Gabriella laughed. "That's true. I believe my father would have not only my head but the Rossi's boy head on a silver platter." She shook her head. Gabriella couldn't see herself ever dating a Rossi. Being best friends with one, that was one thing. "Although, he would probably get mad even if I was just doing business. Other than you, Sedona is my best friend and we're going to be living together." Whenever she broke the news to her parents, all hell might break loose. "I'm not sure if he would come around to the idea. I'm just lucky you don't have a problem with it. You don't, do you?"
As long as she had someone else on her side Gabriella thought that she could do it. It was just going to be crazy.
Once the topic changed to cooking for him, Gabriella's face lit up a little. "Maybe you shouldn't really tell me that I can come over anytime," she said teasingly, "I might be over there first thing in the morning making you breakfast."

"No, I don't," Declin reassured her. He wrapped his arm around her shoulder and gave her a side hug. "I understand you're friendship with Sedona. And don't worry, I'll be here for you when your father flips." He chuckled.
"Are you kidding, I love breakfast!" Declin said, though he wasn't a morning person, he'd definatly try to be if it meant he'd wake up knowing he'd be eating a real breakfast, and not a cereal bar or something along those lines.

"So that means you'll get up early?" Gabriella smiled. "I remember the last time I asked you to come over early you were still groggy and you were mumbling stuff I couldn't understand." She let out a laugh.
Gabriella was pretty much an any time person. She wasn't too much of a morning person but after her feet hit the floor and she had a shower, everything was alright.
"I'll be over in the morning to make breakfast. I'm sure father won't mind me being at breakfast if I tell him I'm with you." Usually she was with Declin anyway if she wasn't at home. At least once a week she was able to go out by herself, mainly because she told her father that she was practically a woman and needed to be treated like one instead of some child.

"That was because I was up the whole night before working for you're dad. I got two hours of sleep before I came to meet you," Declin said, laughing along with Gabriella. He'd be a better morning person if working for Marcello didn't keep him up all hours of the night.
"He's going to start thinking you're only saying your with me cause you know he'll let you go then..." Declin shook his head and laughed. He really didn't know what he did to gain Mr. Santino's trust that easily. Maybe it was the fact that Declin valued family as much as Marcello did.

"Well, at least he knows I'll be telling him the truth," she said with a matter of fact smile. "I'll even bring breakfast things from the kitchen to your place so that he knows that I'm not kidding." Gabriella figured the reason her father didn't mind her spending so much time with him was she trusted him. "Besides, where else would I be going early in the morning?"
Once she gave him a teasing look, she pulled him toward a clothing shop. "Here we are. After this stop, we only have to get fabrics then we can make our way back unless you have somewhere you need to go."

"You never know," Declin siad. "Your father would come up with something extravagant..." He laughed. Not to say anything against his boss, but Marcello could sometimes be a little paranoid.
"No, I have my book, I'm good," Declin said simply. He followed her into the store, being dragged by the arm. It was something Declin had gotton used to early in their friendship, being dragged around, but he didn't mind all that much.

"Maybe we can find you a pretty little dress that fit your curves," she said laughing as they entered the store. The people in the store knew Gabriella as well. She waved to them as she let go of Declin to look on a sales rack.
Searching through the dresses, her eyes landed on a black one. She picked it up, and held it up to herself. Maybe it wouldn't make her look even paler than what she was. "I'm going to go try this on," she said before turning toward the back of the store.
Once she got to the dressing area, she closed the curtain behind her and slipped into the black dress. Reaching back, she realized that she couldn't zip it all the way up herself. Sticking her head out of the curtain, she looked for Declin. "Hey Dec," she said trying to get his attention. "I need your help for a minute."

"Ha, you're funny," Declin laughed as he stood back and let her search through the dresses. Not too long after, she picked up a black dress and considered it momentarily. She told him she was going to try it on and Declin nodded, finding a seat while she dissapeared into the dressing room.
After a few minutes though, Gabriella called for him and he stood up to find her dressing room. When he found her he instantly looked away and blushed, but quickly shook his head and did her zipper. "There," Declin said. "Now let me see."

Even though Gabriella was covered, Declin still blushed and as she turned around so he could do her zipper, a smile spread across her face as she moved her hair. Before she turned back around, however, she cleared the smile from her face. Gabriella fixed the top of her dress just as she turned around then fixed the bottom of it.
"There, what do you think? It doesn't make me paler does it?"

Declin stepped back and looked at Gabriella. He scratched his chin and put on a critical face, circling her and occasionally saying "Hmmm," as if thinking really hard about the dress. Then he looked at her and grinned. "You look fantastic Gab," Declin said. "I don't think you look pale at all."

She bit the inside of her cheek to keep herself from laughing as he was supposedly thinking. When he grinned, Gabriella rolled her eyes playfully. "You'd tell me I'd look okay if I was dressed in a paper bag," she said with a laugh. "But I do appreciate your honesty. I think I am going to get this one. I won't put you through too much more today." She smiled and reached the curtain but turned her back to him.
"If you can unzip it real quick, we'll get out of here before Marianne tries to get me to buy anything else."

