Roland glanced at Riley, as if looking for a response from her. "I guess we can for a little while," he said. He turned his attention back to Ted. He barely knew Tonks, despite the fact that they were around the same age. Veronica was a bit older, and her reputation as an auror was pretty good. "Why? Everything seems normal... Looks like it's a Hogsmeade weekend for the students. Did you hear something?"

Nikita's smile hadn't diminished since her last date with Vaughn. She genuinely liked him, and she liked teaching. Truth be told she thought she could make a go of this life, teaching and being with him. She didn't dare look too far into the future, but it was possible she could start over here, that she was safe here. It was a good feeling. She had another date with him, to the dance, and she couldn't help the young girlish feeling inside of her that made her want to jump and scream. Of course she hid all that beneath a layer of calm.
Currently she was at Madame Puddifoot's catching a spot of tea and keeping an eye on the students.

Veronica shook her head, but her expression was serious. "It's more like a feeling," she said. "Sort of an energy in the air... something ominous. I know... it sounds crazy. But stand here a minute. If you don't feel it, you can go. But it's making the hair on the back of my neck stand on end."
She looked at both Roland and Riley, imploring them to stay.

Sin was annoyed. With himself and with her, and with this whole situation. He knew someday would come and things might change between them, it was strange when your best friend was a girl for so long, you forgot to see her as a girl. Sure enough Alyx was probably thinking that things might turn out the way they did for Dean and Jackie, well that wasn't turning out so well right now anyway, and that besides Sin was anti-commitment. He didn't want to hurt her, but he wasn't pig headed enough not to realize that by ignoring her he was hurting her, still it was his natural defense mechanism.
When Christine joined it was like breathing fresh air the tension, and the quiet were getting to him.
"Please." he said almost desperately but retaining a note of indifference to appear grateful but not in a begging sort of way.

Riley really didn't want to get distracted from their assignment, and she felt like they were on a good run of it, and she waited to hear Ted's answer before she agreed that they could take their time away.
She didn't want to be rude about it, but they all had things to do. She was somewhat angry at Tonks anyway, for what he had done to Andromeda, so she had an expectant look on her face waiting for his answer.
But the answer she got made her raise an eyebrow and glance at Roland. "A feeling?" she repeated.

But Roland was already quiet and looking around, as if listening to some voice that no one else could hear. He held up one finger to Riley, telling her to wait a moment.
If it had just been Tonks, he might not have bothered. But he trusted Veronica. She'd been doing this longer than he had. If she had a feeling that was strong enough to summon backup... it was worth listening to.
"I think we'd better stay," he said quietly.

Sirius was walking into Hogsmeade with Andi, and James, Robin, Peter, and Remus were following close behind them. Since Remus was still not talking to Sirius, he had agreed to be separate from them all just a little bit. This was the reason he was walking with Andi.
As he looked up at his cousin, he noticed that she seemed unusually nervous and tense. "Andi? Are you OK?" he asked softly.

Andi frowned and looked down at Sirius. At first she had just been nervous at the prospect of seeing Ted. But as they got closer into town, she started to feel the same strange energy in the air. It was like the air before a violent thunderstorm. Andi was suddenly feeling very tense.
"I'm not sure," she said. "Stay close to me, OK?"

Nolan was waiting by the entrance on the school, bouncing on his heels, bored. He was waiting for Jeremy, though he suspected that perhaps Alenna might be joining them. He didn't mind at all, of course. He had also extended to invitation to Julia, a good friend of his, but he wasn't sure if she would take it or not. He would find out there. "Come on, Jeremy. You're killing me," he said out loud, to no one in particular. Julia wrapped her red and gold scarf around her neck and ran down the grand staircase, jumping off the third step and landing gracefully on the landing. She was going to go into Hogsmeade for a little late holiday shopping. Nolan had invited her to join him and Jeremy, along with Alenna Gavin who was in Ravenclaw. At the entrance of the school, she found Nolan waiting impatiently. "Hey Nolan," she said. "Jeremy's taking his time then?"

"Who? Me?" Gage said, running to his friends. "Hi guys, sorry I'm late." he said excitedly. Gage had never been to Hogsmeade before, and Seth promised that it'd be a lot of fun. "So, what are we going to do first?" he was nearly jumping up and down. Seth laughed. He enjpoyed Gage's excitement. It was like a kid at a candystore. Hey, a candy store... "How 'bout we bring him to Honeydukes?" Seth suggested. "Gage i swear you've never seen more candy in your entire life." he laughed.

"Yea, let's just fill the hyper 12 year old up with sweets," Bek laughed. She stood up and wiped the snow off her robes. "Come on Gaget, the love birds here will follow shortly," she winked at Maxi before leading the excited Ravenclaw off to the sweets shop.

