Daniel turned and smiled at Julie as she walked over to them, glad for the friendly face. "You look great Julie," Daniel said with a wide grin. "We were just talking about how great the Hall looks," he said, gesturing to the decorations.

Andi looked down at her ring, admiring the way it sparkled in the light. She still couldn't believe that she and Ted had run off to France and eloped. It was crazy and impulsive, and... beautiful. Perfect.
They still hadn't decided whether to live in her apartment or his, or if they should consider going for a place in Hogsmeade Village. For now, he was staying in her apartment.
The ball was to be their first public appearance as husband and wife, and Andi was a bundle of nerves. She wanted to look perfect for him, but her hair simply wasn't cooperating. She wanted to put it up in a glorious crown of curls, like Narcissa would have done. But the curls kept coming out limp and crooked. In the end, she pulled it into a tight twist at the back of her neck, and left a few of the more cooperative curls hanging down.
She was dressed in red again, because she felt it was her best color. The long dress was made of multiple layers of a thin, filmy material that hung down in floaty layers. She liked the way it swished when she walked.
Once she was ready, she stepped out of the bedroom to find Ted already dressed and ready to go, waiting for her on the couch. "OK, I'm ready," she said, doing a little pirhouette in front of him. "What do you think?"

Ted was sitting on the back of the couch, his toes just touching the ground to keep his balance as he waited for her. He was waiting patiently, knowing that the way she would steal his breath away would be well worth the wait of her getting ready.
He snapped to attention when the bedroom door opened, and he took in the sight of her, smiling. "You look absolutely stunning," he told her, standing up straight and walking towards her. "I don't even know how to tell you how hard you make it for me not to rip that dress off of you..." he smiled playfully and crossed the room, kissing her.
"I am hurt, though, that you would rather go to this dance than stay hidden away here with me."

Andi melted into his kiss, closing her eyes. "As much as I love staying in bed with you... I really kind of want to show off my beautiful husband. I want everyone to see us together and be jealous of how beautiful and happy and in love we are. Is that selfish of me?"
She smiled up at him, and could already feel herself drowning in the blue depths. It really was hard to come up for air and leave their bed, and the more she looked at him, the more she wondered just why she was doing it. But he looked so handsome in his dress robes.
"Besides... I paid a lot for this dress and I didn't want to waste it."

(Darn it, I'm starting the ball.)
Alice arrived early to the ball with Frank by her side. As one of the house champions, it was necessary for her to arrive early, even though she would be one of the last people to actually enter.
Her knees were shaking nervously as she stood outside, waiting for Professor McGonagall to direct her where to go. She was dressed in a long, flowing gown of deep red velvet to match her house colors. Her hair was swept up into a pretty twist in the back of her head, and just a few little wispy tendrils hung around her face.
"Are you sure I look OK?" she asked Frank.

Frank was pretty nervous about the dance and hoped that he wouldn't mess up, however he kept a calm like appearance. His dress robes were neat and fit nicely.
As he walked with Alice down the hall, he held onto her hand and couldn't help but smile everytime he looked at her. She took his breath away.
Squeezing her hand, Frank looked at her. "You look more than OK, you look amazing, I promise." He smiled. "And just take a few deep breaths so you won't be so nervous. Everything is going to be fine."

Alice smiled and leaned in to kiss him quickly. "I can't help being nervous..." she said. "I mean, all eyes are going to be on us. And I know you'll be fine, but what if I trip or something? Or I get a really bad case of static cling and my skirt rides up and shows off my underwear?"
She giggled nervously, realizing that she sounded like an idiot. "I'm just glad you're going to be next to me. I wish you could be there for all of the challenges, too. I feel more confident when you're with me."

"I'm here to catch you if you trip, but I highly doubt that you will." He gave her an encouraging smile. At her next comment, Frank laughed. "That won't happen, promise. Besides if it did, you know that I'd hex anyone who ever made a comment about it." He gave her a playful wink.
"I wouldn't be anywhere else. You do fine at the challenges, but then again I suppose I am a little biased on that."

The truth was, he would have gone anywhere with her. He let out an audible sigh, and gave her another once over, albeit, a slow one. "You are so beautiful, Andromeda," he said, his voice quiet as if it hurt just to look at her. "I shall have to posess you utterly." However he had been lucky enough to win her back, he was going to thank his lucky stars everyday.

Andi blushed. When he looked at her like that, it was difficult for her to breathe. He made her feel so incredibly, breathtakingly beautiful. It was a feeling she wasn't entirely used to having, but she could definitely learn to get used to it.
"You already do," she said. "I'm yours, totally and completely."
She wrapped her arms around him, closing her eyes as she kissed him. She just wanted to disappear into him, leaving all the pain of the past behind. "How could I ever think that I could live without you?"

Dean sighed as he glanced in the mirror to tie his tie. Jackie still refused to speak to him or even really look at him, but tonight he wasgoing to make sure that she did finally speak to him even the words 'I hate you' came from her. Having her just ignore him like that hurt beyond anything and nothing felt right anymore.
Straightening out his top robe of his dress robes, Dean turned away from the mirror. He asked Jackie to go to the dance with him and he was determined to have her go with him. He planned on waiting for her by the Great Hall. There, he would be able to at least have a decent chance to speak to her.
Running his fingers through his hair to at least try to make it look kept, Dean left his room and walked straight for the entrance hall. He arrived there, seeing no signs of Jackie. His heart started to pound in his ears. He had to do this.

