Andrea felt a bit strained. Ever since the storm things had been different. She had returned to being the careful watchful impostor she was, only now she admired him from afar.
Every now and again she'd sense his eyes on her curiously. She knew that since the storm he had been watching her. Every now and then when she slipped up and began to act feminine or did something that a female might do he caught it and she was worried she wouldn't be able to hold the charade for much longer.
Luckily they were sailing into port that day. Christopher in all likelihood would be out "searching for a bride".
...
Oh heavens... the thoughts she was thinking.
A smile curved on Andrea's face, perhaps there was a way to achieve happily ever after, after all.
***
Tidying up that morning in his cabin she waited for him to enter the room which he would do in two minutes precisely. She could almost count down to the second, and her breath hitched in anticipation waiting for him. She needed to be dismissed for the day to go on land...she needed to buy a dress.

Andrew knew how long it took Christopher to do things and the exact moment he would enter his cabin. Of course, this pleased Christopher. He walked into his cabin at the second Andrew had predicted. "Good morning Andrew," he said smiling. Christopher wasn't concerned about what he looked like at the moment. He wasn't going to get extremely dressed up, there was no sense in it.
Putting his arms behind his back, he spoke again. "You are dismissed." He gave a nod to Andrew. "I'm going to lock things up and then I'll be ashore. I'll see you soon."

She blinked when he did come in even though she expected it and then she turned to face him. "Sir" she nodded. She was just finishing folding any extra laundry when she spoke " Any plans while on port sir?" she asked conversationally.
She shouldn't ask, she should just be quiet and finish and then leave so she could move forward with her plans drawing him into conversation well that was never really a good idea...he always managed to slip through her guard.

"Not really," Christopher replied. "I'm just going to go with the flow this time and see where things go." He gave a shrug. "Do you have any plans while on port?" He walked over to his desk and pulled out his keys from his pocket and began locking his drawers. Christopher carefully rolled up his maps and locked them in one of the drawers as well.
He turned to look back at Andrew before looking around again and made sure that everything was put away.

"None sir." she said a bit too quickly then smiled to cover for it. Casually she walked a bit, but again if anything her grace was a dent in the cabin boy facade. Biting her lip she dropped what she was thinking, " I thought perhaps you might look for your bride." she said bluntly.

"I am going to look, but I'm not going to do that the entire time I'm at port. I'm going to see who I meet while I'm here. Like I said, I'm just going to go with the flow and see where it takes me. Maybe the flow will take me to a bride, who knows." Christopher gave a smile. "And remember, I want you to do as I asked of you before. If I meet a woman who I think is fit, I want you to tell me what you think of her. You have to be honest. I don't care what you say. Tell me if you think she'd be alright or not."

Andrea swallowed but then nodded, "Of course." she wet her lips in thought, "What kind of girl might you be looking for?" she asked he had touched on the subject, well he had said quite a bit on the subject, but to her, and she had learned this by living with a bunch of sailors, men usually thought of looks first and personality later, "Redhead blonde? Eyes? Height...?"

Christopher was curious as to why Andrew had a sudden fascination with what kind of woman he was looking for, but he didn't question it. Maybe Andrew was just trying to get a mental image so he could tell him if he approved or not. "Well, looks are not that important. However, I personally like the dark haired women more. Brown or green eyes are my favorite, and of course someone a little shorter than me. Personality wise I like someone who can handle sarcasm if I use it and she has to be willing to talk to me and we both have to feel comfortable."

Satisfied that the answer hadn't been a buxom blonde she nodded, "If I see her...I'll let you know." she smiled, then turned to leave.
Now she knew what she was looking for as well. It helped however that she happened to have dark hair and brown eyes...of course her hair was cropped short so that might be a problem but she'd figure out something then she'd show up and maybe...if she was a very good girl and prayed very hard...maybe she'd get a fairytale.
She stopped at the door at the thought however and turned to face him.
"Oh...where will you be tonight? In case I find her and...need to get to you." that was a horrible question she shook her head, "Or in case there's something else for the ship that I need to discuss...?" she asked which helped marginally.

