It had been almost five months since Betty had seen her lover. A sojourn to the US on business had kept her at bay, but other than business she had hoped the absence would make Christian's heart grow fonder. She was getting older and ready to settle down, and she intended Christian to be the man with whom she did so.
At 32 she was still in the prime of her sexuality. She had a body most women would die for, and a flawless oval face with crystal eyes of blue, and ice blond hair. In short, she was perfect. And she was ready for Christian to acknowledge his deeper feelings for her, if for no other reason than it was a practical match.
She adjusted the corset she wore underneath the full-length trench coat that acted as a cover while she stood on Christian's doorstep.
She rang the bell and smirked when she thought of Christian's reaction to seeing her.

Christian had quite a full plate these days. He was piecing together the sparse intel on this "mystery board member" as Burke and Eve referred to him, and also keeping tabs on Diana Crawford; his ex flame and current target for the largest bounty he'd seen in his 16 years of running the "family business". In short, he wasn't expecting company and when the bell rang and Christian was pulled from his office, he wasn't in the best of moods.
That changed suddenly as he opened the door and saw Betty standing before him. "Well, well, well. Look what the cat dragged in," he said as he pulled her inside and kissed her without permitting her so much as chance to say hello.

Betty was pleased with his reaction to her, and allowed the kiss to linger for a few minutes before pushing him back.
"Well, I guess that answers whether or not you're happy to see me." she smiled, and forever the tease she pushed past him with a light swagger and pretended to study his home.
"Have you missed me terribly then?"

Christian couldn't say for certain whether he had missed her over the summer, not with his memories taken from him. But his lack of success in the bedroom, other than with his new mark Diana, was beginning to make Christian feel older than he really was. He needed a sure thing. Enter Betty.
"Don't I always?" he said, shutting the door strolling up behind her. His arms wrapped around her tiny waist and his hand snaked down the length of her coat. He found very little fabric underneath. He let his hand glide gently between her legs, then it happened.
It flashed quickly, only for a moment before it was gone. But in that second he wasn't feeling the blonde bombshell that was Betty. It was Diana, dark and sensuous Diana that was standing in front of him.
Christian hesitated then spun Betty around to look at her face, to be be certain it was actually her.

She seemed surprised and delighted by his hunger and quick handling of her, she even cooed his name.
"I guess you did miss me." she smiled up at him. It was a good sign. She thought about keeping him taugt and on a string until they had discussed future arrangements, maybe even moving in together, but by the way he was pawing at her she didn't feel the need to use sex as a weapon.
She pushed him back a smirk on her face as she went to the coat buttons and then the tie around her waist.

When she dropped her coat Christian saw that she was wearing little more than stockings and a black corset. Her body was nearly flawless and certainly something other men would fight for. Christian's mind raced with thoughts of all of the things he could do to her, all the things he'd already done to her several times over. His head wanted Betty, but his body wasn't responding as it normally would have to the blonde by now.
Christian, angered by the lack of response he was having, decided to forge ahead. Something would happen soon enough, he was certain of it. He closed the gap between them and pulled her body into his, tugging her hair until her hear tilted back and exposed her long neck. His lips ghosted over her skin for a moment before he attacked her.

Betty squealed in womanly delight as he pounced. Christian was always a wonderful lover, but his light aggression was also a sure sign - to Betty anyhow - that he wanted her beyond reason. Her real desire - that diamond ring - would be hers soon if this was any indication of Christian's feelings.
"Christian!" she moaned, but it wasn't her voice Christian would hear, but rather Diana's. The more he fought the vow, the harder the vow fought back blinding Christian with images of Diana and his more intimate moments. And then some images that didn't make sense or correlate with Christian's memory.
Diana dancing with him at a night club. Diana emerging down the stairs in a little black dress. Diana fighting in lingerie. Easily mistaken as fantasy, but why now?

Christian was confused and growing angrier as his head was filled with thoughts of Diana Crawford and his body continued to deny him the pleasure that Betty would surely give him. He gave a low growl before pushing Betty backwards onto the stairs and hovering over her, his eyes piercing hers as their mouths nearly touched.
Diana was suddenly beneath him, lying on the stairs awaiting him. "What do you want from me?" he said suddenly, though it wasn't Diana who would be answering.

"Remember!" the vision yelled at him, but it was gone a moment later leaving him with a very confused Betty.
"Christian? Are you alright?"
She frowned. Passion could be a fickle thing, but his question didn't make any sense to her, not in the way he asked her, as though he were confused and frustrated, as if he was haunted.

