(Sean, Dan, Kryshna, Alana, Angelique, Healers, Etc.)
Portkey was an awkward way to travel under the best of circumstances. But when it had to be done with three people carrying three injured people, it was really very impractical. The Floo network was decided to be better, but only marginally. But with the charm on Hogwarts preventing Apparation, there really weren't any other choices. So, one by one, Rutger, Sean and Angelique stepped into the fireplace carrying their patients. Sean had insisted on carrying his brother, so Rutger had reluctantly surrendered Alana to Angelique, so that he could take Kryshna. If he could have, he would have carried them both at once, but he didn't really want Alana that close to Kryshna, even though Alana was unconscious and Kryshna under a body-binding spell.
Rutger, of course, went first, followed by Angelique. Almost immediately, Rutger stepped out of the fireplace and began barking orders at the first person he saw.
"We need three healers, quickly!" he shouted. "This one's a vampire, she was impaled on a piece of wood, but it didn't pierce her heart. She'll need blood, and I think she's still got some splinters in her chest. I need her alive, she's my prisoner... Why are you still standing there? I also need a poison antidote, and we have a vampire bite...."

Diana had been sitting in on a rather quiet night in St. Mungo's. She had healed a gnome bite, put antidote on a salamander sting and put a case of Dragon Pox under isolation watch with medication, as she didn't want a case of that spreading around again. At the time that the group had come through the fire place, she had been sitting near the reception table, going over charts and drinking a cup of coffee. The quiet night had bored her, yes, but she was enjoying a moment of focusing. A moment that was quickly interrupted by the sudden influx of people and a man barking orders around.
Diana quickly jumped into action, calling for stretchers and attendants to set up rooms for each person, a couple of rooms for multiple patients that could all be attended to by nurse staff, and separate rooms for the more severe cases.
When she heard Vampire, her eyes looked up at the man shouting orders.
"Vampire? What do you expect us to do with that? We don't heal vampires."
She growled slightly at the thought of having a vampire in the hospital. If there was one type of being that she despised, it was Vampires. Probably had something to do with her father dying to them.
She just sighed, though, and grabbed one of the stretchers with a woman on it. She looked over the woman quickly, then noticed the man that had been shouting orders was sticking close to her. She had a wound on her stomach, but it was nothing more than a simple scratch. But Diana could tell it was more than that. She could see some festering beneath the skin and the way the woman was moving showed that she was in a great deal of pain. Diana took a quick look over the rest of her. There was some bruising, possible a sprain or cracked bone, but nothing that should have caused her that much pain.
Diana looked back up at the man as she was preparing an I.V. for the woman.
"You said poison? What type? Spider, or some other natural poison, or a potion type poison?"

"Well, you're going to treat this one," Rutger said rather rudely. "She's a prisoner of the Ministry and I need her alive so I can interrogate her."
At that moment, he really didn't care about the hospital rules or protocols or whatever... He had chased Kryshna too long to let her die now. Not when he still needed information from her.
"She'll need to be kept in an isolation room, preferably with a window or an enchanted window... Charmed to look like it's always daylight. She should be restrained, held down, kept in a body-binding spell... whatever it takes to keep her from moving."
He turned his attention to Alana, and his expression softened, as did his voice. "The poison is called Vitae Agony, made from magically enhanced vampire blood. To cure her, you'll have to drain some blood from the wound site, give her an infusion of fresh blood, and then inject an antidote into the muscle. She'll need a fresh injection every eight hours for a few days. The antidote... I don't know what it's called, but I can tell you what's in it."
With effort he looked away from her and nodded toward Daniel. "He was bitten by the vampire, but I don't think he lost consciousness at all, so I think he'll be fine with a blood replenishing potion and an anti-vampire potion."

Adrienne was sitting behind the reception counter catching up on paperwork. On slow nights like this, she liked to help the medical staff with their filing and such, just trying to make their lives easier.
But it wasn't meant to be a slow night for long, she realized. Suddenly, a large group burst in, and her eyes snapped up. Diane was on the scene already, and while she took charge, Adrienne got to her feet and started paging the mediwizards she knew were available or just making their standard rounds. Kieran, Lydia, Danielle, Galen, her on brother, Chase. What worried her was that she knew Chase, and she knew he'd want to take the vampire, being the sort of surrogate father to everyone else.
Then she started assgning rooms so the doctors would have somewhere t go.

