Wesley smiled. "Well, I'm glad she helped. Sometimes she really can cut a person down... but it's good that she was able to see how great a person Cassidy is. Like I said, Angelique doesn't lie, so if she says something nice, then she means it. You know... Natalie can be the same way. She never lies, either. It's almost scary sometimes, you know? So many of us are used to telling lies, or half truths, just to spare a person's feelings. But they won't do it... It can put people off sometimes."

"Yeah," replied Evangeline. "But then again it could help out a person, even if it's not what they want to hear. I wish that sometimes I could be like that, but I don't want someone to hate me for something I said wrongly, or just start crying because of something I said. It would make me feel horrible."

"I know what you mean," Wesley said. "Honesty like that can really hurt sometimes. Angelique says that people need to toughen up a little more, because it's the only way they'll ever learn how to fix their mistakes." He shrugged. "I just know I couldn't do it myself."

"I agree with her somewhat. Some people do need to learn to toughen up sometimes, but then again it all depends I guess," said Evangeline. "If people would learn from what they do wrong, then they'd be better off, some just don't care and continue doing those same mistakes and don't really get anywhere."

"That's true, too," Wesley admitted. "A lot of people don't want to change the way they are. I suppose that's their choice. I just know I'm glad to have Angelique around to tell me when I'm being a... what was the word she used? Oh, yes... nerd. Apparently it's some new American term." He shrugged.

Evangeline smiled when he said that Angelique called him a nerd, and did actually pretty well at hiding her laughter. "That's an interesting term. Can't say that I've ever heard that one in my life," said Evangeline. Her hiding her laughter was getting to her, and she picked up her glass and took a swallow, trying to suppress it. She could picture Angelique just plain out telling him what he was being, and the thought was just amusing.

Wesley raised an eyebrow at her. "Oh, I'm very glad you're amused," he said sarcastically. Then he laughed. "Actually she told me what a nerd was, and I'm afraid to say, it does rather suit me. But it's just so odd how she manages to be so blunt about it. I'm not sure if it's just part of her nature, or if it's because she grew up in America. They have a way of being more open about things over there, you know."

Evangeline gave him a playful grin. "I'm sorry. Just picturing it is just amusing is all," said Evangeline. "I think all of us can be a nerd, sometimes, you just, I don't know how to explain it, but you know what I mean. There's nothing wrong with it. It does suit you, and that's what makes you adorable."

"Oh really," she said with laughter. She finished her food as well, and carefully wiped her mouth, just to be polite. Evangeline nodded in agreement. "It was delicious. Much better than my cooking."

Wesley laughed. "Oh, I don't know. Those cookies you made were very good. I'm sure your cooking is just fine." He took a sip of butterbeer, then said, "So now what? Do you want to get dessert? Or is there something else we could do?"

"I couldn't agree more," Wesley said. "I must confess, I've got a bit of a sweet tooth. Olivia used to tease me about it, I had to have something sweet every day. And I love chocolate most of all." He laughed. "I'll order it, and you can have a taste. But you can't let me eat the whole thing."

Wesley laughed. "Yes, you wouldn't want to have to roll me out of here. It would really put a damper on the rest of our date." When the waitress walked up to the table to take their plates, he ordered the chocolate meltaway cake... with two spoons.
"Speaking of the rest of our date," he added as the waitress hurried off, "what would you like to do after this?"

Evangeline laughed. "Exactly!" After the waitress left, she glanced back towards Wesley. "Hm. I suppose we could walk for a bit, if you wanted. It doesn't really matter. I think I'm up for just about anything."

Evangeline laughed. "Hm, that sounds fun," she said. "Something more manly? I can't really think of anything, but we won't tell anyone," she said with a wink. Evangeline picked up her spoon and took a small bite of the cake. It had to be the best cake she ever had, let alone the best chocolate cake. "I have to say, that has to be the best cake," she commented.
