Nick dressed up in the dress robes his sister helped him pick out. He felt sort of dumb, dressed up in some monkey suit, but a man's gotta do what a man's gotta do. After getting dressed, he stood at the bottom of the stairs in the Hufflepuff Common room, waiting for Roxanna. Roxanna stared at herself in the mirror, hoping she looked alright. Her hair was in its natural curls, and she put just enough makeup on to cover up a few blemishes and bring out her eyes. Taking a deep breath, she walked down the stairs to meet Nick.

Eve hesitated at the door. She hardly recognized herself when Viv turned the mirror her way, for the first time in her life she truly felt beautiful. SHe knew her mother was beautiful, but she had never believed it in herself. Little did she know that the proper haircut and grooming would have shaped her into this. She managed to get around Lance and Viv in the common room, she wanted Josh to be the first person, well aside from Viv and herself, to seewhat she looked like in all her finery. For an extremely modest person, or rather a person who had very little vanity, she was quite proud of her looks, she just hoped Josh would be pleased. "Josh..?" He was still leaning against the wall when he heard the portrait open. Seeing the beautiful girl that stepped out made him stand up quickly. "Eva," he said his eyes taking in everything. Josh took in a sharp breath and smiled. She looked even better than what he imagined. He took a step closer to her. "I don't really know what to say, other than wow." Josh wasn't all that shy with words around Eve, but tonight was one of the few times he was. Remembering what he decided before she stepped out of the common room, Josh took Eve's hand. "Come with me. There's something I need to tell you..."

Nick was leaning against the banister when he heard someone comming down the stairs. He turned and smiled at Roxanna. "Hey there," Nick said, he never really was the guy with all the words. "You look great Roxanna," he said, offering his hand.

Brenda giggled and tossed her head around. "I know, right? All these other girls and their silly little princess costumes... So boring. I bet most of them wouldn't know real fun if it came up and grabbed them." She winked at him, then came forward and pressed her lips to his in a bold, daring kiss that was guaranteed to leave him wanting for more. As she pulled away, she gave a light tug on his tie, then walked away, pausing to look over her shoulder at him with a come-hither look in her eyes. "Are you coming or what?" God, that girl could bring a grown man to his knees, Cameron thought as she looked over her shoulder at him. He had a thing for girls who knew what they had and used it, and for some reason he couldn't explain, a little tug to the tie would always turn him on. "You keep this up, Brenda, and we're not even going to make an appearance at this dance," he said, taking a couple of quick steps to catch up to her and put his arm around her waist, walking with her up to the staircase.

Roxanna blushed from Nick's compliment. She wasn't used to being told she looked nice, and always got embarrassed when she was told she was. "Thank you. You look nice too." She said, and took his hand. She was hoping she could break her shyness tonight and be able to talk to him, instead of being quiet and smiling all night.

Tyler finished tying his shoes and smoothed out his dress robes. He was pretty excited about taking Ophelia to the dance. Was he nervous like everyone else? Not really. The only thing that he was worried about was the fact that Ophelia's brother was going to be there. He hoped that nothing happened. He promised to meet her outside her common room to escort her into the Great Hall. Tyler was eager to see how Ophelia dressed up. He was pretty sure that she would nearly make him fall over, or just look like an idiot. His hair wasn't doing what he wanted it to do, so he just left it as it was. There was no sense in putting in a lot of gel. Making his way to the entrance of the Slytherin Common Room, Tyler's hands made it into his pockets. A lot of what-if questions entered his mind, but he tried to chase them away with images of what the night might hold. Standing straight, Tyler reached up and fixed his tie while he waited with a little bit of anxiousness. It was just like Ophelia to keep a boy waiting. As excited as she was, she took her time meeting with Tyler. She used the excuse of wanting to look absolutely perfect, but the truth was, she already looked perfect, and there wasn't a single thing to change. Her hair was piled on her head in a crown of blonde curls, and the fluffy blue ball gown brought out the color of her eyes. She was the exact image of a fairy-tale princess. Finally, she stepped out of the common room, a dazzling smile on her face. "Hi, Tyler."

Tyler stopped messing with his tie as soon as Ophelia stepped out. He could tell it was her without looking at her face. Her curls was what he noticed first. He let his eyes met her's and a smile, which he hoped wasn't too much of a dopey looking smile, spread across his face.
"Hello Ace," he greeted. He took a few steps toward her. Ophelia did look like she had just stepped out of a fairytale book, and Tyler was her prince. For a moment, he didn't say anything, he just took in her appearance. "You look," Tyler tried to search for the right word, but it wasn't coming to mind, "amazing." He could have chosen a better word to describe her than that, but she made all the good words slip from his mind.
Tyler wouldn't have really cared what Ophelia would have worn to the dance. She could have gone in her pajamas or extremely baggy clothes and he would have still gone with her. "You dressed up all for me," he asked with a little teasing behind his voice. "I feel extremely honored."

His unoccupied hand ran through his hair quickly, giving it that sort of winded look that he had after flying. He couldn't deny that he was nervous. He didn't know what to talk about. All he really knew was Quidditch. But he didn't want to make things awkward for Roxanna. She deserved this night just as much as any of the girls there. "So," he said, grasping at straws as he led the way through the common room toward the great hall. "Excited?"