One word got Chase out to the lobby quicker than anything else... Vampire. He didn't even need to know why they were treating a vampire (They did all kinds of things like this for the Ministry), he just knew he needed to get That creature into isolation and away from the other patients and staff.
Looking at the scene and assessing everything happening, he just.... took charge. "Danny, I want you on the girl. Take Diane as an aide." And the man who had brought them all in, since he obviously wasn't going to be told no. "Lydia, you take them," he said, nodding to Sean and Dan. "Call Adrienne if you need help. You two," he said, looking at his remaining mediwizards. "Unless you object, with me."
He did a quick check to make sure the vampire was immobilized before taking her. They went downstairs, a floor to themselves, and an isolation Ward.

Danny didnt need Chase's quick orders. She had already come up to Alana, now already on a stretcher thanks to Diane. When she heard Rutgers name the poison, she sighed. This wasn't the first time they encountered this poison. "Diana, talk to Adrienne, get the Reynold file from her.. she'll know which one." They had lost That patient, but she was hoping his file might be a use here.
Taking Alana down the hall, she exchanged a glance with Diane, listening to Rutger take charge. She was slightly annoyed, but said nothing as of yet, and instead focused on her patient.

Diana was irritated at the prospect of having a vampire on the premises, in isolation ward or not. That... thing was a danger to everyone in the hospital, especially with all the blood around. She was at least glad that Chase was there to deal with it so she didn't have to. And this man, Rutger, shouting orders like he knows how a hospital works.
At the mention of the Reynold file, Diana raised a brow, but nodded. She headed over to the receptionist desk quickly and requested the file. As soon as she had it in her hand, she quickly rushed after Danielle, reading off the file as quickly and clearly as possible. When she got down to the outcome of the poison, she paused.
"After a week.. of horrific pain, the patient... died."
She looked down at Alana then back up at Danny.
"Um... says here that we need a blood transfusion and purification. What were these people doing?"

Lydia, meanwhile, had barely even arrived on the scene when Chase was directing her to her patient. She made her way through the chaos of healers running this way and that, her eyes focused on the patient, and not on the man carrying him on a makeshift stretcher.
"Well, boys, it looks like you're with me. What happen--Sean!" she said, looking up at him for the first time. "Never mind, we'll talk about it later... did I hear something about a vampire bite?"
She began to levitate the stretcher and led them off to the room Adrienne had assigned them to, forcing herself to focus on the task at hand. Seeing Sean right now in the midst of all of this, looking almost as pale as the actual patient, had her a little more worried than she wanted to admit, but she was a professional. She would take care of her patient first, then check on Sean. "Is this your brother?"

Sean had to admit, he was greatly relieved when he saw Lydia walking towards them. Truth be told, he was on edge enough about everything that happened that he might have just asked for her as it was. Luckily, he didn't need to.
His whole body relaxed, however briefly, when she looked up and recognized him. But the tension crept back as business mode seemed to take her over, and he nodded, following her. "Yes... a vampire bite. His blood wasn't drained and the worst of it seems to just be blood loss. I don't think he was turned or anything, but I don't know what else I should have been looking for. I uh... I wasn't there when he was bitten. He'll be okay though, right?"
It was Daniel. He couldn't help but worry, even if they assured him he was the least grave of the three brought in. He took a breath and nodded. "Yeah... this is my brother." His brother, who would probably tease him about Lydia when this was all said and done with.

Lydia was already starting to know him well, because she could immediately tell that the part that upset him the most was the fact that he hadn't been there when his brother was bitten. She could understand that. How many times had she wished she had been there when her family had the accident? Maybe she couldn't have stopped it, maybe she would have been killed herself. But there was nothing worse than not having control of a situation while someone you loved was hurt and feeling like you could have done something about it.
"If he wasn't drained, and he didn't drink any of her blood, he should be fine," she assured him with a gentle smile. "Although, he might be a little sensitive to sunlight for a while. He'll need to wear sunglasses, and keep his skin covered as much as possible. It'll fade eventually."
Once they were settled in the room, Lydia immediately went about getting some supplies. "I'm going to give him a blood transfusion to start with," she said. "If I start with a blood replenishing potion, it'll just multiply the infected blood cells, and I'd like to start clean to minimize the effects of the bite. Are you the same blood type?"

