James basically strutted out of the school and down to the lake to meet up with Remus or Sirius. Peter hadn't really been seen lately and frankly, James could care less. He just took him in, because after all, he said that he'd do anything for him, and Peter was also in Gryffindor, so it was the least he could do. James reached the lake. The way the sun glistened off the lake reminded him a lot of the way the sun shined on Lily Evans' hair. She was so pretty. James smiled to himself. He would ask her to go to Hogsmeade with him this weekend. Hopefully, she would say yes to his offer. All he would really have to do is just turn on his charm and act nice to her, and hopefully, he could just win her over.

Sirius wandered down to the lake, hoping to meet up with James and Remus. It had been a hard day, and he was feeling particularly bored. He hoped James would have some good ideas for things to do. He also hoped he could see Kris again soon, it had been a while since he'd seen her. He smiled to himself as he thought of her.,
As he got to the lake, he saw James already standing there against the tree. "Hey, James, what's up?" he said, grinning.

James brought himself out of his thoughts, and a smirk came across his face. "Well, hey Sirius," said James. "Just trying to find something to do. You know, the usual. What about you? You're looking pretty happy."

Sirius shrugged. He wasn't about to let James know he had just been thinking about a girl. "Oh, nothing much," he said. "Just looking forward to getting out of here this weekend. You seen Remus around?"

James raised an eyebrow. "Nah, I haven't seen him around. I wonder where he is," said James. "I know he's probably still sad about Sabrina. I hope he gets back to normal soon. It's not the same without him."

"Yeah, really," Sirius said. "I mean, it was sad what happened to Sabrina... It shouldn't have happened. But Remus can't keep mooning over it, you know? He's got to live his life." He laughed slightly. "Hey, that's what we should call him... Moony. Kinda suits him, don't you think?"

James laughed. "Moony. It does sort of suit him. We'll have to tell him sometime when we see him," said James. "So, Sirius, what about you and Kris? How are you two?"

Sirius shrugged. "I don't know. I haven't seen her yet. I wasn't able to write to her all summer, I think she might be mad at me. But my mum had me practically locked in the house all summer. I can't wait to get out of that place."

"That crazy lady? You should have owled me or something. You know that I could have came and tried to get you out," said James. "You know, mum and dad like you, so of course you're always welcome at the house. I don't think Kris would be mad at you mate. Just tell her what happened. Maybe she'll be glad to see you," he added with a grin.

"Yeah, I tried, but I couldn't even get an owl out of the house. Mum set up some barrier or something to keep me from communicating with anyone." He groaned. "Maybe I just won't go home at all this summer. It's not like they want me there or anything. They just lock me in cause they know it makes me miserable." He leaned against the tree and threw a rock into the lake. "So, what do you want to do?"

"Exactly. More reason to come to Godric's Hollow," said James. A smirk came across James' face. "Well, you know. Maybe mess with ol' Sev for a bit. That's always fun. Possibly place a few dung bombs in Slughorn's office. What do you think?"

Sirius grinned. "Hmmm, yeah, I like the dungbombs idea. That could be fun. Oh, and you know that chair of Slughorn's? The one at his desk he's always fussing about? We should do something to his chair. Like make it so it'll turn to the little wooden chair while he's sitting on it. Bet that thing would break under his weight!" he laughed. "Hmmm, and I'm always up for bugging Snivelly. Got any ideas?"

"Hm. I like it. We could use the cloak to get to his room. Hopefully he'll just be in his office, but the cloak is just a security measure to make sure we're not caught this time," said James. "Well, I guess it just depends on what Snivelly is doing at the moment. It'll be more fun that way." James grinned. "Oh. I plan to ask Lily to go to Hogsmeade this weekend with me sometime today, or maybe tomorrow. What do you think?"

Sirius laughed loudly, sounding almost like a bark. "Man, you gotta be kidding me. Lily can't stand you. You'll never get her to go to Hogsmeade with you." He gave James a pat on the back. "I know you like her, man, but if you keep trying so hard, you're just gonna look like an idiot. Come on, there's tons of other girls around. How about Rori? She's cute. Or that cute little red-haired Hufflepuff girl. What's her name... Robin."

James sighed. "So what if there are more girls in the school? They don't really catch my attention," he said. "You know that. I don't understand why she doesn't like me. I don't care if I look like an idiot. One of these days she'll come around and go to Hogsmeade with me. If I ask her and she shoots me down, I'll go and ask that Robin girl if she wants to go. She seems pretty cool."

Sirius grinned at him. 'Who knows? Maybe if you stop trying so hard with Lily and maybe start spending time with other girls, maybe Lily will be more interested then. Some girls don't want to be chased, you know? They want to be the one to do the chasing. Redheads especially can be hard to predict."

James sighed. "I guess. Although, I'll ask Lily to go to Hogsmeade with me in Potions tomorrow, just to see what she says. Like I said, if she says no, then I'll just attempt to stop trying so hard. I can't make any promises, but I'll try."

"Well, good luck, man," Sirius said. "But for what it's worth, if she doesn't like you, you shouldn't knock yourself out over it. It's her problem, right?"

James nodded. "Yeah I guess," he replied. "However, I'm not giving up completely. I'm just backing off a bit. She'll come around sometime or another, hopefully. I still can't figure out why she doesn't like me. What have I ever done to her? Argh. Girls. They're so confusing!"

"Yeah, they're good at that," Sirius said. "They decide they don't like you, and it's hard to get them to change their minds. Don't worry, man, it'll work out."
