She didn't expect him to believe her, not right away anyway, and she was still not at her best so she couldn't bombard him with logic.
But seeing Derek in pain shot through Diana as she forced herself to stay awake.
"Stop it!" she cried out, "We were married!" she said fiercely.
"We reunited at the inn four months ago. You took out a contract on my life, but I didn't know that..." she said giving Christian a hard look, what she could manage of one anyway.
"You came back and you found out about Alyx...our daughter... She's in trouble!" Diana cried out, though weak as she was it was a pitiful cry at best.
"The same men that are after me will come for her if they find out who she is. We've been fighting those men... we've killed all but one...only I found out about the contract you had on my life...and I took your memories." she confessed.

"And we have a child now," Christian laughed loudly. "You are far more damaged than you initially let on. Inventing marriages and vows and children. Did we have family dinners with the in-laws as well? Or wait, dinner parties with the neighbors. Merlin, you're deranged."
It made sense that Diana was insane. Only crazy women f*cked like that.
He turned his wand over in his hand, still aimed at Derek. "Tell me the truth or I kill him."

Diana was panicking again, not because she expected Christian to immediately believe her and let Derek go, but the fact that she wasn't dealing with 'her' Christian. This was someone else, a man who was content to f*ck her and kill her the next hour. She couldn't reason with that kind of man, particularly with something so unreasonable to him, and she didn't have the energy to try.
"Christian...please..." she cried, fighting to stay conscious.
Derek was coming out of the pain filled haze and saw the panic in Diana's expression, he wanted to tell her it was alright, but they didn't have time for sentiment. He was so sorry she had lost the baby, sorry that everything had gone to hell. He turned his attention to Christian and his look hardened considerably.
"If you kill me Ward, you'll have a battle on your hands, and you're already going to be busy protecting your wife. Or have you forgotten if she dies so do you? Who's to say I wasn't tracked on my way here? If you want more proof that she is what she says she is, or that you are who she says you are, you're going to have to give her time. Or you could kill me and deal with my family. If that doesn't scare you, then you know who else you'd have to deal with, and He should scare you. Besides you're not going to get anymore answers out of someone who's unconscious." he said gesturing to Diana who had finally blacked out.

Christian looked over to Diana who was slumped over, passed out in the chair. Damn her theatrics! He turned his attention back to Burke.
"I also won't get all this backtalk," he said angrily as he hit Derek with a curse that essentially coldcocked the man and left Christian to the quiet peace of the sea. He needed to figure out his next move, but Burke's warning was enough to give him pause.
Their location could have been compromised and Christian really didn't feel up to listening to yet another person claim to have some relationship with him that he had no memory of. The salty air whipped at his face as he drove the boat back to the shore and after securing it to the dock he transported his two unconscious prisoners to the security of his home. He locked Diana in the spare room and Burke in the storage closet. Then he went downstairs to have a scotch.