Later he would realize how he must have appeared, yelling instructions to the hospital staff, his German accent thicker than usual from agitation, and he would feel badly about it. But right now, he was worried and panicked about all three patients. He needed Kryshna alive for information, and he felt extremely guilty about Daniel being bitten... not that it was his fault. Kryshna had refused to fight him, and instead had gone after the others. He should have been the one injured. Who would miss him if he was gone? But the answer to that question was lying on a bed right in front of him. Alana. Obviously, she was the one he was most worried about. He knew the effects of that poison. He remembered all too clearly the agony he had suffered, and it positively gutted him to think of her in that kind of pain. He was also aware, of course, that she very well could die. After she told him that she loved him. A long ago memory threatened to resurface, but he forced it down and focused on the two Healers who were treating Alana. "There is an antidote, too. It breaks down the poison... but it works slowly. If you don't have any, I have a sample back at my hotel that I can bring you. Also... a pain killing potion might help... a little." He sighed and ran his hand over his face. He was so tired, and he knew he wouldn't sleep until he knew Alana was going to be all right. Or not even then. Without even thinking, he reached out and took Alana's hand in his, once again struck by how small her hand seemed in his. "Please... help her," he said softly.

Danny quickly assessed her situation. She had a relatively green aid, as far as emergencies like this went, and an overbearing family member of the patient... or so she assumed. He sounded like he knew medicine at least, but she wasn't going to put up with him barking at her. "Diana, I need you to set up an IV transfer." Sometimes the muffled had the right idea. "And a painkilling potion." She used her wand to cast a local anesthetic as well, just trying to control the situation before she dove headfirst into it. "Sir, I need you to back up... please stay out of the way."
Still... she had listened to him. While Diana set up an IV, Danny set a sample of Alana's blood spinning in a magical test to determine the blood type. While that was happening, Danny too a breath.
She needed to start the blood drain to get rid of the poison in her system, but she wanted the fresh blood on hand. It was a delicate process. "Tell me what happened," she said, watching Diana once the type was determined. "How long ago was she exposed to the poison."

For a man like Rutger, who needed to feel in control of every situation, this was all very frustrating. If he could have treated Alana himself, he would have. How could he trust that these women knew what they were doing?
But he reluctantly gave Alana's hand another squeeze and stepped aside, sinking into a chair a few feet away. He should have been checking on Kryshna or Daniel, but he needed to stay with Alana. He couldn't do everything, and so he made his choice.
Danielle's question took him by surprise. He had lost all sense of time. It could have been hours, or mere minutes. Glancing at the clock and seeing it was after midnight, he answered, "About an hour... or 45 minutes. I'm not sure... I couldn't get her here sooner... I don't think a lot of the poison entered her system, if that helps. And if she needs blood... I'm O negative. Universal donor, yes?"
He'd empty his own veins if he had to, but he didn't say that. He was pushing again, but it was just because he was so desperate to help her.

Most would have used their wand or some other type of magic to make sure the IV was correctly placed. But Diana, after having watched her mother for years, preferred doing it by hand. She felt she always had a better judgment and delicacy to it by doing it by hand. It only took her half a moment to get the IV into Alana's vein and to make sure the correct medications were injected into it.
She turned to Rutger. "If you could get us a sample of the poison, or the antidote you spoke of, she should be just fine." The man before her seemed to be the type that needed to do something, feel like he was helping in some way, and being right there with the girl was not going to help. So, she gave him something to do, hoping that it would help him feel better, and them do their jobs.
Diana waved her hand above the wound, muttering a spell. the area around the wound and a few inches away from it turned a deep green color, showing how far the poison had spread.
"It hasn't gone far, Danny. She shouldn't be in too much danger, as long as we get the cure in the next hour or so."

Sean nodded to her, listening carefully so that he'd be able to help Dan when he was released. "That's a relief to hear," he told her. Whether or not she could pick up on it, there was an unspoken comment that it was a relief that she had been assigned to them as well. Lydia made Sean feel like everything would be taken care of and under control, and that alone did wonders for the boy. He nodded quickly to her question, easily understanding why she asked. "Yeah, we're the same type. And I'm willing to give however much you need." He was already rolling up a sleeve, just waiting for her to tell him what to do. He should have asked her if she knew how Alana was- but as cruel as it may have been, the woman just wasn't a priority to him right then. She was here, and being taken care of, he was sure, and that was all that currently mattered. "Thank you, Lydia. For taking care of him. I mean, I know it's your job... still..."

