"I have," she said agreeing. "I never did have a dull moment because I was always exploring the cities and countryside. I only stopped to sleep." Marietta gave a smile. She did enjoy her travels, and she was happy to share her experience. "Well, I started off going to Ireland, then I went all over the UK. After leaving there, I went to America. It's pretty neat there actually. I spent a good while there. Afterwords, I headed towards Japan and China before exploring eastern Europe. I visited Austria for a bit. The countryside there is just amazing. I stayed with my grandparents for a bit there, and then of course finished up exploring western Europe before coming back here."

"That's right." he said smiling at her once again, "You're bartending, where at now?" he wondered since she was home or what he considered home, but he popped over to the states often enough to go to whatever club she worked at for a drink now and then.

Lia laughed. "You would never guess where," she said, raising her eyebrows like it was some great secret.
"I'm currently the only female bartender at Stu's," she announced.

The joy fizzled out of his features, " Stu's?" he asked, he never forgave the place after they made him sing there one year, not that he had a bad voice but he had been so hammered that night it was simply terrible, plus Derek hated doing things that he didn't want to do and so far Stu's was one event where he could remember being coerced into singing. It wasn't a great dislike but something to joke about all the same.

Lia hit him lightly in the shoulder. "Yeah, Stu's. Be happy for me that I'm not working at The Rusty Nail."
No, that was one place where even she wouldn't set foot. There were too many shady characters in there. She could take care of herself, certainly, but she wasn't stupid.
Then again, there was a daredevil streak in her that said just maybe...

It was the "just maybe" in her eyes that had Derek very happy for her for working at Stu's, "I'm happy, I'm very happy. Don't even think about the Nail." not that he hadn't been there before of course, that daredevil streak ran in them both, but it was different he hated to say it but yes there were differences between men and women and his Lia was a beautiful woman.
Derek sidled a little closer to her now with the Rusty nail in thought and the images of shady creatures flowing through his mind he glanced around the club to give off a silent warning.

"Oh, stop it," Nathalia said, catching his look around the club. "How am I supposed to get boys to buy me drinks if you're scaring them away all night, Derek?" She laughed when she asked it, but it was a completely serious question.

Derek made a simple motion of his hand to get the bartender to come to them, "Anything she wants is on my tab, if another guy even attempts to buy her a drink...poison his glass." the last part was sarcastic but there was a certain glint in his eye, maybe not poison the guy dead, but at least poison him incompetent. He was teasing of course but he would pick up her tab, she was family after all and it wasn't like he didn't have the money.
"There we go problem solved."

Nathalia growned. "Derek, that's not what I meant."
She turned to the bartender. "Don't put *any* of my drinks on his tab, please, and don't poison anyone."
She gave her uncle a half joking but still stern look. "Don't make me find somewhere else to hang out tonight. I'm not going home alone looking this good."

It was Derek's turn to groan, " Merlin, what happened to my little niece?" he sighed shaking his head and rolling his eyes, " I can't even try to protect her from the big bad men who only want one thing because apparently, she wants the same." he shook his head and downed his drink to get that particular taste out of his mouth.
"I'd tell your mum on you except I think she'd give you a pat on the back and me a lecture on independence for women."

Zachary grinned. "I honestly wouldn't worry about Nathalia tonight, Derek," he drawled. "Now that we've been seen talking to her, I sincerely doubt any other men are going to have the nerve to approach her tonight. Sorry, Nathalia, but it seems we can be a bit... intimidating... for other men. For good measure, I suppose we could always introduce her to Edmund, as well, although, I think he's found himself a little someone to keep him occupied." He nodded over towards Edmund, who was talking to the pretty brunette who had passed them earlier. "I can see he hasn't lost his touch."

Thalia glanced over a the brunette, silently thinking that she was prettier than that girl.
"Oh, it's all right. Got a new tattoo that I wanted to find someone to show it off to, but I suppose that can wait. Or maybe I'll just go hit up muggle London and see what clubs I can find there. Although... I have missed you, Derek, and it's been far too long since I've seen you, Zachary."

Everything she was saying just caused Derek's scowl to deepen. "I'm this close to washing my hands of you Webb." he said drolly but sighed. She was a lady and a relation and weren't they supposed to behave themselves? Oh leave it to his brother but if one of his other nieces had gotten a tattoo or had even mentioned a muggle club they'd be locked in their rooms.
But Lia had a different upbringing.
"I think we're better off just attaching a signpost to her head that reads touch and you will regret it." he sighed.

Zachary chuckled. "Honestly, Derek, I think Nathalia can handle herself. If any guy tries to get too familiar, I'm fairly confident she can make him regret, without any assistance from either of us. And if she wants them to... well, I'm not one to deny a woman a little fun. I tried to be over-protective with my sister when I was younger, but obviously, Tanya was not going to put up with that. Of course, if Guinevere showed up here and told me she'd gotten a tattoo, I'm pretty sure I'd be dragging her out of her wrapped in my cloak."

Nat rolled her eyes. "Gwen would never show up with ink. Her father would kill her and she knows it."
No, Nat, much to the appearant chagrin of the rest of the family, had been lucky enough to have a mother that not only tolerated, but indulged her rebellious streak. And quite frankly, she liked making the rest of the family cringe. Who cared if she wasn't prime for a pureblood marriage? Heaven help her mother the day she decided to bring it, if she ever did.

"Believe me, I know it," Zachary said. "I went through a pretty rebellious streak in my seventh year and shaved my head. Remember that, Derek?" He laughed at the memory. "I thought Thatcher was going to have an aneurysm. He tried to tell me I should act and look a certain way, in order to be an example to the rest of the wizarding world. Is it any wonder I took off right after graduation?"

Derek groaned with her "rebelliousness" although the image of Gwen with ink was startling enough to make him laugh.
He sighed.
His niece was one of those girls, not that he had anything wrong with "those" girls, in fact he enjoyed them as much as the next person, but that was just the story call him hypocritical, well no call society hypocritical but it was fine for a guy to have as many girls as he wanted but a girl could not do the same without some kind of connotation added to it.

Nathalia was not a slut. She had a bit of a wild side, and she flirted openly. She wasn't chaste... but she didn't have the reputation. Not yet.
"Yeah... I would have split too, if Thatcher had been breathing down my neck. He's kind of terrifying. Then again... so is Tanya. How did you end up so friendly?" She teased with Zachary while her eyes roamed the bar.
A couple of guys met her eyes, but they were uninterested. Damn these two.

Derek raised his brow to his friend as if pretending to wonder the same, really he was wondering how Lia thought that Zach was nice. He tried not to roll his eyes, yes Zach was nice...but sometimes a little too nice, and unaware really of how deep Zach's feelings ran for this other girl Derek wasn't going to budge or leave his young niece with a notorious rake.

Zachary laughed. "Well, I guess I was just the bad seed," he joked. But as always, there was truth to his words. He was the bad seed, and he bloody well knew it. Always the rake, the gambler, the rebel. The one who didn't give a damn about the family and couldn't wait to get away from it. It was the reason he'd taken to traveling so much; he needed to get away from their stifling influences. Whenever it got to be too much, he hit the road for parts unknown. It was a pattern with him; one that he didn't quite know how to break.
