"If it tastes like this again, then I agree," Roy said. "It's really good," he added, though it was probably due to his heightened senses that he could taste everything in the soup. While he ate, his fingers absently tapped on the table beside him. He made a mental note to see if Marina could help him tune his piano later; he was in a good mood, and it surprised him that he was even thinking about playing music again.

"We could always try different things. I could cook you whatever you have a craving for." She took a drink from her glass as she watched his fingers tap on the table. A light smile fell across her face. "You know, you should play for me some time. I would love to hear you play guitar or something." Caitlin had only heard Roy play once and that was because she went to his apartment to meet him.

"You should teach me to cook, I'm horrible at it..." Roy said. "It's not like music, I cant learn to cook by ear, you have to read the cookbook..." He realized she noticed his tapping fingers. "Marina got me into music when we were little, really little, like before my accident," Roy paussed for a second, he didn't like to talk about his accident. "Anyway, I can play a handful of instruments. I'll play for you anytime." he smiled at her.

"That wouldn't be a problem. Teaching you to cook will be fun. That will be something I will look forward to, and we can start anytime you wanted to." The smallest things could make Caitlin happy. Just hearing that Roy wanted to attempt something new was pretty exciting.
"That would be amazing. The only musical thing I can really play would be the record player, but its not really an instrument." Caitlin never asked about his accident because she knew things could turn for the worst. If he ever wanted to tell her about it, he would tell her on his own. She did her best to keep her curiousity in check. "So maybe next time you come over, or I go to your place you could play for me?"

He heard Caitlin put down her fork and reached out to where her hand was. "I'd love to," Roy said. he quickly realized he was letting his emotions get ahead of him. "Um..." He blushed. "This was really good Caitlin," Roy said quickly. "Um...I should bring some to Marina..." Great, now he was babling.

Before she was able to move the hand that just put down her fork, Roy was holding her hand. Even though they were friends, Caitlin wasn't used to holding anyone's hand. Her face turned redder than a hot eye on a stove. "Great," she nearly squeaked. "I'm looking forward to it." She tried to keep her voice even but she wasn't sure if she was failing or not.
"Thank you," she said modestly. Caitlin always thought that she was pretty average, nothing too extravagant. "Yeah, you can take some for Marina. There is more than plenty and you can take however much you want." She noticed that he hadn't let go of her hand yet. "I can help you carry it back, that way it will be easier."

He hadn't let go of her hand yet, and he was blushing, he could feel it. "Um, yea, if you could, that'd be great," he said. He didn't want to make things awkward...er, but he felt like he was at a loss too what to do next, so he reached to his glass of water. But instead of grabbing the glass, he knocked it over. "Oh crap!" Roy said. "I'm sorry Cait..."

She reached out with her other hand and sat the spilt glass upright. "Don't apologize," she said getting up from the table and slowly letting his hand go. "It's nothing to get cleaned up." Caitlin understood that it was an accident, it wasn't intentional.
Hearing him call her Cait made her pale cheeks brighten. It always seemed that her blush was twice as red as what it should have been because of her pale skin.
Since it was just water that was spilled, Caitlin pulled out her wand just to make things easier. She used the Air-dry charm to quickly dry everything. The only kind of magic she was really good at was the simple house hold charms. If she ever had to duel with someone, that more than likely wouldn't end well for her.
"See? No problem getting it cleaned up." She smiled and took his glass and refilled it with water before she sat back down.

Roy grinned. Leave it to Caitlin to not make a big deal of Roy's clumsyness. "Sorry," he apologized again. He then grabbed his water, careful not to spill again and taking a big sip. "Okay, so before that happened..." Roy laughed. "Um, what were we talking about?" He asked.

