Camp Opening Ceremony

[Landon Travis]

Landon listened as Dumbledore announced the members of each group and was a little disappointed once he heard that he was going to be in a completely separate group from Remus and Rori. But it didn't really matter. He knew he would get to see them around the place. Besides, this would give him a chance to meet some new people. "Yeah, this definitely sounds interesting. I got grouped with Lockhart." He added, frowning slightly.

"Well, the food was just now served....so, no, you haven't missed anything important." James replied, grinning at Peter happily as he sat down. "Although, they did already divide everyone up into teams. Surprisingly, we're all together along with Rori and some other girls. It should be fun. The only potential problem is that we have some old Slytherin dude as our leader. So I don't know how that's going to work out." He shrugged, looking across the table at Remus. "What do you think?"

"Oh, uh...hey." Aaron greeted the kid, recognizing him as a fellow Hufflepuff. Finally, he had an excuse to ignore Gilderoy. "Nothing much has happened yet. All I know is that we're teammates. You, me, a couple of Slytherins, and some other random guys. You're McAllister, right?" He asked in a slight whisper.

[Remus Lupin]

"Hey, Pete," Remus greeted him. He looked over at the surly-looking Slytherin who was to be their team leader. "We're expected to work with him?" he said, frowning. "Yeah, I don't know about that guy. He looks... mean. But at least we're all together, right?"

[Lucius Malfoy]

Lucius groaned. "What can Dumbledore be thinking? Mixing the houses like that? I must have the lamest team ever! Three wretched Hufflepuffs and Snape!" He looked at Bellatrix. "At least we are on the same team... I suppose that should be some comfort. But honestly... they expect me to work with Hufflepuffs??"

[Dean Hallowell]

Dean frowned. "Yeah, but I got a whole group of ickle Gryffindors. I can't imagine anything worse." He shook his head. "I'm just going to have to do my best to make them completely miserable..."

[Bellatrix Black]

Bella forced a smile at Lucius. It was true, being on the same team was not the worst thing that could have happened to them, and she liked Severus even though he was still just a kid. She patted Dean's hand sympathetically. He really did have it worst of them all. "If you need an escape from the Gryffindors, feel free to stop by my cabin, Hallowell." She could use a reason to ignore her pathetic group.

[Rori Logan]

Rori laughed at Landon's comment. "You never know Landon, he may try and give you hair secrets," she said with a grin. "As long as you don't get fruity on me, you'll be fine." Rori glanced up at the boy's team leader. "This is going to be just great. In the girls we have one Slytherin. Not that I'm against them or anything, but still, this one I'm not so sure about."

[Landon Travis]

Landon chuckled. "Oh, you don't have to worry about me turning into Lockhart. I plan on staying as far away from him as I can." He frowned as he watched Remus's team leader conversing with some strange looking Slytherins- including Malfoy. "I've got a Hufflepuff leader on my team. So that should be alright. I've never seen or even heard of your guys' leader. Dean Hallowell? It doesn't sound familiar. But whoever he is, he seems to be hanging out with Malfoy over there. And that's never a good sign."

[Rori Logan]

"Good. Lockhart sort of scares me a little. I don't think guys should me that fruity," said Rori."I feel bad for the boys since Dean's their leader. I bet he's going to try and make things hard on them," she said. "I've never heard of him either, nor have I seen him around."

[Lucie Wright]

Lucie smiled at Elle, ''Hey El.'' She said and turned to Jon, she kissed him on the cheek, ''I'll see you later, OK?'' She said, ready to go and meet her team-mates.

[Lucius Malfoy]

"This has to be the stupidest idea Dumbledore ever came up with," Lucius grumbled. "I knew it was a bad idea to go to this thing, but I had no idea Dumbledore would try to use this to further his whole mudblood-loving 'working together' agenda. But I should have." He glared in Dumbledore's direction with disgust.

[Bellatrix Black]

"Well look at it this way," Bella said to Lucius, touching his arm in comfort. "Here's your chance to cock it all up, Dumbeldore's plans I mean. Take those stupid Hufflepuffs and mold them into something more. They'll listen to you Lucius, you're in charge. And they're probably too stupid to know any better."

[Lucius Malfoy]

Lucius smiled. "You do have a point there, Bella. And perhaps now is the time for me to forge a truce with Severus Snape. After all, we will be the only Slytherins in our group, so maybe we can team up together." He glanced over at the group of Hufflepuffs who were standing around looking lost. "Of course, most of them are mudbloods, but maybe we can teach them what their place is. I do like the idea of ruining Dumbledore's silly plans."

[Bellatrix Black]

"Well I suppose I ought to round up my little group." She stood and scanned the room for the girls listed to be with her. It was an odd pairing, having a Gryffindor, a Ravenclaw, and Slytherin. She doubted they would get along but then again, she wasn't here to make friends. She didn't want to leave her friends, and so she simply stood there, pretending like she was about to leave.

[Lucius Malfoy]

"Well, good luck with that," Lucius said. "The good thing is, as counselors, we can hang out together a lot. Of course, we'll have to avoid the other counselors..." He frowned. "It's like they just chose seventh years to be counselors simply because of age." He looked around for Severus and saw him talking to Justine. "I have no idea why he's friends with that girl. She should have been a Hufflepuff."

[Bellatrix Black]

Bella followed Lucius' gaze over to Severus and Justine. She didn't get along with Justine, thought the girl whined too much. "Really, Lucius. That's being nice. If I were in charge she wouldn't be at the school. Period. I suppose he has a crush on her or something?" She looked to Lucius for some sort of explanation, knowing he probably didn't have one.

[Lucius Malfoy]

"I think it's just because she's nice to him," Lucius replied. "You know how Severus is. He even talks to that insipid Ravenclaw girl. I don't know what he could be thinking." He sneered. "Well, I guess we should get this over with and get our groups together. The sooner we get them to their cabins, the sooner we can sneak out and do something fun."

[Bellatrix Black]

"Yeah, all right." She resigned herself to actually having to leave the group of Slytherins and go talk to the girls. "You want to have a bonfire in the woods tonight? You could bring Narcissa along."

[Lucius Malfoy]

"Sounds good to me," said Lucius. "I'll slip a note to Narcissa and tell her to sneak out. I don't think she'll have a problem." He nodded to her. "Good luck, Bella. I'll see you later." He sighed and walked over to Severus.