Roxanna smiled nervously. "Yes. This is my first date, well, anywhere." She said, and regretted it almost immediately. "There's nothing wrong with me, mind you, it's just that I don't get a lot of attention." She looked to the floor, mentally slapping herself. When she was nervous, she either was quiet or she talked too much. "Are you excited?" She asked.

"You should," Nick said when she said that she didn't get a lot of attention. Nick could tell she was nervous, and strangely, it relieved Nick to know he wasn't the only nervous one. "Yea, I'm excited. I think it'll be a lot of fun." he said. "It's my first date too." he added as a side note.

Roxanna relaxed a bit. She was glad to know she wasn't the only one who never had a date. "Thank you," She said, smiling, "I know it will be a lot of fun." She just needed to open up a bit, talk without taking up all the time, and allow him to talk as well. She smiled wider, allowing herself to relax a bit more.

Somehow, Regina wasn't nervous about being in front of other people. It was just the possibility of tripping. Although, she thought that she wouldn't really have to worry about that to much, at least not while she danced. The beginning dance's steps were still fresh in her mind and she just hoped she didn't forgot them.
Her dress wasn't poofy anywhere, yet it didn't fall straight down either. The dress was simple, nothing that would scream 'Hey everyone! Look at me!'. Squeezing Thane's arm, Regina noticed that she was the last champion to arrive, however she still wasn't late. That fact seemed to relieve a little stress. "Ready for tonight," she asked trying to get her mind off the actual dance steps.

She was happy he thought her beautiful, never had she felt more valued or special than in that moment, and as always she'd follow him to the ends of the earth. She smiled up at him guilelessly, "I'm happy you're pleased...you look...well handsome as always." that was an understatement he looked beautiful, beautiful wasn't really a masculine term but it was true, he was the most beautiful man she knew, and as much as she loved Lance, she still thought Josh was a little taller, a little broader.

"Of course I look handsome," he said masking the fact that his ears turned red. "That's always a given." Josh was just teasing. He wasn't really full of himself, he just like cracking jokes about it.
He led her a little away from the portrait just in case Lance and Viv left. Josh didn't want anyone to interrupt what he had to say before he talked himself out of telling her. Giving her his wide smile, his face turned a little more serious. "It's nothing bad, so don't worry." Josh cleared his throat, still holding onto her hand. "All the times that we've been together, I meant to tell you then but I always seemed to talk myself out of it, especially when you went home with us. Eva, I'm just going to put it out there, I like you... a lot, more than friends. I have for awhile now and I'm tired of being chicken and not telling you."

Eve laughed briefly when he said it was nothing bad or nothing to worry about simply because she knew she looked worried and Josh had no trouble interpreting that fact. Finally she was able to listen to him even though the serious mien he took on was a little worrisome. When he told her his news she didn't understand at first.
Years of idolizing Josh, and also thinking herself quite unworthy spiraled against his confession and so she merely looked confused, then in a quite adorable way she tilted her head to the side, and asked, "Are you sure?" in the same tone she might have used were Josh to tell her that bugs were quite delicious.

Josh gave a small laugh. She didn't really believe him at first, or at least that's what he thought. Letting out the small laugh was just really his nerves. "I'm more than sure," he said. "I've thought about it for quite some time and Lance has even told me to go for it."
He gave her a wink, then moved a little closer to her. Josh smiled and leaned down a little. "This time, it's not going to be accidental." He gave another small laugh and touched his lips lightly to hers. Josh pulled away and looked down at her. "Does that give you any reassurance I'm positive?"

Eve saw him step forward and the wall behind her prevented her from stepping back, it was incredible to her that he'd have chosen her of all people. "Josh you could have anybo-" his lips stopped her words as lips were intended to do, and the simple knowledge that it wasn't accidental, that he was kissing her, indeed kissing her because he liked her. It all took her functioning away.
Then with some innate knowledge she answered his question with her own kiss, one far deeper than his momentary taste. Her body fit against his perfectly as her arms came up around his neck.

He was a little surprised when Eve kissed him as a response to his question. Not complaining, Josh put his arms around her tiny waist.
She was sweet tasting, yet there was something else there. He didn't know how to describe it. After a few moments, Josh pulled away but didn't let her go. "It's been hard not to just kiss you, you know that? I wasn't sure what your reaction would have been if I ever did do it."

"You were afraid to kiss me?" she asked a little amazed. She was shocked indeed her mouth spoke before she could filter sense into it, "If I had known I would have told you to do it a lot sooner." she nodded, "You can do it anytime you like." she closed her eyes at how silly she sounded and tried for her senses to come back but they wouldn't he had shattered them all then sent them into oblivion now she could only see Josh, hear Josh, smell Josh...Merlin he smelled nice, feel Josh, indeed she enjoyed the feel of him, but something beyond her wildest ken, was that she could taste Josh, he had invaded her entire being with a kiss.

"Yeah. I was. It's sort of like that time at Christmas when Lance dared me to kiss you. We couldn't have been more than six or seven." Josh laughed. This was a lot easier than he thought it would be.
"Let's get down to the dance before Lance and Viv start thinking something happened. That is if they are already there." Josh rolled his eyes. "And I'll keep that in mind that I can kiss you anytime I want." He grinned playfully at her. Leaving one arm around her waist, Josh motioned in the direction they should be heading for the dance. "Shall we?"