He was haunted; by a woman who clearly wanted him despite her vows to another man. Christian was all but certain now that Diana had cursed him. She had been obsessed with him when they were in school, and she tried so hard to please him during their week long affair many years ago. Perhaps it wasn't fate or coincidence that brought Diana to the Rusty Nail that day. Having grown bored with her marriage she clearly plotted to obtain the object of her desire from so long ago.
He was already dealing with so much, and now to cursed to see only Diana when he thought of another woman... But simply seeing her wouldn't stop him.
Christian ignored Betty's concern and kissed her, holding his body up slightly as he hovered on the stairs over her. More images of Diana that didn't seem to make sense: kissing on a tropical beach, exchanging simple bands on a ship at night in front of a sea captain, lying in bed as she slept with his hand caressing her stomach. Christian continued to paw at Betty with no response from his body until the visions became too much and he pushed himself off of her and yelled to the heavens in frustration.

Betty wasn't sure what was going on, though she was thoroughly in the moment with Christian's actions, but it soon became clear he wasn't enjoying himself.
Her concern increased as she looked up at him, and when he yelled she backed away clearly startled.
"What on earth is a matter with you?!"

But it wasn't Betty who asked this very reasonable question. It was Diana and Christian took her concern as mockery.
"Get the f*ck out of my house, you bloody witch! Get out of my f*cking head!" His face was red, verging on purple as he screamed at her.

Betty didn't have Diana's constitution, as Christian roared at her she scampered to get her coat and barely threw it over her before running out of the room.
She didn't know what the hell had just happened, but clearly it was not the least bit what she had expected.
As soon as the door slammed shut Diana's image also faded, but not before sending Christian a superior look.

Christian screamed after Diana's image until it was gone and only the dark wood door with the decorative glass panes remained. He breathed heavily in anger before starting to pace as he planned his revenge on Diana. His movements slowed and his lips curled into a sadistic smirk before he returned to his office and found his communication mirror.
"Where is Diana now?" he asked, and when he had the information he wanted he left the house for immediate retribution.

"Well done." Diana said as Christian's man, Danny, put the two way communicating mirror down. He narrowed his eyes at Diana, and curled his lip.
"Oh hush, for what it's worth it did take me a while to figure out." she shrugged. "Don't." she hissed as Danny inched toward the wand Diana had confiscated from him.
She straightened her arm and the muggle weapon that had been lax in her hand was now taut, "You might be fast, but you'd be surprised how fast these things are." she said indicating the gun.
"Now, sit down."
After Danny did as she said she used her wand to silence him and tie him to the chair before putting him to sleep for extra measure.
Diana checked her flawless appearance once more before she left the room and sealed it, leaving four of Christian's men unconscious inside.
When she was sure she had concealed the room properly she made her way to the park where Christian's man had said Diana would be.

Christian had guessed at it earlier, but as he appeared in the public park where Diana was he was almost certain of it. Diana had a death wish. Perhaps this too was some way for her to escape her horrible marriage as her plot against Christian seemed to be, but she appeared not the least bit worried about the bounty on her head or the swarms of hit wizards descending upon her from all across the continent.
She wasn't expecting him, so he had to pretend as though this was yet another happy coincidence. Their first meeting had been orchestrated by Diana as a means to pull Christian back into her presumed pathetic life. The second had been Christian's attempt to collect her head and with it a prize that would ensure he never had to work another day in his life. None of their meetings had been coincidence, but the facade still stood as he approached her.
"Either you are stalking me or the universe is trying desperately to tell us something," he said with a charming grin.

"Or your stalking me." she said smoothly. She peered up at him, her eyes hidden by the sunglasses she wore.
"I doubt the universe has much interest in our sex lives." she smiled at him. Now that she knew he had a tail on her it was easy to flirt for information.
"Lovely day."

Christian's brow raised at her remark. "I'm fairly certain our encounters would have caught it's attention," he said of their sex lives. She might have been using supernatural powers to force his thoughts to be of only her but Christian had to admit she was the best shag of his life, and considering the sample size that was quite the compliment.
"This is a strange place to find you in. Although I suppose if an assassin dressed as a waiter showed up here they'd seem a right bit out of place."

She smiled briefly at his arrogance concerning their sex life. He had been the only shag of her life, but she knew there was no need for comparison.
"Perhaps you'd like to take me somewhere a bit more private?"

"I was just about to suggest we do something along those lines. As much fun as our past meetings have been, I was hoping to show you a proper night out." He looked up at the sky, which was still quite light. "Or day out, as it were. Are you hungry?"