Jackie had adamantly warned both Reese and Sin that trying to get her to go to the ball would result in death. A painful one involving spoons.
That didn't stop Reese, who evientally had no fear of spoons. He even bought Jackie a dress, and how could she throw that back in his face? Still, it took him most of the day to convince her to wear it and get made up, and the result was stunning. It barely even looked like the tomboy who dressed for comfort under those school robes.
Her hair was up in a pile of curls on her head, a few loose ones framing her face. Suddenly, everything about her from those curls to the way the dess hugged her frame seemed delicate and pristine, rather than the tough and muddy Jackie they all knew. And she looked comfortable like that as well.
She glared at Reese when he whistled at her, but allowed him to lead her out of the common room and down to the Grand Ballroom. It was at the top of the main staircase, however, that she stopped, her eyes locked on the boy at the bottom.

He was waiting patiently. If it was one thing that Dean was really good at, it was having patience. Even though he was being patient waiting for her, Dean became more nervous as time clicked by. He was fidgeting with his thumbs behind his back as he stood at the bottom of the staircase.
Dean wasn't paying attention at the staircase for a moment and he looked down at the ground as he rubbed his eye. Before he finished rubbing it, he could feel someone else's eyes on him. Looking up the staircase, Dean stared back at the girl at the top. He wasn't paying any attention that Reese was there with her, his attention was solely on her. She looked, well there weren't any words that Dean could think of that would really describe her, because gorgeous was not near strong enough.
Clasping his hands back together behind his back, a slow smile appeared on his face. He was happy that she was even coming. Part of him wanted to march up that staircase and just take ahold of her, but Dean took a deep breath and waited for her to come down.

"Reese, I can't," Jackie said, pulling back, causing the other boy to look at her, and then at Dean.
He pulled her down the first couple of steps, though she was completely unwilling, and promised that he would step in if he had to.
Jackie's heart started to pound. This wa exactly why she didn't want to come to the ball. She knew she would run into him, and it still hurt so much. She broke eye contact, looking around for Zoe. Then she wondered if Dean was standing there waiting for Zoe. That would kill her, and she turned to look behind her just in case.
By the time she reached the bottom of the stairs, she lowered her eyes and tried to avoid Dean.

The smile that was on his face at first, disappeared as Jackie seemed to not want to come anywhere near him. A frown set itself on his face as she was practically pulled down the stairs. That hurt more than anything, especially when she started to look behind her. Dean had asked her to the dance, didn't she remember that much?
As she reached the bottom of the steps, Dean's throat tightened slightly but he cleared his throat and looked to the boy that brought her down the stairs. It was going to be now or never. Swallowing the nervousness, Dean walked over to them. "Reese," he said greeting him. He turned to Jackie and it was audible that his breath caught. She looked even more perfect up close. "Hey Jackie."

When they reached the bottom of the stairs, Reese let go of Jackie's hand. She was close enough now that she wouldn't run, and he had faith that Dean would catch up to her if she did.
Yes, he promised Jackie once that he would keep Dean away from her. But he heard how Dean had stayed by her in the Hospital Wing, and that he was the one who saved her, and he was beginning to believe it was all a giant misunderstanding. Jackie wasn't happy, Dean obviously wasn't happy. Something had to be done.
He smiled and gave Dean a knowing look before he stepped away.

Jackie barely even noticed. Her attention was on Dean, and her heart was pounding and she could barely breathe. She wanted to be mad at him, to yell at him, but how could she? It was just... Dean.
"Hi, Dean," she said quietly.

Catching the knowing look from Reese, reminded Dean that he was going to have to thank him for this even if it didn't turn out for the best. At least he was giving him time to talk to Jackie alone.
"You look," Dean paused for a moment trying to search for any word that would help him, "beyond amazing." He stuffed his hands in the pockets of his dress pants. A smile spread across his face. "I'm glad that you came. I was hoping that you would. I would have gone up to your common room if you didn't come down." For a moment, he felt a little awkward. "Anyway, I um, I got you something." He reached in his pocket and pulled out a small bracelet. "My mum actually sent it because I asked her what I should do for you for the ball. She said that I should give you this. She said that she would have sent something like a corsage or whatever those things are called, but she was scared that it would be messed up by the time it got here."

Jackie was kind of confused. He was talking to her like nothing happened at all, like he was just there, ready to take her to the dance. He was talking to her like she wasn't sure they would ever talk again, and for a moment, she didn't want to ask what the difference was. She didn't want to bring up Zoe.
She wanted to hug him and tell him how much she missed him, and her eyes nearly welled up with tears. She looked at the bracelette, unsure what to say, and just bit her lip in silence.

"Here, let me," he said reaching for her wrist. Gently he held it up and then put carefully clasped the bracelet around her wrist. Dean smiled after it was put on her arm and then raised his eyes to meet hers.
"I asked you to go to the ball with me, and you said yes. I wanted to go with you then, and I still want to go with you. So, I thought that I would find you and bring you here if you didn't come." Dean spoke with some confidence in the almost awkward slience. Like Jackie, he wanted to hug her and tell her how much he missed her but he refrained from it for a few more moments.
