Madam Pomfrey returned with the equipment she needed to help Cyrus. "OK, everyone, I need a little space, if you don't mind," she said gently. She understood the importance of the family reunion... everyone was terrified and worried. But she needed space to take care of her patient, and he needed a little room to breathe.
Turning to Cara, she said, "I need to give him this potion. Can you help me by lifting his head up so I can get him to drink it?"

Cara nodded, glad that Poppy wasn't forcing her back. She couldn't leave Cyrus. Her mind was on Roland and Jamie, and she could barely force herself to nod, coming forward and lifting her son's shoulders and head up a bit so he didn't choke on the potion, hoping none of the rest of the family saw the tears of worry in her eyes.

Madam Pomfrey managed to get the potion down Cyrus's throat with his mother's help. When she was satisfied that he had taken enough of the potion, she lowered Cyrus back down on the bed and began to hook him up to an IV, similar to how she had done with Maxi. This one was to hydrate his system and cool off the burn left behind by the fire. She also included a potion that would help repair some of the damage, along with a pain killing potion that would enable Cyrus to be more comfortable.
When she was done, she smiled at the rest of the family. "He'll live, but he's going to be pretty sick for a while. Please, try not to crowd him, OK? He needs his strength."
Then she hurried over to Andromeda and Ted. "OK, dear, what happened here?"

Amandine watched Madame Pomfrey pour the potion down her brother's throat with her mother's help. As she watched, she wondered if anyone had contacted Lina. Probably not, being that the only one's who would were herself, Jamie, or Roland. She watched Cyrus for a moment before standing up. Mara deserved to know her daddy would be okay, just like Ama did, even if she was only 9 months old and didn't understand.

Liam was just watching, like he so often did, and he saw the slight shaking of Aunt Cara's shoulders, the hitch in her breath, and the way she wouldn't look at anyone.
He let go of Sheena and caught his father's attention. "Dad... she needs you," he said quietly, for Judah's ears alone."
It was Amandine that got his attention next, standing up rather randomly. "Ama, are you okay?"

Judah watched as Cara and Poppy made Cyrus drink the potion. He still couldn't help but worry for his nephew, however he kept a calm expression. He had to attempt to keep Cara calm, like Mathieu asked.
At Liam's words, Judah nodded. He knew that, he just wanted to give her a moment to herself. He walked forward and put an arm around Cara's shoulders. "He'll be just fine," he said, offering to keep her calm.

Hayden just stared at Cyrus' body. If he would have stopped him from leaving, none of this would happen. Naturally Hayden probably wouldn't be able to stop his cousin because each of them were just as stubborn as the next. Sighing, he looked to his father and Aunt Cara, then to his siblings and Amandine.
"I need to start helping Madam Pomfrey. Cyrus will be alright Aunt Cara." He more or less had to say those last words just to help convince himself. Hayden offered a gentle smile and then ruffled Liam's hair then he put a hand on Sheena and Amandine's shoulders. He gave another gentle smile to them, then headed over to an occupied bed to help heal the injured.

It was Amandine that got his attention next, standing up rather randomly. "Ama, are you okay?" "Um," she said to Liam. She wasn't sure what to say really. "Yes, I'm...I'm okay, I just have to...have to do something, I'll...be right back, promise," she said before heading out the door and up to the owlery.

Liam didn't even flinch when Hayden mussed his hair. He was kind of used to it, afterall, but his attention was on Amandine. She really shouldn't be running off, especially now. Besides, he thought with a sudden gripping terror, what if she was going back to look for Jamie?
"I'll be right back, Sheena," he said, leaving them to follow his cousin. "Ama," he called. "Where are you going?"

Ama froze mid-step when she heard Liam call after her. She turned on her heels and faced her cousin sheepishly. "The Owlery," she said honestly. "Lina and Mara deserve to know about Cyrus," she added.

Liam just looked at her for a moment and then nodded. "You're right, they do." Lina and Mara were a mess that he didn't understand. Why Lina wasn't a Ferrera yet, and why Mara wasn't legitimate yet, was hard to grasp. It seemed the only people that understood it were Lina and Cyrus.
"Let me come with you," he told his cousin. "I don't think any of us should wander off alone right now."

Amandine smiled, glad that Liam didn't argue with her. "Alright," she agreed. No one should be walking alone, even if it was Hogwarts. "Come on then," she smiled again.

Post by Ashton Lane on Feb 3, 2009 3:18:38 GMT -5
When Ashton stared up at the long journey he would have to make his eyes returned to the dead weight he was currently supporting. Their transfiguration teacher was thankfully young and slim and Ashton was surprisingly strong for his youth, but it was still a difficult trek up to the castle. Not once did he think of leaving her behind.
He thought about how he had come upon her as she crawled out of a burning building. A building that had once been the tea shop. He had remarked to himself once that Allaire would probably like something from that store seeing as how she had enjoyed the apple cider he had gotten for her before. He had intended to surprise her next time with a variety of teas to go along with her book reading, but ...there wouldn't be any tea for anybody anytime soon. It was an entirely depressing thought.
With nowhere but forward to go he had helped his teacher who promptly fell unconscious after just barely escaping the burning building and thought about how that one act had been his bravest and most noble act of his life, it hadn't even occurred to him not to help her even though there was danger to himself. Perhaps Allaire and her Mr. Darcy were having an effect on him, perhaps he wanted to be a man she could be proud of.
He had of course convinced himself that she was fine, either at the castle or home for some reason, he wouldn't even entertain the thought that she could have been hurt, and not entertaining in those thoughts were what got him up to the Hospital wing.
"Help Please..." he said short of breath, " She's been badly burned." he glanced around for help from any corner he could find.