He admired how much Andrew wanted to help him in finding a wife. He was determined, and Christopher smiled. "Tonight, I will more than likely be at the Tavern, however I'm sure that a respectable lady would not like to be in a Tavern." He thought for a moment. "I might be looking for new clothes in one of the shops. If I'm not there, then I'll be in the local resturant." He had an amused look on his face.
"I appreciate you trying to help me Andrew. I won't forget it. I'll try to repay you for it some how."

She shook her head, "Think nothing of it." then she turned and just as quick she was gone from his sight. His repaying her would be his forgiving her for this monstrous deceit she was about to commit, but she couldn't dwell on that. The guilt would get to her and she'd talk herself out of this hair brained idea.
It wasn't really fair that she now knew exactly what he wanted, or at least what he said he wanted, she knew exactly how to approach him, but the more she thought about it he had been describing her pretty accurately and...the truth was...she did like him, she couldn't deny that any longer, she definitely had feelings for her captain, but it was hard to distinguish a girlhood crush from something much more serious.
With a sigh she set out to shop for the perfect costume.

Christopher nodded as Andrew started to leave. "I'll see you in a bit," he called out to Andrew as he left. Looking into the mirror, Christopher just shrugged and then left his quarters after putting his jacket on. He locked the door behind him and slipped the keys in his pocket.
Stepping up on the dock, he took in a deep breath. Looking around, the place hadn't really changed that much since the last time that they docked here. Christopher paid the man for his ship being tied up at the dock and continued his venture into the town. He walked past the place he usually stopped first. There was no stopping there any longer. After all, he was going to find himself a wife. He walked toward the Tavern and decided to get a drink before he started his looking.

Andrea didn't know what she was doing. After walking through town, and taking a bit of a round about way of doing so she was looking in shops for what she needed. It didn't help that she looked like a ragamuffin as it was. She was booted out of three stores because of the way she looked and the assumption she might be trying to steal something.
It was beginning to look very hopeless so she had to try something. She went to a local inn and paid for a room. She had worked as a sailor the past six years and never spent a dime of the money she had earned. Chris had made her a wealthy enough woman and it was time to spend that money.
She hesitated in handing over the coin, she had once thought to save enough so that she could buy herself a cottage somewhere and settle down, but there was a chance for happiness now, and she wasn't about to slap it in the face. Handing the coin over, she gave him a few more if he would see to a few things for her, then she went to her room and sat on the bed taking deep breaths. The first thing in order was a bath. She got out of her clothes and sunk into scorching water that felt good on aching muscles.
When she was finished, when she was completely clean she got out of the tub and walked to the mirror examining herself. If only she knew how to do magic, she sighed then the door knocked and she went to answer it.
They were quick at least. The man who had come to her room carried a beautiful silk confection in red that was at once bold and daring yet held mystery in it's lines her mouth fell open a little at the thought of wearing it. In his other hand he carried a wig that had excellent body and curve to it.
She whetted her lips, "Thank you...please set them on the bed."

After making his way to the Tavern and ordering a drink, Christopher sat down in one of the chairs. He knew that he needed to look nice for the afternoon and clean up a little bit before he would start his looking. The more he thought about marriage, the crazier the idea seemed. What woman in their right mind would marry a sailor? What if she went out to sea with him and something happened? So many questions entered his mind, and he swallowed his drink to clear them.
Once he paid the man for his drink, Christopher left the Tavern and headed for the clothing store. For right now, he would just buy clothes for the moment, then come back for more if he desired. Having an idea of what he was looking for, Christopher walked in and picked out his size in a jacket, shirt, and pants, before quickly paying the man at the counter.
He walked swiftly to the local in and paid for one of the nicest rooms they had and walked up the stairs with his newly bought clothes. Christopher made sure that his shower water was hot as he undressed and climbed in. He allowed the warm water to soak into his skin and began to wash the dirt and grime from his body. No woman wanted to meet a nasty man.
After he was satisfied with being clean and his hair being washed, Christopher climbed out and dried himself off. Putting on his new clothes, he glanced in the mirror and smiled. Maybe now he would be set since he was clean. He fixed his jacket and walked out of the door again, locking it behind him.
Christopher made his way outside and walked slowly toward the restaurant.

