Skye watched as Coda walked ahead of her toward the cave. She wasn't normally one to move quickly, but she knew it was important that she find the others. She sniffed the air, hoping to pick up Karl and Chloe's scents. After a minute, she was able to pick them up, and she knew they were close. "Karl! Chloe!" she called.

Chloe heard Skye yell for them and she looked to Karl and started to run in the direction of Skye's voice. She finally met up with her. "What's wrong," she asked.

Karl heard Skye calling and hurried over to her along with Chloe. "Yeah, Skye, what's going on? Where'd Coda go?"

"She went to her cave to find some clothes. But listen, we have a bigger problem. Ashura's been kidnapped! I think it was another pack leader... we have to rescue her!" Skye looked at them worriedly. "This could mean another pack war..."

Chloe groaned. "What's the purpose of kidnapping Ashura? Her brother maybe, but why," said Chloe. "We have to tell Zander as soon as we can."

Coda walked back to the others wearing a dress that was tight and short on her. It was the only thing she could find that fit somewhat.

Karl separated Skye's simple dress from the pile of clothes in his hands. "Yeah. Here you go. I was gonna get cleaned up first, but I guess we better head back now, huh? Can't believe they'd kidnap Ashura. Don't they know she's under our protection?"

Skye pulled on her dress. "I don't know. But we didn't exactly do a very good job of protecting her last night. Although, I'm not sure what we could have done. Pearl and Zander needed to stay with Remus and Kris, and we couldn't just leave those wolves attacking Coda." She sighed and looked over at Coda. "That will be fine," she said. "You just need to look decent enough to walk through town. Come on, we must go. Karl, you should get dressed."

Karl pulled on his pants and tattered shirt, then slipped his arm through Chloe's. He didn't say anything, but he was rather proud of how Skye was taking charge. She no longer seemed like the fragile girl she had been when she was in Greyback's pack. He started to walk back toward town when suddenly, the sound of footsteps approaching brought them all to a standstill. "Who's there?" he called.

Dawn walked toward the sound of the voices up ahead, and as she stepped into the small clearing, she felt a stab of fear. What if these were not the people she was looking for? She turned to the man who had spoken and looked at him carefully. "Is one of you named Zander?" she asked.

Chloe glanced at the girl and didn't recognize her. "I'm sorry, but no," she replied. "We were going to go see if we couldn't find him. Is there anything we can do for you?"

Dawn looked at the woman. "So... you know Zander?" she said, frowning slightly. She tried to remember the names of the other pack members that Ashura had mentioned, but her head began to hurt again. "Um.... Is one of you... Chlo....ee...?"

Chloe nodded. "Yeah, I know him," she replied. Chloe watched her as the girl looked like she was trying to remember something. "I'm Chloe." She looked at her curiously.

Dawn relaxed slightly. "Oh, good. Um... my name is Dawn. I'm a member of Gretchen's pack. My pack leader took one of your people prisoner. Ashura. I don't really understand it, but she said something about Gretchen wanting to kill her brother because he killed Buck, our pack leader."

"Hmm," said Chloe. "We were going to go find Zander for that reason anyway. Skye saw her take Ashura, and we were going to go see about trying to rescue her. You could help us out a little then, that is if you don't mind. You can come with us to find Zander, and then we can tell him about it. Could you tell us were it is you're staying?"

"We have a camp on the other side of the river," said Dawn. "I shouldn't come with you, though... I don't get out much, because I get headaches and sometimes I black out. The pack keeps a very close eye on me, it was lucky I could get away. They will come looking for me."

"My name is Dawn," she replied. "I just wanted to let you know where Ashura was, and why they have her. I don't think it is right to kidnap people and tie them to trees. It's not Ashura's fault what her brother did, she shouldn't pay for it. Buck... he could be cruel sometimes and... well... maybe if her brother killed him, he had a good reason. I think...." The memory started to resurface again, as she remembered a flash from long ago. "...something... happened... I remember..."
Her head began to hurt again, a sharp pain shot through her head, and the world began to spin. Then everything went black as she collapsed on the ground.

Karl saw the girl falling and tried to catch her, but just missed. She collapsed in a heap on the ground, but he quickly scooped her up in his arms. "We gotta take her back to your place," Karl said. "We can't leave her here, and we can't bring her to her pack, because if we're going there, we really should try to rescue Ashura, and we're not ready for that."
