James shrugged. "I dunno. It has to be something no one would ever think of. Maybe a saying? The teachers are always telling us that most of the time we're up to no good, so maybe something like that?"

Sirius grinned. "How about this? We could have the password say, 'I solemnly swear I am up to no good.' And then... what if, to clear it, so it just looks like a blank piece of parchment, we said something like 'Mission Accomplished.' Or... I know... 'Mischief Managed.' What do you think?" He laughed at his own cleverness.

James grinned. "I like it Sirius. I like the Mischief Managed better," said James. He gave his friend a pat on the back. "Maybe we should tap on the map with a wand. You know, it's like a secret thing, say if someone else gets it. If they say the password, then they know everything. But say the 'I solemnly swear I am up to no good' and tap on the map as well, like a spell. And to make it go blank, they have to do the same, but just say 'Mischief Managed' instead. Now all we need to do is figure out all the secret passage ways, draw the map, then charm it."

"OK, yeah. That works. Then we just have to figure out how to do the actual charm." He thought for a second. "Maybe we could use a charmed pen of some kind?"

"That works. Maybe when we go to Hogsmeade we can look for one. You two are going to Hogsmeade this weekend too, right," asked James. "Maybe they'll have one. If not, then we can make a trip to Diagon Alley."

"Yeah, I'll probably ask Kris to go with me," Sirius said. "How about you, Remus? Are you coming to Hogsmeade?" He almost asked if Remus would be going with anyone, but he held back, remembering that it might be a sore subject for Remus, after what had happened with Sabrina.

Remus shrugged. "Yeah, I'll probably go to Hogsmeade this weekend," he replied. "Maybe I'll just hang out with Peter or somebody." He tried not to sound depressed, but the thought of going without a date, especially when both James and Sirius were planning to ask girls to go with them, made him think of Sabrina. Of course, he told himself, the chances that Lily would actually agree to go with James were pretty slim. It was well known that she did not like him as much as he liked her.
"Anyway, I'm sure it will be fun," he said lamely, with a feeble attempt at a smile.

"Of course it will be fun," said James with a grin spread across his face. "We'll go into the Joke Shop of course. This time Remus, you'll get to pick out most of the joke stuff we can pull. We've got to get your creative side working again! What do you say?"

"Yeah, Remus," said Sirius. "We gotta get back to the way things were last year, when we were just having fun and playing pranks on people. We totally have to start messing with Snivellus... he's had it way too easy lately."
