Taking the fabrics from Declin, Gabriella hurried up the stairs to her room. She put away the shoes and dress that she bought then turned to the fabric. Just leaving them in the chair beside her dresser, Gabriella caught her appearance in the mirror. Using her hands, she ran them through her hair rather than using the brush. She didn't want to make it completely obvious that she really did anything. It wasn't doing what she wanted it to do. Gabriella sighed and started for her door before she decided to do anything else.
Once she reached the bottom of the stairs, she quietly walked toward the living room and leaned against the doorway. "You know, you don't have to stand there like that. You're welcome to make yourself at home," she said smiling.

Declin looked at Gabriella as she leaned against the doorway. He grinned sheepishly. "I know..." he said as he stopped rocking. "It's just...wierd sometimes." He walked over to her. "It's my boss's house after all..." he shurgged.
"So what are we going to do until Dinner is ready?" Declin asked, looking at his watch again. He had just heard her mother go into the kitchen, and to his knowledge, Mr. Santino wasn't home yet. So it must be a while till dinner.

"I'm going to take that watch from you," she teased. "You know that you're always welcome just to take a seat on the couch and just relax. You're pretty much like family anyway. Dad wouldn't come in and get angry with you if you did." Gabriella smiled.
"We could always just sit on the couch like two lazy bums. If you didn't want to do just that, we have dominoes, the television, movies, and a chess set. Any of those are fine with me." She gave her own shrug.

"I know I know," Declin said. He put his left arm which wore his watch behind his back and smirking. "I just like to be on time is all," Declin smirked.
"Hmmm, too many options," Declin laughed. "You know I'm completely incapable of choosing anything. You pick something to do." He said.

Gabriella rolled her eyes. "I can't always be the decisive one in this relationship," she said playfully. Walking past him, she made her way over to the television. Before she reached it, she glanced over her shoulder and smiled. "I've decided we can watch a movie, however, you have to decide with one you're in the mood for. We have a couple John Wayne movies, and I believe we have a couple of horror. So, you're pick on that."
She bent down and opened the small cabinet beside the television before glancing back again.

Declin rolled his eyes playfully and took a seat on the couch across from the TV. "It's not my fault. I've never been able to decide on things like ice cream flavors or movie titles," he shrugged. She walked over to the cabinat that held her family's movies.
"um...John Wayne, i guess..." Declin said. He'd choose anything over horror movies. It was his little secret that they completely terrified him. He remembered watching them with Jace when he was really little. Though Jace would be fine and sleep through the night, Declin would end up crawling into his mother's bed in the middle of the night so that she would ward off any scary creatures.

"John Wayne it is," Gabriella said smiling. She loved American movies, especially westerns. It was just a little known fact about her. She put in True Grit and took a seat on the couch next to Declin.
Sliding her shoes off, Gabriella folded her legs up beside her as she got comfortable. Pressing play, she leaned back against the couch. "Next time you come over, we have to watch a horror movie. It's only fair that we do." She smiled as the movie started.

"I er...uh" Declin stuttered a little, then shut his mouth. It was the only thing he was absolutely bad at; lying. Sure, Declin could be sarcastic, he could fib or tell eccentric stories. But lying, especially to a close friend like Gabriella, there wasn't a chance he could do it. So he tried to get by with not saying anything and leaned back on the couch, getting comfortable and watching the movie.

"What," Gabriella asked looking over to him as the previews were playing. "You're not a fan of horror movies are you?" She could see the look on his face. "Don't worry, I promise it will not be too scary or if you want to we could just watch something else entirely. Plus, we'll just worry about all that when the time comes." Gabriella gave him a smile. She wasn't going to tease him about it. It wouldn't be right.
She shifted a little and her knees ended up resting against his leg but something like that was normal. Her head was leaned back against the couch while she was comfortable. She didn't bother to say anything else about horror movies, it wouldn't really be right if she did.

Declin blushed a little when she figured it out. It really was an embarrassing thing for a guy to admit to a girl, that he was afraid of horror movies. So he was thankful that she didn't ask any more about it. "Thanks." He said, but nothing afterwards. Declin just smiled and leaned back into the seat again as the movie started.

"You have to tell me what else you secretly like and dislike," she said as she continued to be turned toward him. "I promise that I won't make fun of you, but you already know that." Gabriella smiled.
For the moment, she didn't really care if the movie started or not. Even though she already knew a lot about Declin, she wanted to find out more if that was possible.

He turned to face her, the movie ending up being ignored. "Hmmm," He thought. "You already know me so well, what do you want to know?" Declin asked curiously as he tried to think of something interesting for Gabriella.
"I really really like German Chocolate cake." Declin laughed at his own random confession. "But I really dislike coconut." He added, laughing again.

