Angelique sent out a memo to all of her aurors, informing them of a mandatory auror meeting. She'd had a lot of aurors recently return from assignments, as well as a few who had been send to help out from other countries. As a result, she had a large auror force, some of whom she had never actually met. As the situation seemed to be getting worse, she decided that now was the time to meet with all of her aurors for a briefing and discussion of assignments.
She set up the meeting room with a large round table, with a display of coffee, tea, and pastries, as well as some fresh fruit for the health conscious. Then she began to flip through some reports while she waited for everyone to arrive.

Jacob didn't mind being back from assignment. After all, he did get to catch up with his sister. Returning to the Ministry, he recieved a memo from the head auror and he figured that he should go ahead and leave before he started to work on anything else.
Straightening his robes, Jacob walked toward the meeting room. He noticed that he was the only one in there, other than Angelique. Jacob took a seat at the table quietly, not wanting to disturb her as she looked over a few files.

Luckily, Fabian didn't misplace his memo about the auror meeting. He had left it on top of his desk as soon as he got it, and then he went out for coffee, only to forget at the moment. When he walked back into his office, he noticed the memo still sitting on his desk so he turned around and headed straight toward the meeting room before he could forget again.
Upon entering, Fabian was surprised that he was one of the first ones there. Nodding to Angelique and Jacob, he took a seat with his coffee in hand.

Upon returning to the Ministry, Hayden recieved something from the head auror about a mandatory meeting. Sighing, he headed straight to the meeting room. There was no use in putting off going because it was important.
Once he arrived, Hayden poured himself a cup of coffee and sat down awaiting for the meeting to begin.

Cassidy was still trying to work on Tyler's case when she got the memo from Angelique. She hated to stop working on the case, but since she wasn't really accomplishing much anyway, she reluctantly stopped her research and headed over to the meeting. She walked in and saw Fabian, who she recognized, and another man she didn't know. Angelique was at the front of the room, and Cassidy instinctively moved towards her and sat down.

Emily was relieved that Poppy had given her a potion to take to help prevent morning sickness. Now, she could still go to work early and not have to worry about coming in late. She took her time with her work.
Getting the memo, Emily sighed and paused with her work, glad to be able to take a break. She left her desk and walked to the meeting room. Emily took a seat close to Angelique and Cassidy after grabbing a piece of fruit.

Mathieu had only arrived in town a few hours earlier, returned from his latest mission. He'd barely had time for a reunion with his beautiful wife before he had to head to the Ministry for a debriefing. However, instead of the debriefing, he found the memo about the auror meeting and quickly headed over to the meeting room. Once inside, he looked around immediately for his sons. He had not been in contact with Cyrus, but he knew that Roland had recently returned to town and he was particularly anxious to see him.
But as he looked around, he did not see any sign of Roland or Cyrus. He did, however, spot his nephew Hayden, and he moved over to sit next to the boy. "Hayden," he greeted him. "How are you doing?"

It was Cynthia's first day at the Ministry. Although she had been in town for several days, she had not yet been able to arrange a meeting with Angelique St. Clare until she received the memo to report to the auror meeting. So she had to get directions at the front desk to find the auror office and the meeting room. It took her several minutes before she finally found her way there. As she entered the room, she was surprised to recognize Jacob. Smiling, she moved towards him.
"So we meet again," she said. "I hope I'm in the right place... this is the auror meeting, right?"

Being brought out of his thoughts, Hayden turned his head to see his uncle sit next to him. "Hey Mathieu," he replied. It had been awhile since he had seen his uncle. A smile found its way across his face. "I'm doing pretty well. How about you? Have any luck while you were away?" He made a mental note to go by and see his aunt before he returned to his apartment for the night.

Veronica was busy working on a report of her mission when she received the memo from Angelique about the meeting. She was glad to see that the new head auror was taking charge in such a way. The situation was bad out there; she had seen it in her travels. It was time for the aurors to spread out and get busy trying to stop the death eaters before they did any more damage.
She hurried down the hall and entered the meeting room. She noticed that Ted was not present as of yet, and she silently worried about him. The situation the other night had been painful, and she was afraid he was going to retreat back into his shell. Quietly she moved in and took a seat near Cynthia and Jacob.

Catching a glimpse of blond hair coming towards him, Jacob felt himself sit up straighter in his chair. A smile appeared on his face as he realized who it was. He didn't really think that Cynthia was an auror, but that didn't matter. "Yes we do," Jacob replied. He hoped that the smile on his face wasn't too big. "And yes, you are in the right place. It's nice to see you again."

"Thanks," she said. "It's good to see you again, too." She slipped into the seat next to him and held out her hand. "I think, perhaps, I should introduce myself properly. I'm Cynthia Darling. I was sent by the Australian ministry to help out against the death eaters. I'd only been in town a few days when I met you... I wasn't yet sure who to trust. I'm glad to see we're fighting on the same side."

Jacob shook her hand like he did when he first met her. "It's nice to meet you Cynthia Darling," he said continuing to smile. "I'm Jacob Tanner." He let go of her hand slowly. Seeing her again had calmed the itching feeling he had about wanting to run into her again. "It's alright. I can understand. Now you don't really know who to trust." Jacob didn't mention that he did have a hard time trusting people any how.

Cynthia nodded. "In our line of work, it's never really easy to trust anyone, is it?" she said. "I'm sure it must sound odd to you, aurors being sent in from other countries to help out. Honestly, I'd understand if you were still a little suspicious of me. The Australian minister of magic sent me as a gesture of solidarity, because I'm one of the best aurors in the country, and there's not really a lot to do in Australia. There are dark wizards, but they're more scattered, not unified. And so I'm here."

Mathieu nodded stiffly at his nephew. "Oh, you know how it is. Mixed success, at best. It seems that these Death Eaters are trained better than the average dark wizard, because they're getting harder to catch. And information is even harder to get. At any rate, I'm glad to be back home. I understand Roland is back in town as well? Have you seen him yet?"

"You could have waited for me, darling," Cara said, sliding into the seat next to her husband. She had been out Christmas shopping for the children and extended family, and found that Mathieu had already left by the time she came home.
She leaned forward and smiled at her nephew. "Hello, Hayden. How are you?"

Ted could have made the arguement that "lay low for a while" excused him from this meeting. But no, Angelique had specifically told him he was expected.
He hadn't spoken to anyone or even come out of his apartment since he had seen Andi the other night. Though he didn't want any more nasty glares than he was going to get already, so at least he arrived clean shaven. It still wouldn't hide the smell of alcohol on his breath in someone spoke to him.
He saw Veronica, but didn't have the energy to pretend to be all right, so he just lowered his eyes and sat in the back, as far from anyone as he could.

Mathieu leaned towards his wife to give her a soft kiss on the cheek. "Sorry, dearest. I came as soon as I got the memo. I wasn't sure you'd get it right away, and I was anxious to see Roland." He cast a glance around the room, indicating his disappointment that his eldest son was not yet there.
He was also anxious to see Cyrus again, but he wouldn't admit it. Although he and his second son didn't see eye to eye on many things, he worried for him just the same.

Cara's eyes traveled the room. "Neither of them are here yet," she observed, the matronly part of her worrying for both of them. She took her husband's hand. "They'll show." Though certainly not together.
She turned back to her nephew. "Been keeping well, Hayden?"

Riley headed straight for the Ministry as soon as she had received the memo about the meeting. She may have been young, but she worked hard and was actually quite talented at her job.
Had she been in any other situation, non work related, she would have made a grand entrance, even if she didn't mean to. But here, she quietly and gracefully slipped into the room, choosing a seat close to Angelique, and waited for the meeting to start.