Nolan's restless bouncing eased when he saw Julia, and he smiled. "Hey you," he said warmly, then nearly glared back into the castle.
"Yeah, Jeremy's taking ages. I'm half tempted to just leave him here and have him find me in Hogsmeade. Are you joining us today?"

Riley gave Roland an incredulous look, and turned to look back at Ted and Veronica. She, much like Roland, was staying only because of Veronica.
She sighed and closed her eyes for a moment, only feeling safe to do so because there were three other Aurors around her. She listened.
Behind the sound of the happy children, she could almost feel it, too. She also remembered they were supposed to trust their instincts, and her brows furrowed. She nodded, and opened her eyes again.
"We'll stay."

That sealed it for Ted. All four of them felt something off, enough to make them wary. It was as good as written in stone to him.
"We need to try and find whatever it is and stop it first," Ted said, and he still had the feeling that he would want a lot more backup. He was probably being paranoid. Even if something bad happened, the four of them, plus Andromeda, should be able to handle it. They were trained for things to happen.
"And we should find her." By her, he meant Andromeda, and maybe Veronica would be the only one to understand.

Jackie gave Sin another look, this time nudging him under the table with her foot. She wanted to ask what was going on with him, but not in present company.
"You know what?" She said, getting to her feet. "I'm going to go get a couple more butterbeers... for me and Christine... so go ahead and have that one, Alyx. I'll be back in a second."
She left before they could object and stood in line, waiting to order.

Cassidy was running a little late that morning, but she still insisted on stopping by Tyler's house before heading into the office. She did this nearly every morning. She told herself it was just part of the job, but the truth was, she liked to start her day by seeing his face. She would never tell him that, of course.
Although he had a coffeemaker of his own--or so she presumed--she had made a habit of stopping by Madam Puddifoot's to pick up a cup of coffee for him. So now she was dashing through the streets of Hogsmeade with a cup of hot coffee in her hands.
And she felt the strange energy in the air as well. She felt it so strongly that she started eying the faces of everyone she passed. She even seriously considered turning back and looking for the Hogsmeade patrol. But in the end, the cup of coffee in her hand motivated her to continue her course. She felt certain there would be time afterwards to check in with the patrol.
When she reached Tyler's house, she took a breath and unconsciously smoothed out her hair before knocking on the door.

Tyler had his ups and downs, always trapped in his home. It was better than Azkaban, but not by much. At this point, the only things missing were the dementors. He woke up every morning feeling like he was in prison.
Cassidy had seen the full range of these ups and downs, though they had been getting progressively better since she had been checking on him so often. He felt bad about the days he would snap at her. No matter how many times she told him it was okay, he would still apologize profusely. He told himself he just craved the company, but part of him was scared that she would give up on him too, and eventually just stop coming.
Today, despite feeling odd even this far off the edge of town, was a good day.
He opened the door soon after she knocked, a little smirk on his face. "You're running late," he said, and then opened the door all the way, nodding his head to invite her in.

Cassidy smiled shyly. "Yeah, I know... I overslept! And there's something weird in the air... just a strange sort of feeling. I almost turned back. I'm probably just being paranoid... but something seems off."
She gave a nervous laugh and held out his cup of coffee. "Here. I got this for you. I would have got you a muffin, but I was afraid you'd accuse me of trying to fatten you up with too many baked goods."

Tyler frowned at this, closing the door after she came inside. "You feel it, too, huh?" He asked. He looked at her and realized he shouldn't have said a word. She was probably going to be even more on edge all day because of it.
"But I'm sure it's nothing. I always feel something stuck in this house, you know. No day really feels normal."
He took the coffee from her, thanking her for it. They had made a habit out of this little morning visit, even if it was usually only five or ten minutes long, and she always told him the coffee was for him. He smiled a little, reminded once again that someone was on his side. Someone was fighting for him.
"You already have... I think I've gained 20 pounds from your cookies at least. I just made some eggs... I know you're running late, but I can put them in something for you, if you want."

Cassidy nodded. "No... there is definitely something. Kind of a foreboding. It sounds weird, I know... but I don't like it. I almost want to warn the Ministry that something is happening, but I'm afraid no one will pay attention to me if I don't have any proof."
She was reluctant to leave, more than usual, because of this feeling. Somehow she felt like she needed to be here.
She laughed, but it was an uneasy laugh. "Maybe I should get you an exercise machine to help you work off the cookies," she teased. "But yeah... some eggs would be nice. Even though I'm late... I can probably stay for a few minutes."
