The previous professor had set a somewhat loose lesson plan, basically detailing what was to be taught within the school year. However, it failed to mention in what order each subject would be taught. Always one for proficiency, Carlisle set to work on creating a steady lesson plan for the duration of the time he would be filling in. He carried this lesson plan with him as he entered the Charms classroom, setting it on the large desk in the front of the room. Carlisle pulled his wand from his pocket and gave it a lavish swirl in the direction of the blackboard. Slowly his name appeared in a swirl of chalk dust on the board; Professor Macrae. The printing was large enough that it could be read from the farthest back seat, but small enough that he had room to scribble about on the rest of the blackboard as his lecture required. The room itself was ready for him and so he had very little to do before the students began to file in. He sat at the front desk and looked over his attendance sheet, awaiting his pupils.

Gage walked into class, and almost turned on his heals to leave, not wanting to be the first one there. But he thought it would be rude, especially if the teacher had seen him. So Gage rolled his eyes and took a seat in the back corner of the room.
"Hey Professor...Macrae," Gage said. "Gunna be a good lesson today?" He asked. As his friends would say, his California/American accent was strong today, and he hoped it would fade a bit as the day went on.

Ah, his first student. Carlisle smiled at the boy as he decided whether or not to come in. The boy eventually did and Carlisle chuckled softly to himself. "Yes, young sir, I do believe it will be. Might I ask your name?" He gestured to his attendance scroll he was holding, quill in his left hand ready to mark his name.

"Gage," Gage said, adressing the teacher with a 100-watt smile. "Gage Oliver." Gage then sat back and pulled out his sketch book, beginning to work on one of his sketches as he waited for more classmates and maybe someone to talk to.

"Well, Mr Oliver, I believe you have earned," he looked at the house patch on the boys school robes, noting the blue lettering and the eagle, "Ravenclaw ten points for being first to class. I enjoy punctuality. Make a note of it." He let the boy doodle while the others followed in behind him.

Bek had fittingly died the end of her short black hair scarlet, like her house colors, before heading off to Charms class that day. With a note tightly gripped in her hand, she walked into class and headed straight to the teacher's desk.
"Hello Professor," she said kindly. "I came to Hogwarts late this term, so my name may not be on your atendence roster." Bek handed him an approved note from her parents explaining her absence that September. "My name is Rebecca Caldwell." She winced after saying her first name. "But i much perfer Bek."

Carlisle gladly accepted the note and read it over. Finding everything satisfactory he said, "alright Miss Caldwell. I'll add you to the roaster. Thank you." He jotted her name down at the end of the scroll. "Please take a seat. Class will begin shortly." He was certain about that. In all his years as a substitute professor, he had never once started a class late.

Maxi walked into class with a little bounce in her step. She saw that the teacher was talking with a Gryffindor girl, so she went and took a seat in front of the only other student there.
"Hey," Maxi turned and greeted the Ravenclaw boy, her blond hair flipping over her shoulder. "I'm Maxi." She looked over his arm and noticed his drawings. "Those are pretty good." she said. "Best I've ever seen."

Before he could even finish with Bek, another student had walked in. A Hufflepuff girl. She seemed to be in a pleasant mood, which usually made for a more eager learner. This pleased Carlisle. He wanted very much to have a great first lesson in Charms. "Pardon the interruption Miss, but could I have your name please?" Again he gestured to the scroll in his hand.

"Maxi Borale," Maxie said to the teacher with a smile. "And no, Maxi isn't short for anything," she added. Then she turned back to the boy and awaited his reply.

Gage looked up at the blonde Hufflepuff girl in front of him, and, noticing that he and one other girl were the only people here, she must have addressed him.
"I'm Gage," Gage said quietly. He wasn't shy, he just had a quiet voice. "And thanks for the compliment." he smiled.

Severus walked into class, he was set to learn more foolish charms. Charms he thought, felt like magic that was for a lark or a gag. He reasoned while there was some useful charms, summoning small birds or making things dance wasn't going to be his cup of tea. He grabbed a seat and sat down.

"Nice to meet ya Gage," Maxi said. When she saw the Gryffindor in the front turn around, she realized it was her friend Bek.
"Bek," she said, waving her arms and trying to get her attention. "Bek come sit with US!"

Bek heard the calls of her friend Maxi and laughed as she saw her waving her arms over her head. She walked over and took a seat with Maxi and another Ravenclaw boy she didn't recognize.
"Hey Max," Bek said, reaching up to put her friends arms down because they were still waving around. "Glad to know you're makeing you're makr in class early this year. What are you going for? Crazy or simply excentric?"
Then she turned to the boy behind Maxi, noting that he was probably the other part of Maxi's "us."
"Hi I'm Bek," she said kindly.

"Gage," Gage said with a wide smile. He had been laughing at Maxi's grab at attention and began to draw a cartoon of her waving her arms around.
"Nice to meet you," he said to Bek, who, besides the bright red streeks in her hair, seemed more relaxed than Maxi.
Gage decided that the two girls and himself would be a fun group.

Natalie Speller entered the Charms Classroom happily. When she entered she saw a few people were already there. Natalie walked up to the Professor. "Er... Professor Macrae? I got a note saying that is okay for me to start charms late as I wasn't here in September. And befoer you ask my name is Natalie Speller, you can call me Nat for short if you like."
Natalie looked around the classroom. She decided she wasn't going to sit next to anyone in the classroom at the moment and took a seat at the front. She hoped someone would be friendly and come and sit next to her and talk.

Carlisle took down the names of the students as they came in to the classroom and checked them off on the attendance. He then checked the clock, he would give five more minutes before starting class.
A Gryffindor girl came up to the desk and handed him a note. It seemed a few of the students had missed the start of term. This was off-putting. Carlisle had the utmost respect for education, and apparently there were parents out there who had a more lax view. "Alright Miss Speller. Thank you." He tucked the note into the top drawer of his desk, next to the note from Miss Caldwell.

Remus was in such a good mood, he was almost whistling. Ever since the guys had confronted him about his secret and got him to admit the truth, he'd been feeling so much lighter. He was no longer burdened with a truth that he feared would cost him everything.
Entering the classroom, he nodded at the professor and wondered once again where Lucie was. She seemed to keep disappearing for months on end. But then, he supposed, it was probably difficult to balance being a teacher and an auror at the same time.
He slipped into a seat close to the wall and waited for James, Sirius, and Peter to arrive.

Narcissa slipped into Charms quietly. It was nice to know that she patched things up with Andi, but of course she would have to hide if from Bella. From time to time, Cissa felt like she was two people, but she knew that it was for the best.
Noticing that Severus was the only Slytherin in the room, she slid into the seat next to him. "Hello Sev," she said with a smile. "I feel like I haven't talked to you in a while. How are things?"

James walked in Charms with confidence. Things have been going well. Lily hadn't yelled at him in awhile, Robin was becoming one of his closer friends, and things with the guys were still the same. Things couldn't have really been better at the time being.
He noticed that there was a new professor in Lucie's place. James slid into the seat next to Remus. "Hey Remus. I'm glad to see you in a good mood."