She didn't like the idea of making big deals, because she wouldn't have wanted someone to make a big deal out of her spilling or knocking something over.
At his laughter, Caitlin let out a small laugh of her own. She was trying to pull her thoughts back to before. "We were talking about how you agreed to play for me the next time I come over, I think." The thoughts were a little scattered in her mind, but she hoped that she was somewhere near what they were talking about.
Looking down at her empty bowl, she cleared her throat lightly. "If you're finished I could go ahead and take your bowl and wash it."

"Oh, right, and again, I'd love too," Roy said with a smile. Habitually, he stuck a finger in his bowl to find out if he was done with his food. The bowl was empty. "Yea, I'm done, thank you," Roy said. "I could help you clean up if you'd like?" he offered.

"If you really want to help me clean up, I'm not going to complain," she said with a laugh. Why should she tell him no he couldn't help her? She thought that some kind of anger would rise if she said denied him helping her. There wasn't any reason why he couldn't help her.
Caitlin stood again and took their bowls to the sink. "I can put soup into containers for you and Marina. You could put the lids on them and then we'll wash all the dishes."

Roy nodded and when Caitlin went to put the soup in the containers, he followed, moving through the kitchin with one hand on the counter, a habit he had picked up when he was younger and bumping into counters and tables. He put the lids on the containers when Caitlin handed them to him, and he shook them a bit to make sure they wouldn't spill on the transport home.

Caitlin carefully filled different containers, mainly so she wouldn't spill anything. It didn't take her long to fill a few up. Roy was extremely helpful, and she was grateful for it. Sure, she could have put the lids on top herself but she didn't want him to feel left out or anything like that so it was the least she could really do at the moment. After the containers were filled up and the lids were securely on, she stepped around Roy and made it to the sink with the now empty pot.
She started to fill the sink with water and dish detergent. Caitlin could have just done the dishes magically and have them put away but it gave a reason for Roy to stay a little longer. As she started to wash the dishes, Caitlin's eyes drifted to him. She couldn't help it. It wasn't that she was just staring at him because he was different, it was more of the teenage girl attempting to be discreet looking in the direction of a boy.

He could feel her looking at him. Most of his life spent blind, somehow Roy learned to recognize the feeling you get when someone was watching him. He smiled smugly and snapped on the last lid. A littlew shake, nothing spilled, all good.
"All good," Roy said, placing the container on the counter. He turned and leaned against the counter, crossing his arms and smiling.

Roy's voice brought Caitlin out of a small daydream. "Good," came her response before clearing her throat quietly. Her attention went back to the dishes and started to wash them. "If you look in the drawer by your left hip, there's the towels. Grab one and you can use that as the drying rag."
In a way, Caitlin felt like she had gotten caught in her attempting to be somewhat discreet while looking. Being subtle wasn't usually her thing anyway.

"Alright," Roy said. He reached to his left, opened the drawer, and after a minute of reaching around, pulled out a drying rag. As Caitlin watched the dishes, she handed them to Roy, and he would dry them and place them on the counter. They worked well as a team. Occasionally, when Roy would take a dish from Caitlin, their hands would brush, causing Roy to blush a little.

Caitlin tried to ignore any blush that wanted to surface while their hands brushed. She was twenty, not fifteen and sixteen again.
After the dishes were finished, she leaned against the counter once she dried her hands. "Well Roy you did good drying and putting away those dishes." She was smiling. "I really do appreciate you helping me. It has gotten things done a lot faster than if I was just here by myself."

"You know I never mind," Roy said with a grin. He dried his hands with the dish rag and then placed it on the counter. "It's good to be useful once and a while."
He had finally calmed his blush reflex down, mentally scolding himself for acting like a teenager. Being nineteen, he should be more mature about that. But there was something about Caitlin...
Roy shook his head a little, hopefully unnotacebly. He shouldn't bring hopes up thinking like that.

"With that being said, I do believe I might put you to work more often." She laughed. Roy truly was a big help. She could have done everything with magic but if she did, what else would she have done? Caitlin didn't care to sit around and do nothing, she always had to do something.
Roy's hopes of her not seeing his head shake weren't successful. "What is it?"
