Alenna relaxed as Jeremy wrapped his arms around her. Now all they needed to find was Nolan. "We haven't seen him." Alenna replied. "I hope he's back at the castle by now though, from what I hear, it's become a full out battle down there."

Jeremy frowned worriedly. "Why did he have to go back there? He'd have to be crazy... it's just chaos. What did he think he could do? Now he's just one more person we have to worry about..."
He let out a sigh and hugged Alenna tightly. "They told me that Professor Dumbledore was away from the school this morning... they're trying to contact him now. It's almost like they knew. I just don't understand... why? Why would they do this? What did we ever do to deserve this?"

Lilac sighed she walked into her brother's room and lightly fingered his things trying to think of where he could be. She drew a sweater from his closet meaning to have done so earlier before she went walking around a drafty castle when she was sick, she put it on now and it completely dwarfed her, but she was comforted wearing it. She met Lyra again in the hall and nodded, "Let's try the other rooms..." She could tell Lilac was upset by finding an empty room, and Lyra really did hope that the boys were all hanging out in the other dorm. She nodded and headed down the stairs to next dormitory. Lyra wanted to say something to comfort Lilac, but she didn't know what to say. She needed comforting herself.

Evelyn was running down the hallway when students began appearing, seemingly from nowhere. Many of them were hurt, a few severely. They were talking about an attack on Hogsmeade by the Death Eaters. Zonko's had been blown up, which accounted for the thundering boom she had heard from the library which shook the shelves. Evelyn was looking for Rayne when she ran out to the courtyard, where instead she saw Angelo standing not far off from a couple of Slytherin students. She ran over to the seventh year. "Angelo, Hogsmeade's been attacked by Death Eaters! Where's Rayne? Did she go to the village today?" Angelo shot up from this, and listened quietly to the conversation that ensued. He hadn't seen Rayne, and decided it would be better to try and get to the hospital wing and help Madam Pomphrey as much as possible. He gave a small grimace at what he thought he might encounter, but shoved it off his face in a few seconds. "Evelyn! Who else do you know?" He asked softly, still a little shocked. How could people be so cruel? Students who were like Brynn, so small and shy and unsure of themselves.

Lilac was very worried for her brother but her natural intuitiveness reached out to Lyra's distress and she inquired in the way only the innocent could, " You're not just worried about my brother are you?"
She didn't like not knowing if Ethan was safe, she didn't like this perpetual upset, but it would have been selfish for her to ignore Lyra's potential pain.

Evelyn turned to Angelo when he addressed her, and tried to keep her voice low so Rayne wouldn't hear. She didn't want to start anything between them again but she was really worried and needed to know. "Angelo, can you find Rabastan for me? Please! I haven't seen him anywhere and I'm really worried."

Lyra continued to walk the stairs, fighting with herself on whether to ignore Lilac's question or answer it. Lyra had seemed vulnerable enough these days and she didn't know how far her humiliation had spread across the school. Would a friendless Gryffindor poke fun at her? Or maybe Lilac needed to know, so she didn't feel alone in her concern. "No. I know Sam is in Hogsmeade for sure. And Julian ran after her, and they haven't come back. And..." Rystain might be out there.
She sighed as the list went on and on in her head. The only person she knew that was safe was Collin. None of her real friends could be found, and she knew what that meant. She wouldn't say it to Lilac, the fourth year was too innocent to have her hopes smashed this soon. And there was still a chance that Ethan could make it out okay. But if they hadn't found him by now, and he hadn't found them either, he was certainly in Hogsmeade.
She opened the door to the seventh year boys room, which was an odd enough feeling in itself. She hadn't been in this room in a while, not since before the whole thing with Lani and Rystain. And it wasn't even Rystain she had been with. Lyra looked over at Lilac, who probably knew nothing of what Lyra was feeling, and then stepped inside.

Lilac seemed to accept that as an answer although she sensed that there was something Lyra wasn't telling her. That was alright, they didn't know eachother well anyway, but so much the girl had offered solace as well as assistance made Lilac like Lyra already.
She held her breath as they peered into the room.

I just don't understand... why? Why would they do this? What did we ever do to deserve this?" It upsetted Julia that no one had heard from Nolan. She was looking around wildly, her blonde hair getting in her eyes. "Sometimes no one has to do anything Jeremy," Julia said. "Sometimes there are people that just induce fear." Nolan right now was being one of those people. No, he wasn't one of the death eaters, running around hogsmeade and attacking innocent people, but he was scaring the sh*t out of not being here with his friends.

The room was empty.
She had been expecting as much, but Lyra's heart still sank a little. The stale air seemed to exaggerate the emptiness of the room and Lyra didn't stay much longer than a few seconds. She turned back and pushed past Lilac. "Let's check the other rooms," she said quietly as she passed Ethan's little sister. Not all of the other dormitories were empty, but none held anyone who had seen Ethan, Rystain, Ryan, or Sam.
Lyra tried to seem optimistic as she returned to the common room with Lilac in tow. "I know he's fine, Lyla. I know he is." She didn't know what to do next. They could keep searching the castle, but she wasn't sure what kind of a state Lilac was already in. Or how she would react if they still didn't find him when they had searched every room and corridor.