It took a bit of work, and a bit of help, but by the end of her journey she wasn't recognizable. She was not Andrew anymore, but definitely Andrea. The dress fit her like a glove and was suitable, sexy, and sensational, Andrea felt all those things herself in such a dress. A few spells helped her lashes grow and attached to wig securely to her head. She knew that her own hair was much softer and better than the wig she wore, but there was no help for it, until she could find someone to do another spell for her, it just wouldn't work, the truth was however, she was afraid to make her hair grow and then have to cut it again, she did so miss her hair.
Afterward it was a dab of make up and there she was, a vision in red.
As it turned out Chris had rented a room in the same inn she was staying at. She didn't see him however because she had left the inn just a bit before Chris had.
She didn't realize what a stir she would cause walking down the street, she was looking for Chris, and for Chris only, but Chris wasn't the one who had seen her first.
A bull of a man who was twice as drunk as usual had grabbed her.
"Yer a purdy wench!" he yelled at her bringing her to his lap and handling her roughly. Andrea wasn't a girl with delicate sensibilities, she couldn't be having grown up around rowdy men, but the foulness of his breath nearly caused her to faint and the rough grip of his hands on her bare arms were bruising. She looked so dainty and feminine, and now that was how she felt, a bit helpless at that.
"Stop! Let me go!" she screamed at him and fought his hold.

Christopher took his time walking. He knew that if he was supposed to find someone, he was going to have to take his time and not be in a rush of any sort. He paused to look in a few glass windows as he walked by to waste a bit of time. Glancing out into the street, there wasn't any woman there that caught his eye, although a few winked and smiled at him, he didn't really give them too much of a second look.
Sighing, he started to walk once again until he heard a female voice scream. Christopher usually didn't do the whole knight in shining armour thing, but he hated the thought of a man attempting to do something horrid to a woman. He looked across the street and saw a woman fighting a man's grasp. Christopher didn't take a second glance at the woman's looks, but he walked over determined. He didn't care who the woman was.
Looking sternly at the man, Chris' jaw was set tight. "You heard her, let her go," he replied.

"Who's gonna make me?" the man slurred without looking at who had told him to let the woman go. When he did look however there was pure shock written all over his features. Drunk as a skunk he would still remember Montgomery's face although he didn't know the man by Montgomery but rather from Christopher's notorious pirating days, the man had certainly left his mark, and he wasn't one to make an enemy out of. He let go of the girl immediately, "I wasna tryin to 'urt the lass." he said sputtering out his apologies, still worried about his own welfare he stood with the girl in front of him, then roughly pushed her against Chris before taking off at a run.
Andrea was just as shocked as the man to see Chris coming to her rescue, he had cleaned himself up and looked...well nothing short of beautiful, her eyes searched his entire angry frame and something weakened in her knees, already at the sight of him she knew she was safe, The other man had let her go and she was about to walk towards Chris when she felt the brute's hands slam against her back and she sprawled forward into his arms.

He didn't let his determined look disappear as shock appeared on the man's face. Christopher remembered the man too, now that he got a good look at him. "Well, if you weren't trying to hurt her, then why'd you grab her," Christopher asked the man just before he ran off. His question didn't get answered but he wasn't concerned with that.
Christopher caught onto the woman and held her gently by the shoulders. His expression softened as he looked down at her. He was finally able to take in her features and he did everything he could to keep his mouth closed so it wouldn't hang open. This woman was the kind of woman that he had always pictured. Part of him thought he was just dreaming. "You alright," he asked nicely. "He didn't hurt you in any way did he?"

"No." She replied softly just as lost in his eyes as he was her features. This wasn't the first time she felt this way, of course she never let herself get close enough to see him and him being so close to see her, but if she had any doubt to his perfection before, well up close simply eradicated it. "Thank you...for coming to my rescue."

His eyes searched her face to find any sign that she was hurt, but he found no sign. A touch of relief showed on his face. Christopher smiled. "It's no problem at all," he said. For a moment, he felt that he was under some kind of spell or something because he couldn't stop staring at the woman. Her eyes seemed familar, but he couldn't place where he had seen them.
Christopher wasn't going to just let this woman go. There was something different about her. "I was just heading to dinner at the resturant up the street, would you like to accompany me to dinner?"
