Healing

[Skye]

"If you are sure," Skye said. "I can walk you back there now. Would you like to say goodbye to Karl and Chloe first?"

[Kris Lupin]

Kris nodded. "I'm sure." She nodded again to answer her second question. "Yeah, I wouldn't want to be rude and leave without saying goodbye."

[Skye]

"OK," said Skye. "Come with me, then." She led Kris into the bedroom where Karl and Chloe were. "I am taking Kris back to the school now," she said in her quiet voice.

[Kris Lupin]

Kris gave a small wave then said quietly, "I just wanted to say bye."

[Karl]

Karl hadn't yet fallen asleep, and he opened his eyes to smile at her. "Bye, Kris," he said. "See you soon, right?"

[Kris Lupin]

Kris nodded. "You bet."

[Karl]

"Cool," Karl said. "Well, I'm glad I could help you. Have fun at the school. And if you ever need anything, you know where we are. See ya." He smiled and closed his eyes again.

Kris smiled then left the room and waited on Skye. She really wanted to get back to the school and see Sirius as soon as she could.

[Skye]

Skey smiled. "I will be back, Karl. You get some sleep." She turned to Kris. "I guess we should go now. Do you mind if we walk through the forest?"

[Kris Lupin]

"No. I don't." Kris smiled. She was glad to be going back to the school, but something popped into her mind. What would Dumbledore say? Would she be in trouble for being out that late?

[Skye]

Skye headed toward the door. "I will see you later, Ashura," she said. "I hope you will get to meet Pearl, and David, and Dragos. I am surprised they are not here." She looked at Kris. "If you would like me to talk ro Remus for you, let me know. I can also speak to the man with the white beard--I think they call him Dumbledore--for you to let him know where you have been, if you wish."

Ashura smiled and waved.

Kris nodded. "Thanks but I think I should talk to Remus myself."

[Skye]

"OK," Skye said. She stepped out the door and began to walk slowly back down the road toward the forest.

Kris followed her and little ways behind lost in thought.

[Skye]

Skye delicately stepped through the undergrowth that lay along the ground at the entrance to the forest. She barely made a sound as she walked, seeming almost to disappear between the trees. "One good thing about being a werewolf is that now you can walk in the woods without fear from centaurs. They dislike humans, but they stay away from werewolves. It is an understanding between us," she explained. "But you will need to be careful of Fenrir. He will want you back. Either Chloe, or I will come to visit you at the school often to make sure you are safe."

[Kris Lupin]

"He..he will? I..I wont be going into the forest unless I have to." Kris said following her. She kept her eyes on the ground.

[Skye]

"I am afraid so," Skye said gently. "He chose you, just as he chose Remus. He still wants to get Remus back, and he will want you back now, too. I was not bitten by Fenrir, so he does not even care if I am there anymore. I never had a heart for hunting or attacking. Others that he bit, like Chloe and Zander, were accidents, not his chosen ones. So he cast them out."

[Kris Lupin]

"But why me? Why Remus?" Kris asked more herself then Skye.

[Skye]

"I do not know why Fenrir chooses some and not others," Skye said. "But I do know that he likes his chosen ones to be very young. Chloe and Zander were adults when they were bitten. You and Remus are young. I think there were other reasons why you and Remus were chosen, but I do not know what they were."

[Kris Lupin]

"Oh." Was all Kris could think to say. She wanted to know why he chose her and her brother. She also wanted to see her father again though she doubted he wanted to see her.
