declin shook his head again. "Anything but that," he smiled good naturedly at Gabriella. "I feel worse for the poor guy you're going on a date with, first having to meet Mr. santino, and then spending the rest of the evening being watched by yours-truely..."

"Exactly. You don't have to worry about that," Gabriella said smiling. "And that is the reason why I don't date right now." She rolled her eyes. That night was horribly awkward. She felt worse for the fact that Declin had to follow them around. "I don't think I want to scare anymore guys for the time being."
She gave a laugh. "Plus, if we go out you don't have to worry about father sending someone after us to watch, and I don't have to bring you home to meet my father and tell him you're my date. He just already accepts you, and you also don't have to worry about 'secretly' following me."

"I don't blame the guy for being a little terrified, your dad's pretty intimidating," as was his job. "And "secretely" following you would be almost like stalking you. I was at the next table over," and making faces at Gabriella behind the poor guy's back. True thing was that everyone who went on the date had more fun than the poor chap that took her.
"Yea, I'm not worried about how you dad would feel about you hanging out with me," He knew that he ranked up as one of Marcello Santino's most trusted employees, right there with Ryder Strong, Marcello's right hand man.