Lyla couldn't take much more of this that was for sure. Where was Ethan? Why wasn't he here? Why wasn't he with her? She thought perhaps she was being selfish but she didn't care, she wanted her brother. She was close to panicking except she knew that Ethan wouldn't want her to panic, Ethan'd want her to be brave and to keep hoping. She wiped at an invisible tear on her cheek and nodded to Lyra that they would keep looking.

It was odd feeling sympathy for a girl she hadn't had as much three minutes alone with before today. And it didn't make her worry less about any of her friends. But it did give her something to do to keep herself from going insane like Lilac seemed to be. The girl nodded and Lyra nodded back with a weak smile. "Hospital Wing?"

Lilac took a deep steadying breath and nodded, "Alright." she hated the thought that he could be in there injured or...worse, but it was better than not knowing, she needed to know that he was...well whatever he was. Really she needed to know that he was safe, but the not knowing anything at all was worse than knowing he was hurt, at least it was right now.

Lyra hated the way Lilac had said alright. It was a depressing sound that seemed like it didn't really want to be said. Lyra had mixed feelings about finding Ethan in the hospital wing. If he was there, that meant he was hurt. And hurt badly enough that he needed to stay in that crowded room instead of just coming back to his dormitory to lay down. But if he wasn't there, that meant he was still out there in the attack. He might be fine out there but what if he wasn't? What if he was laying in the street somewhere... Lyra shook her head to clear the mental image. She couldn't think of that now. She wasn't about to start crying in front of a Gryffindor.
The walk up to the hospital wing was taking longer than the walk to the dungeon. Partly because Lyra wasn't chasing Lilac as she ran full pace. But also because of the crowd. They came up to the entrance hall, which was more crowded than ever. The professors must have gotten everyone inside by now and no one seemed to want to go to their common rooms. Lyra didn't blame them.

Ethan thought he could make his sister feel better by bringing her back some chocolates from Honeydukes. Honestly, it was the only reason he even went to Hogsmeade, since Lyla was sick. But she fell asleep, and he saw his oppertunity to do something nice for her.
Once the attack began, he couldn't bring himself to leave. So he stayed and helped, and only headed back to the school when Hogsmeade began to empty, very few students remaining. He thanked Merlin a thousand times that Lyla hadn't been here, but he couldn't help but worry about Lani, Ryan, and of course, Lyra. He hadn't seen any of them, and he was worried. If they had been here, they had to be back at the school by now. They had to be.
By the time he was back, he could barely get inside. The entrance hall was jammed with students. The staircase to the hospital wing was too far away, with too many students to weed through, and he was supporting an injured Gryffindor, a boy close to him in age who had a nasty gash on the side of his head that was bleeding. Other than that, he seemed fine, but probably lost too much blood and couldn't do well on his own two feet.
"Hold on, Nolan," he said, then louder, to be heard over the noise of the students, called out, "I need help!"

Lyra continued to attempt to push through the crowd, constantly checking that Lilac was still with her and still holding up as well as she could. The hall was loud but she distinctly heard Ethan's voice carry over the noise. Lyra stopped in her tracks and looked around, finally spotting his gorgeous blond hair only five people over from her. "Ethan!" She carelessly pushed people out of her way, expecting that his cry for help was because he was injured. But he wasn't, it was another boy that Lyra couldn't care less about. Certainly not at this moment. "Oh Merlin, you're alright!" She kissed him twice, ignoring the boy he was helping.

Well that was one person he could cross off his list. "Hi Lyra," he said, almost cockily. "You weren't worried, were you?" He added, teasing her slightly. In actuality, he was extremely relieved to see her. "You weren't in Hogsmeade, were you?" He asked, trying to keep Nolan on his feet. It was with that thought that he remembered where he was.
"Lyra, can you help me get him to the Hospital Wing? I just need people to move."

"Lyla was worried sick about you." She didn't admit that she was too, though she clearly was. Lyra looked over her shoulder to Lilac, who was still caught in the crowd. "No, we were here the whole time. Lyla's been having me run around the castle looking for you." Her heart was beating rapidly in her chest, it was such a thundering sound that she was sure everyone else in the room could hear it too. Adrenaline was rushing through her body, she was so happy to have found him.
"Oh, the hospital wing." This was the first time she had even looked at the boy Ethan was helping. It was Nolan, a cute Gryffindor Lyra had looked at a few times, but never spoken to. At least, not outside of lessons. "Sure thing." She helped to keep Nolan up by lifting his arm around her neck, opposite of the side Ethan was holding him on. She said nothing of the dirt and blood that fell on her robes as she did so, and they began moving through the crowd toward the staircase. Lyra shouted fiercely at people to move out of their way as they went.

Julia spotted him first. A slytherin boy in Ju's year, Ethan, was carrying Nolan. "Merlin..." she whispered before pushing through the crowd of people. "Nolan!" Julia yelled, reaching the others. She didn't know whether to be mad or worried, but decided to be mad later, once they knew if Nolan would be okay. Julia turned to Ethan. "What happened?" she asked.

When Julia called out Nolan's name, Jeremy looked around and saw his friend being supported by a Slytherin boy. He gave a panicked look at Alenna, then pulled her over to where Nolan was.
Up close, the injury looked a lot worse. There was a lot of blood. Jeremy gasped, then pulled out his inhaler to take a quick puff. "What happened?" he gasped, echoing Julia's question.
