Aubri raised an eyebrow and smiled slyly. Was he scared of how she would react to his answer? Or at least apprehensive.
"I'm not as dangerous as you make me out to be, you know," she told him, her hands entwined and on the table, but still on her side of the table. Then, as if she had just registered the second half of his remark, she added, "Do you want me to come here with you again?"

"A gorgeous woman is always dangerous." She would take that as a line, but he was serious. She could get him into a lot of trouble. The entire race of man could fall with just one adoring look from a woman. Men got stupid when they fancied a girl. Dominic was no exception, and didn't care to be. He enjoyed his time with whichever girl he had his eye on, and enjoyed dotting on her. "Of course. Why wouldn't I?"

Aubri smiled a little. Maybe it was a line, but it was true anyway. She watched her sister and she knew the hold a girl had over a boy. She doubted highly that she had such a hold on Dominic, but she kept this quiet. She tried not to verbalize her doubts too often, even if they slipped on occassion.
She just shrugged. "I don't know. You barely know me, and we haven't exactly gotten off on the right foot, have we?"

"It's been bumpy. But I'm still enjoying myself. That's the key, I think. As long as you are enjoying something, you should keep doing it. Don't you agree?"

Aubri pulled her lips between her teeth and nodded. "Yes. I agree. But I still think you should know more about me." Her smile widened and she leaned forward.
"And I want to know more about you... so let's work on that." She was gaining a little confidence the longer she stayed here. He kept feeding her lines, but she was slowly becoming more accepting of them.

Dominic raised an eyebrow at her. He did think, since they reached the Three Broomsticks, that their night was getting better. But he was surprised at this turn of events. "Well then, what do you want to know?" He leaned forward and rested his forearms on the table.

Aubri shrugged. "I don't know, the basics. Family, hobbies, favorite color?" It wasn't so much a matter of asking questions and getting answers, it was the conversation, learning little things as you went along. "Tell me anything about yourself that you're going to want to know about me. That sounds fair."

There were a great many things Dominic wanted to know about Aubri, none of which he could find a suitable counterpart in himself to talk about. But he was sure, since she now seemed a little more invested in the evening, that the conversation would surely get there if he could just start it on its way. "Family, hobbies, and favorite color. You've got an easy list to check off. Let's see, you already know I am an only child. And that just means I'm spoiled, right?" He laughed a little. Everyone said that only children were spoiled, and while he certainly wasn't neglected in anyway, he also didn't think himself spoiled. He was loved and doted upon by his parents just the right amount. "I like not having any brothers or sisters most of the time. It's quiet at home. I'm guessing your holidays aren't as quiet with Lyra around."

Aubrielle shrugged. "They're not really loud," she said, though she found herself thinking that her holidays might be slightly more enjoyable if Lyra was a boy instead of a girl. Aubri found herself quiet at home, like she usually was around her sister at school. "You know, sometimes it's just easier to let Lyra have the spotlight. I try not to argue with her unless she's really bothering me. That keeps things pretty amiable at home."

"What is it that you can't stand, that makes you argue with her?" While he was quite glad most of the time to not have anyone else to deal with, it was rather intriguing to see what went on at other people's houses. He had heard stories from his parents, both of whom come from big families. So he knew what it was like during celebrations to have a crowded house and not be able to hear yourself think. But that was extended family, which he was certain was quite different from siblings of his own.

Aubri gave him a strange look for that question. "There's nothing I can't stand about her. She's my sister, and I have to love her, right? Anyway, she and I are just too different and we just don't get along. It doesn't mean there's anything wrong with either of us." She was still trying to be protective of not only Lyra, but herself too. Dominic was still an unknown entity to her... she didn't know how much she could trust him yet.

Dominic sighed and shook his head. She was so defensive about her relationship with her sister and he hadn't even meant anything by his comment. He only wanted to continue their talk. "You don't trust me," he guessed. Why else would she flip back and forth between wanting to share and wanting to keep things quiet. It wasn't as if he had asked her any horrible, evil questions.

Aubri was caught off guard by the bluntness of the question, and her mouth closed while she tried to figure out how to answer him.
"I was seeing this guy last year," she said. "And I told him little things, like what you're asking me. The next day, he slept with Lyra and told her everything I said. So I don't know you very well yet, and you'll forgive me if I'm being careful." She didn't say it in a rude or harsh way, just in a way to explain herself. She had her reasons to be guarded.

Dominic's eyes widened a bit as what she said set in. No wonder she was going back and forth with him. "I hadn't realized. I'm...I'm sorry Aubri. I don't want to make you feel uncomfortable, and I won't be offended if you don't want to talk about certain things. I guess this makes sense, why I bother you so. But just for the record, I'm not into your sister. Just you."

"You don't bother me," Aubri said, sighing inwardly. Honestly, he didn't. She just didn't really trust anyone when it came to talking about family. Besides, sure she and Lyra had their differences, but they were sisters.
"I've heard that line before, Dominic," she said softly. "Why don't we talk about you for a little while?"

It wasn't a line but he was used to her by now thinking everything he said was a chance to pick her up. She was so insecure with herself but at least now some of it made sense. Though, he still couldn't fathom how she thought she was second to Lyra in anything but age. "Sure. We could talk about me, not that I'm one to do that on a regular basis." He chuckled after that, because it was true. He didn't know what to say, so he thought back to her generic list of suitable topics. Family, hobbies, and there was something else too but he couldn't remember at the moment. "My birthday is coming up...well, not for another two months, but my parents have told me that they're getting me tickets to see David Bowie as my present. They had to go through all these different people to get muggle money and buy the tickets and have them sent to a muggle address. Apparently it was all very complicated."

Aubri gave him a look, one that said she was trying to follow along, but he lost her at David Bowie. He was obviously someone muggle, but who, she had no idea.
"I don't know who that is," she admitted quietly, her lips quirked to one side. "But you sound excited about it... so that's neat. They told you about your present awfully early, though."
Although, she and Lyra always knew what their gifts were, too, but it was usually pretty generic... or something they had specifically asked for.

Dominic laughed. Though his birthday was months away still, the concert was only next month and he would need to make arrangements with friends, which was why they had told him so early. It was a muggle show, so it would take a little extra planning depending on who he was taking. "Actually the concert's next month, so its not that early. But I have to narrow down who I'm taking. I'm getting four tickets." He wasn't surprised that she hadn't heard of Bowie, not many kids at Hogwarts had. Which would make the elimination process more difficult. He would want to take someone who would have a good time, so a fan would be good. But Bowie was a god and Dominic felt he needed to expose his music to as many people as possible. "I've got some of his albums in my dorm, if you'd like to listen sometime. What sort of music do you like? Oh, that's about you, isn't it? You don't have to answer that, I'll ask you again later." He grinned at her.

He made Aubri smile a little with that, and she nodded. "All right. Maybe I'll answer you when you ask again."
She was leaning forward slightly, her chin in her hand. It was easier to be comfortable when he was doing the talking, but she supposed by now, she owed him a bit of return conversation.
"I would like to listen to him sometime," she said. "Since I have absolutely no idea who you're talking about," she added with another shy smile.

"Yeah, I get that a lot," he laughed. When he was younger he had been surrounded by muggles and just got involved in their world. So it was a bit of a change for him to be fully immersed in the wizarding community. Although his family have been magical for generations, he still felt that he fit into the non-magical society well and still frequented muggle social functions. Concerts were one of his favorites, but he also enjoyed the muggle museums and movie theaters.