"Can't say that I've ever had German Chocolate cake," she said with a shake of her head. "I don't really care all that much for coconut either." Gabriella turned her body away from the television as she turned toward Declin. She faced him and sat indian style on the couch.
"Let's see. What are some of your secret weaknesses that you haven't told me about yet? Can be food, movies, anything."

"That," declin smiled proudly. "Is the one and only thing I can make in a kitchen without it somehow exploding or being poisonous." He chuckled. "Next time you come over to make me breakfast, I'll bake you one." He chuckled. Good job Dec 'I can bake cake!'...really manly...
"Weaknesses?" Declin asked. Truthfully, he didn't think about weaknesses. There were things that got him angry or held him back, like his need for revenge against his father, or his obsessive search to find his Jace and Kendra. But he wasn't sure if thats what Gabriella menat by weaknesses. "I'm actually pretty shy," he said, a small blush creeping onto his face. "When I don't know people, I clam up, don't say a word, no eye contact..." He chuckled awkwardly.
"Okay you're turn," Declin said, trying to turn the spotlight on Gabriella.

Seeing that Declin was proud that he could make something without causing any damage made Gabriella want to laugh, but she kept that inside and only smiled. "Now that will be something I look forward to. There's nothing wrong with anything like that."
Hearing that he was shy made her give a light laugh. "Which is why I think I was the first one to say something, but there is nothing wrong with being shy. I think it's sort of adorable." Gabriella adapted another smile on her face. Being around Sedona, and coming from the family she did, she wasn't always shy. She didn't have a probably admitting what she thought was true. "My weaknesses? Well, you already know that I have a weakness for brand new ideas for clothing. I have a huge weakness for animals too. They're just so adorable, well most of them are anyway." Gabriella let out a laugh. "Let's see, you already know that I also have a strong weakness for good Italian food. Um, I think that is almost it."

"I remember the first time I met you," Declin laughed. "You're so confident, it was intimidating," he smiled at her. He didn't blame gabriella for her natural confidence. She was the daughter of a mob boss, her best friend was the same way, it was natural that Gabriella wouldn't be the least bit shy, something Declin was thankful for.
He grinned as she told him her weaknesses. He knew most of them, as she had said. He chuckled and took her hand, squeezing it a bit. "We know each other too well," he said with a smirk.

"I'm glad that I didn't intimidate you too much," she said with a laugh. Gabriella wasn't always confident. She had her insecurities but she also did have her moments when she could probably be one of the most confident people in the world.
She wanted to have been able to hide the blush that crept up on her face whenever he took her hand. It never failed for that to happen. "Maybe we do, maybe we don't," Gabriella teased. "You could still have skeletons in your closet for all I know." She squeezed his hand. "But that is not a bad thing. You don't have to tell me every single thing. I'm not complaining about it."

"Oh trust me, you intimidated me..." Declin chuckled. If she had told him that there were times she wasn't this amazingly confidant woman all the time, he wouldn't have believed it. But it was fine, he admired her for it.
When she mentioned skeletons in his closet, he frowned for a second. Gabriella knew about Declin's family, about his siblings and his father, but only the bare minimum; that he was looking for his father, who was a dark wizard and kidnapped his siblings, end of story from Dec's end.
He smiled at her as she finished though. "I know," he smiled.

She let out a quiet laugh. "I'm glad to know that I don't intimidate you anymore. At least now you pretty much know what to expect." Gabriella couldn't help what confidence she had. After all, she took after her mother in that sense.
Seeing the frown on his face, Gabriella squeezed his hand. "You know, I'm glad that we ran into each other," she said with a smile and moving so that she was sitting right beside him where their legs were touching and their hands on the top of her leg, "because quite frankly, it was far too quiet around here before hand. Plus, I have a lot of fun whenever we're hanging out. I don't think I ever recall us having a dull moment."

His smile erased any trace of the frown he had five seconds before. "Me too," Declin said. "I have no clue where I'd be today if I hadn't met you Gabriella." Declin confessed. "Probably backk working in the auror offices..." He made a face at the mention of his old job. It had seemed like a good idea at the time, and yea, the training would come in handy occasionally, but the strict rules, the doing everything by the book, it drove Declin crazy. The day he had met Gabriella, he had quit his job that morning, only months after completeing his training.
"Dull moments? Us? Never," Declin laughed. She had moved slightly, and they were sitting closely on the couch, knees touching, his hand in hers. It didn't really phase him as much as it would have if he was with someone else. He was with Gabriella, his closest and dearest friend; they sat like this often, talking for hours. He smiled at her and squeezed her hand.
