Healing

[Chloe Owen]

Chloe and Karl had made it back to her house that previous night, and whenever they transformed back, she made sure that Karl was in bed and everything, before she went to sleep herself. Chloe awoke and took a shower before checking up on him. Once she dressed and fixed her hair, she gently tapped on his door and opened the door. "Hey Karl. How are you feeling?"

[Karl]

Karl groaned, the pain in his shoulder flaring up again. He shifted carefully in the big soft bed and looked over at her. She looked so pretty, it almost took the pain away. "Hurts," he said. "But I'll be OK." He smiled at her. "We did a good thing, right?"

[Chloe Owen]

"We did," said Chloe nodding. "I'll be right back. I'm going to go get some stuff to help clean your cuts," she said turning and leaving. She grabbed some cut cleaning solution, a few cotton balls, and bandages. Chloe walked back into the room and sat down on the side of the bed, placing the items on the nightstand. "I'm going to go ahead and tell you, this stuff may sting just a little, but it will help clean the cuts, okay," she said looking down at him.

[Karl]

He nodded. "OK," he said, gritting his teeth in anticipation of the pain. "Thanks, Chloe."

[Chloe Owen]

Chloe gave him a smile and used the cotton balls to dab at the cuts on his face. After she dabbed on each cut, she blew lightly on them, to help it not sting so much. Soon she finished and threw the cotton balls away that were used. Chloe noticed a few scratches on his arm and she gently cleaned them as well and took a bandage to help keep it clean. "There. All your cuts are cleaned," she said once she was finished. Chloe smiled at him again, looking at him a little longer than she should have. She finally cleared her throat, "How's your shoulder?"

[Karl]

Karl stared at her as she cleaned his cuts. She was so pretty, he thought he could look at her forever. When she spoke, he blinked, then looked into her eyes. Clearing his throat, he said, "It hurts... I think I twisted it funny trying to get away from him. The bleeding stopped from where he bit me, though. Y'know... I never fought him before. I dunno what I was thinking. I just wanted the pup to be safe."

[Chloe Owen]

Chloe looked back at him as he spoke. "I understand. Last time I fought him, he wanted to fight till death. I'm one of his mistakes, and he wouldn't have hesitated to kill me either, but luckly Pearl came up," said Chloe. She continued to look at him for a few more seconds. "Well, let me get an ice pack for your shoulder. I'll be right back." Chloe went quickly to the kitchen and grabbed a pack of ice. She came back and gently put it on his shoulder. "Maybe this will help ease the pain in your shoulder."

[Karl]

"Ow!" Karl said as the ice first touched his shoulder. Then he relaxed as the ice soothed away the pain. "I always thought of Fenrir as my father, even though he didn't make me. I was turned by Silver, one of the other pack members." He sighed. "Can I tell you a secret?"

[Chloe Owen]

"Sorry," said Chloe. She made sure that the ice pack stayed in place and put her hands in her lap. "Of course you can tell me a secret," she said looking at him with slight curiosity.

[Karl]

Karl frowned. "I only ever turned one person... Fenrir told me I had to. She doesn't know it was me, doesn't remember the attack, but I ... I turned Skye. I felt bad about it after, and that's why I try so hard to protect her. I feel like it's my fault."

[Chloe Owen]

Chloe put a hand on Karl's cheek. "It's not your fault. You only did what you were told to do. Don't blame yourself for it," said Chloe. She noticed that she had put her hand on his cheek and removed it, placing it back in her lap, flushing just a little.

[Karl]

Karl felt warm when she touched his cheek, and colder when she took her hand away. "I know... I didn't mean it. I didn't have control. But I feel bad. Do you think I should tell her?"

[Chloe Owen]

"Only if you want to tell her. I don't think she would be mad at you for it," said Chloe. "She would probably understand, and she would more than likely want to hear that you did it from you, rather than hear that you did it from Greyback," she said.

[Karl]

Karl frowned. "Yeah, you're right about that. Fenrir knows I did it, and has said he'd tell her before. He didn't, but he would if he got the chance." He sighed. "I don't want her to find out like that." He looked around. "Are the others coming, do you know? I wanna meet the new pup, see if she's OK."

[Chloe Owen]

Chloe nodded. "I would just tell her sometime soon, like you said, before Greyback gets a chance. I have a feeling that she'll be over today," said Chloe. "Do you need anything? Like something to drink, or eat?"

[Skye]

Skye walked in, with Kris behind her. "Chloe?" she called. "Are you home? I've brought the new pup... she's a bit confused. Is Karl with you?"

[Chloe Owen]

"Hey Skye," said Chloe walking out of the room that Karl was in. "He's in here," she said disappearing into the room again. "Come on in."

[Skye]

Skye looked back at Kris. "OK, follow me," she said. "I will introduce you."

[Kris Lupin]

Kris chewed on her lower lip nervously. She followed Skye into the room. She hugged herself once again.

[Skye]

"You do not need to be afraid," Skye said reassuringly. "You are among friends now." She walked into the room and smiled. "Hello, Chloe, Karl. I would like you to meet Kris."