"But I mean it," Declin said with a laugh. "You look exquisit," He said. She usually did, Gabriella was an extraordinarily beautiful woman.
"Okay, I'll see if I can keep her at bay," Declin said. Again, he blushed as he unzipped her dress. "I'll be out there..." He said, leaving the dressing room and waiting outside, hands in his pockets and looking around curiously.

The blush on her cheeks was hidden while she was turned around. There wasn't anything special about her, at least in her opinion. She was just an ordinary girl, who happened to have a mob boss for a father.
Gabriella thanked him while she held up the front of her dress after he unzipped it. "Don't let her attack you," she joked before she closed the curtain. Not wanting to leave Declin to the sharks, Gabriella hurried up and redressed. She opened the curtain again as she was putting the dress back on the hanger.
Since she noticed his hands were in his pockets, Gabriella took his arm and started to lead him up to the counter. "Afternoon Marianne," she greeted the woman at the counter. The woman started to proceed to ask if they wanted anything else but Gabriella waved it off, politely of course.
Walking the street again, she turned to him and smiled. "Well, at least she didn't come around asking you millions of questions this time. I think she kind of likes you," Gabriella teased.

She took his arm and brought him to the counter. Marianna made Declin a little uneasy, and with what Gabriella said when they got outside, it made more sence. "Well, she's nice and all, but she sort of gives me the heeby jeebys," Declin shook a little.
They walked down the road a bit before they reached the fabric shop. Declin held open the door for Gabriella and then took her shopping bags. "I'll hold these for you," Said Declin. "While you get what you need."

Gabriella laughed. "I won't let her get to you while I'm around. If you run into her on your own, I'm sorry." She winked. Marianne wasn't that bad she was just, Marianne. There was no better way to describe her.
"Thank you," said Gabriella as she walked into the fabric shop. She didn't protest with Declin anymore about who was going to hold her bags. It always ended up with him holding onto them anyway.
She had already gotten a bit of fabric when she had gone out with Sedona, but there was a specific type of fabric she was looking for and the lady told her it should be in by today. Although Gabriella was looking for just one thing, other fabrics caught her eye. A navy blue with a few patterns stitched on it, then there was a red fabric that looked like it would make a perfect dress. Picking the two up, she smiled sheepishly at Declin before grabbing a couple more spools of thread.
Once she had gotten everything, including the fabric she had been wanting, and payed for it, Gabriella picked up her items. "If you carry the fabric, I'll carry the bags," she offered.

Declin watched as Gabriella made her way through the shop, grabbing fabrics and threads and occasionally looking back at him, in which he would wave. He could tell that she was picking up extra fabrics besides the ones she and Sedona picked out, which explained the sheepish looks she kept sending his way.
While he waited, Declin saw a little girl with blonde pigtails walk around. He watched her for a moment before the girl skipped over and clamped onto who must have been her mother. Declin shook his head. No, of course that wasn't Kendra, his sister would be older now. Get a grip Dec. He thought to himself.
Soon enough, Gabriella was back with the bags of fabric in hand. He would insit on carrying everything, but he knew she wouldn't have that, so he nodded and took the fabrics, handing her her shopping bags and then he opened the door again.

"You're a real sweetheart," she said as her shoes made clacking noises on the sidewalk. "You don't ever complain about me dragging you around." Gabriella smiled. "My repayment to you is making your breakfast in the morning so you don't have to worry about burning anything." Of course, she was teasing him.
"Any where else that you want to go before we head back to my house? If you need to go by your place and change or something that's fine. I can just meet you at the house at dinner time."

"You know I don't mind Gabriella," He said. "I get to hang out with my best friend every day? Best job I've ever had." He smiled. "And to think I was going to stay an Auror." he laughed.
"No, like I said I don't need anything else," Declin said. He looked down at the clothes he was wearing. "I don't think I need to change though, what do you think?" She was the fashion expert after all.

She stopped for a moment and pretended to assess him. "Hm. I don't know about that shirt. It sort of makes you look a little fat," she said with a serious tone. Gabriella had a finger on her chin as she continued to 'look him over'. "You're hair, we'll have to do something about that too."
After a moment, Gabriella let out a laugh. "I'm only kidding. You look fine." She took his hand and apparated to her house.
"Once I get this stuff put up," she said once they reached the house, "we can hang around and do whatever until dinner is ready."

He didn't catch on that she was joking at first and self-consciously ran a hand through his hair. When she let out a laugh he blushed slightly and again wrapped his arm around her shoulder. "Have I ever told you how Halarious you are?" Declin laughed. They walked to the apparation point and then Gabriella took his hand and apparated to her house.
"Good deal," Declin said. He waited in the living room for Gabriella to get back, rocking back and forth on his heals, hands behind his back. Even though Gabriella was his best friend, Mrs. Santino always had him for dinner, and Mr. Santino treated him like family, Declin still felt slightly awkward about being in his boss's home.
