Aubri turned and stormed out of the common room at the same time Lyra turned and left. Stupid, beautiful, perfect Lyra. She hated her sister sometimes, and squashed the voice in her head that tried to argue that fact.
She hurried to the stairs, where she was supposed to meet Dominic, but slowed before turning the corner so that he couldn't see her hurrying. She was in a foul mood now, so heaven help him.
"I'm sorry that took so long," she said, her voice low and quiet.

"I was beginning to think you'd gotten scared. Glad that's not the case." She still looked annoyed, and Dominic was sure it was him. But she was still there so he must not have annoyed her too much. He chuckled. "C'mon." He took her by the hand and led her to a secret passage way that would take them right into Hogsmeade. Dominic had used this passage many times and it seemed to him that it was all too easily looked over by the teaching staff. He almost thought Dumbledore liked the students to get into a bitof mischeif, otherwise the passage would have been sealed up ages ago.

Aubri opened her mouth when he took her hand, but then stopped. He obviously knew where he was going, and really... did she mind that he was holding her hand?
"Listen," she said as they hurried along. "We absolutely cannot get caught. I will be in so much trouble if we are. Is there anywhere even open this late in Hogsmeade?" She wasn't sure what time it was, but it was dark and the common room had been empty.

They turned a corner and climbed a flight of stairs. "Are you always this paranoid? Mind you, I'm not pointing out any faults, just asking." It was usually his house mates who were nervous about going against the school rules and facing the possibility of losing points. Ravenclaw hadn't won the House cup since he'd started Hogwarts. No one wanted to jeopardize their chances this year, but Dominic was very confident in his abilities to sneak out of the castle. He had done so on several occasions.

"No, I'm not," Aubri said instantly, though when she stopped to think about it... maybe she was. She followed the rules more than any other Slytherin she knew, except maybe the Inophen kid. She just needed to prove that she was, in some way, better than Lyra. She didn't even care about the house points. Slytherin was doing well enough right now anyway that losing a few wouldn't make much of a difference.
She shook her head. "I'm not. Just tonight," she said again, her voice less defensive. "You didn't answer my question, either."

"What's open this late?" he reiterated. "The Three Broomsticks will be open, and Madame Rosmerta likes me so we won't get into any trouble if you'd like to go there. The Hog's Head is almost always open later than this and no one there will even bother to look at us, let alone ask if we should be at the school. I think we're pretty safe no matter where we go. Unless you want the tea shop which closes early, but I don't much care for Madam Puddifoot." Dominic had gone there once or twice with a girl and Puddifoot, it seemed, had gone out of her way to fawn over the "darling couple". The woman hadn't even realized it was Dominic with two different girls, she just liked the idea of young love.

Aubri's brows creased. "You must do this often," she concluded. He gave her such a thorough breakdown. "But... uhm... no, I don't like Puddifoots, either. It's too over the top," she agreed, wondering why she stumbled over those first few words. Dominic, as annoying as he was, just caught her off guard. Quite a lot, actually.
"I guess we'll see when we get there. Or... what's your preference?"

"Once or twice," he replied with a wink. Dominic smiled at Aubrielle. He was glad she too found Puddifoot's a bit too much. He wouldn't have to worry about her wanting to go there in the future. Or tonight. That sort of place took time to prepare for, mentally.
"Hmmm...Let's do Three Broomsticks tonight. I can't see you in the Hogs Head." She was much too beuatiful to be in a dingey place like that. Though it might make the pub look a little more appealing. They had made it to the passage way and after revealing the entrance they were in a dimly lit tunnel. He did not let go of Aubri's hand just yet, but if he sensed she disliked it, he would have. He was rather confident that she did like it, which made him grin in the dark.

Aubri barely even noticed that their hands were still connected. She was too busy focusing on where they were and what he was saying.
"I'm not sure what you mean by that," Aubri said, half teasing which was better than she had been so far tonight. "I could handle the Hogs Head just fine." The slight jilt in her voice though gave away that she would really much rather go to the Three Broomsticks. How was it that Dominic, and Ravenclaw of all things, was more bold than she was?

"I'm sure you could," he said with a soft chuckle. "But I was more referring to how you'd look out of place there. It's so dark and dirty whereas you're much more..." He trailed off, not finishing his sentence, and gave a small shrug. She would probably force the rest of that statement out of him, knowing her. The Newbury's didn't like to be kept in the dark, he had noticed.
"It's not much further," he said in an attempt to steer the conversation in a different direction.

Aubri's brow rose. "Much more... bright and clean?" She asked, supplying the opposites of the traits he had descrived. She didn't press for more than that, realizing if she was pushing for a compliment, she wouldn't really know what to do with it if he gave it.
"How did you find this passageway?" She asked, allowing the conversation to steer in that direction.

"Benjamin Linus showed me in my third year. Got expelled less than a month afterward, professors said he made too much trouble. But there were rumours he was using this passageway for some...err...illegal stuff." He turned around to give her a little wink in the dark.

Aubri bit her lip, not smiling at all from that comment. It didn't put her at ease, and then she wondered, if Benjamin Linus showed it to Dominic, was Dominic then also using this passage for illegal things? Merlin, was she in over her head?
"I really can't afford to get in trouble, Dominic," She said quietly. "I'm not paranoid, I just... Lyra would kill me. Literally."

Dominic was not, and had never, used this nor any other passageway for illegal deeds. Sneaking out of Hogwarts every once in a while was the extent of his bad-boyness. But he had no idea that that particular thought had crossed Aubri's mind. So when she started talking about getting into trouble, he was completely clueless to what sort of trouble she thought they could get into. "Relax. If we get caught, which we won't by the way, but if we do I'll take full responsibility. And really, are you more afraid of your sister than the professors? I wouldn't want a detention, I could handle a talking to."

"You've never had one of my sister's lectures," Aubri countered. "And I'd get in trouble with her if I got a detention anyway, so it doesn't really matter who catches us."
Forget the number of detentions she was certain Lyra had been given. She couldnt prove it, but she heavily suspected. It was terrible being the youngest. Lyra got into more trouble, but Aubri was kept on such a short leash, she sometimes didn't even know how to get into trouble.

"No, I can't say I've had that pleasure," he drawled. "I take it you two don't get on very well," he stated flatly. They neared the end of the passage which had started slopping upward and narrowing. Rays of moonlight shone through what appeared to be a bush at the end of the tunnel, and from the other side owls and other wildlife could be heard in the night. Dominic let Aubrielle's hand drop as he reached for his wand and levitated the bush out of their way. The passage led to a field that overlooked the shops on the High Street. The best way to get into town from here was to take the side street that the Hog's Head sat on.

Aubri watched closer what was going on when he let her hand drop. Up to now, she had been blindly following him.
"We're sisters," she said with a little shrug. "We're not supposed to get along all the time. But we do get along." Sometimes. Rarely. She did not add these two words out loud.
She climbed out of the passage behind him, taking a second to figure out where in Hogsmeade they were.

The moon was out but Dominic still lit his wand with Lumos to illuminate the path as he lead Aubri to the street. He reached back with his free hand to take hers but stopped and just walked forward. "Sometimes I think I might like a brother, but a younger one of course. So I could be in charge." He said with a chuckle.

Aubri took a couple of quick, long steps to catch up to him once they were out of the passageway.
"Yeah, being the older one might have been nice. I'll have to ask Lyra one of these days. I always thought an older brother might have been nice, though." She closed her mouth quickly, realizing that she was just rambling now, and probably boring him.

Dominic had had some experience with girls who had older brothers. It could be a pain at times. They tended to be more protective than Dominic liked. "Why do you think an older brother would be fun?"