"There may be no need... we have the antidote we used on the Reynold case in our preserve room... refined, of course. Have someone bring that to us, with a full analysis." She turned to Rutger again. "You said you knew what was in the antidote... take a quick look at ours and see what we're missing. It will be quicker than sending you to get a sample, if you even have one." Actually, Danielle assumed if he had one, he would have it with him. Judging by the personal that was here, she figured this was a meditated event... they knew they were going after a vampire. "Hurry," she stressed to Diana. She didn't care if the girl got it herself or had a nurse grab it, or Accio'd it- she just needed it. Truthfully, she didn't care how far the poison had spread. That wasn't important at this point. She glanced at the blood sample that was now flashing it's type at her, and then at Rutger. Really, his blood should have been tested first, or she should have gone to the store she had and used that, but she knew that the pain was only going to get worse and worse for the girl on the bed. She nodded Rutger over. "Slide your chair over. I'm going to prep you for a transfusion."

Daniel's body was sore. Naturally, after anyone who had been flung through a thick heavy wooden door and hit the floor would be sore. He was still aware of what was going on and he observed what was going on around him. For the first time in his life, Daniel didn't know if he was going to make it out completely alive earlier. Of course, he didn't fear his job. He knew exactly what he signed up for, however, he never expected vampires to be in that equation.
Luckily the vampire didn't suck his blood, but it was still going to be a mark for a little bit. He did lose blood, which was exactly why he was here. If he hadn't lost blood, he would have been just fine. Daniel didn't like hospitals all that much.
He watched the interaction between Sean and Lydia. Oh did he have something to tease Sean about now. "Thank you," Daniel finally spoke up. He looked up to his brother. "Are you blushing a little bit Sean? I think you are." He couldn't help it. It was only natural of Daniel to make such a comment. Even if they were about to face their death, or even on their death beds, he would probably crack something like that. In his tired state, he gave Sean a slight smirk as he tried to fight his tiredness.

Now it was Lydia's turn to blush. Being a medi-witch, she was rather used to being mostly ignored by patients and family members who had other things on their minds than thanking the person who helped them. She didn't get thanked a lot. But then, Sean wasn't like anyone else. He noticed her and made her feel... not so alone.
"You're welcome," she said, giving him another smile. She smiled more around him than she ever did, and she wondered if he knew that. Maybe one day she would have to tell him.
She finished gathering the equipment she would need for the transfusion and walked over to him, holding up a rather sharp needle. "But let's see if you're still thanking me when I stick you with this."
She was dabbing Sean's arm with an alcohol-soaked cotton ball when Daniel finally spoke, and it was lucky that she wasn't holding the needle at that exact moment. She blushed even more deeply than before and lowered her eyes to concentrate on her work.
After a few minutes, she had Sean prepped for the transfusion, and she made her way over to Daniel to do the same. "It's nice to finally meet you, by the way. I'm Lydia."

Rutger had already berated himself for not bringing the antidote with him. He should have been prepared for this. he was usually prepared for everything. This time he hadn't been, and it all came back to his conversation with Alana before they left. He'd been distracted, and now Alana was paying the price.
He couldn't lose her, not now....
"I do have a sample... I could apparate to my hotel... it's here in London..."
If Alana could see how flustered he was right now, she would have teased him, he was sure of it. He needed one of her jokes right now. Or just a smile.
But at the mention of a transfusion, he was on his feet, rolling up his sleeve as he walked over to the Healer. "Whatever you need, I'll do it."
Of course, what they probably really needed was for him to leave them alone to work, but that wasn't going to happen. He wanted to be here with her, just in case...

Alana was aware of people around her, as she could hear them talking. She couldn’t make out what exactly they were saying, but she could hear them. The next thing she noticed, even without opening her eyes were the lights; she squinted despite still having her eyes closed.
When she did open them, she realized she was lying down. It didn’t look like her hotel room… then she remembered what had happened that night. Had she passed out? She must have; she remember Rutger kissing her and then…nothing. She assumed that’s when she lost consciousness.
She lifted her head up slightly the best she could to look around, and saw Rutger with a woman. That’s when the first wave of pain hit her; it wasn’t unbearable, but she knew it would only get worse.
“Rutger.” she said softly, wondering if he even heard her. The pain was getting worse with each breath she took. She remembered what Rutger went through, and she was starting to wonder if she would be able to get through it. She had to, for Rutger. If she kept thinking of him, maybe it would distract her from how she felt. She thought it was worth a try, if anything.