Hayden helped another student with a few quick incantations and let them rest. Madam Pomfrey were running around attempting to help the other injured students whenever he noticed a boy bringing in a blonde headed woman. He took her to be a teacher, but nevertheless, Hayden ran over.
"Let's get her on this bed," he said helping the boy. Hayden did hear that she was burned, but he wasn't sure of any other injuries, but he was going to make sure that he covered everything. He murmured a few incantations to make sure that the burn was starting to be healed. "I'll be right back with a potion."
Hayden disappeared to where he noticed that Madam Pomfrey kept her potions. Once he grabbed the potion, he hurried back out to the woman. "Can you hold her head up gently while I get her to drink this?"

She was just holding Ted's hand and whispering words of love that she doubted he could hear. When Madam Pomfrey approached, Andi looked up at her, wiping at her eyes. "He was hit with the Cruciatus curse, twice," she said, her voice thick. "He's been unconscious ever since the second one."

Madam Pomfrey nodded. There wasn't a whole lot that could be done for the cruciatus curse. It inflicted no permanent physical damage. Occasionally, it left nerve damage, which could be partially fixed, and mental damage, which could not. The only real way to know the extent of Ted's injuries was to wait until he woke up. Until then, all she could do for him was give him a potion that would ease the physical pain left behind.
"OK, I'll be right back," she told Andi. "I'll do what I can... but he's young and strong. I'm sure he'll be fine."

"I'm going to hold that to you Adelaide," Peter said still smiling. He knew that she was fighting, and Peter admired her for that. "I think that we'll have a lot to do to keep our minds off of things after you get out of here." He wouldn't forget the screams he heard, but it would be nice to have things to do, or just Adelaide to be around so he wouldn't really think about that. " If I get out of here." A two second look around should that the hospital wing was still filling up, and it was getting more and more crowded by the second. There were people who needed to be here much more than Adelaide. She wasn't bleeding, and even though the room was a little blurring and wouldn't stay in one place, she wasn't passing out. It seemed she might be the best off of all the people in here who needed help, and it was selfish for her to take up space for only a head injury. Somehow, over the noise she heard Lily's voice and even though the girls weren't friends, she was glad to see Peter's friend was safe. She found Lily talking to James and as she turned to look around some more she saw from the corner of her eye that Lily had fallen. James had put her on a bed, how he managed to find an empty one Adelaide wasn't sure. "Peter, I think Lily's hurt too." Though Adelaide had not been crying for some time, the tears came back as if they'd never gone. The tears didn't help clear her vision. Again she wondered why this was happening and when it was going to be over. A professor had just been brought in unconscious and Adelaide knew it wasn't over yet.

"You'll be out of here soon, don't worry," said Peter squeezing her hand. "I'll stay here with you for however long you're in here." He gave her a smile.
Peter also heard Lily and James talking, and he was about to get up from his chair but James picked Lily up and got her on a bed. He clung to Adelaide's hand. "Lily will be just fine," he said. He wasn't sure who it was to assure more, himself or Adelaide. Peter looked back down to her and noticed her crying. Instinctively, he reached over and started to wipe her tears away. "Don't cry Adelaide," he said softly. "Everything will be fine, I promise."

She could hear children crying and speaking in frightened tones, but she couldn't even bring herself to look around at the rest of the room. It was too much, too painful. So much damage had been done today... people injured, children hurt and killed, buildings destroyed. And for what? Did the death eaters really have that much hate in their hearts? It frightened her, deep down in her soul. It just didn't make sense to her. And it had to be stopped. She glanced up slightly and saw the Ferrera family gathered near a bed not far from where she was. She couldn't see which one was lying on the bed, but she could take a mental tally of which family members were missing. She couldn't imagine what they were going through. As it was, she couldn't help but worry about Narcissa, and about Sirius and even Regulus. A part of her wanted to worry about Bella, but she had a sinking feeling she knew where Bellatrix had been. Sighing softly, she lifted Ted's hand up to her lips and pressed a kiss against his palm. They had wasted so much time, all because she had been so stupid and refused to forgive him. She hoped he woke up soon so she could tell him that she was sorry and that she'd never leave him again.

Madam Pomfrey returned a few moments later with a pale, fizzy lotion in a glass. "OK, dear, let's see if we can get him to drink this, OK? Hold his head up and I'll start pouring."
Andi shifted over so she was sitting on the edge of the bed and lifted Ted's head up, holding him, as Madam Pomfrey poured the potion down his throat. After a minute, it was done.
"There you go, dear. Hopefully he will wake up soon so we can see if there is any permanent damage.
Then she hurried over to Peter and Adelaide. Recognizing the professor's daughter, she let out a soft gasp. "OK, dear, what seems to be the trouble here?"
