Cyrus stood by the Black Lake, his beautiful girlfriend Lina stood next to him. She had come to visit, while she was on break from school and this was their favorite place to go. Suddenly out of nowhere the silence was broken by a masked figure apparating in, quickly pointing his wand purple fire issued forth and seemed to engulf Lina, himself and everything in his vision.
Screaming, his eyes flew open and Lina's name flew from his lips. Realizing it had all been a dream, he noticed he was in the hospital wing at Hogwarts, and it seemed the entire Ferrera clan had come to visit. Seeing his mom leaning over him, smiling weakly he looked up at her. ".....Mum...." The words seemed pained and he lacked enough energy to say anything more, laying there he looked around at the others and felt slightly ashamed for being so weak.

Adelaide was simply overwhelmed and didn't know what to do. It was an unusual feeling for a Ravenclaw, and even more so for the child of a Hogwarts professor. She was used to having the answers and at the moment all she had was questions, most of which could never be answered. She let Peter wipe her tears away and was comforted by his gentle touch and soft words.
Even more comforting than Peter's sweet touch was the appearance of Madame Pomfrey. "Umm," she looked at Peter first, then back to Pomfrey. "I hit my head here," she touched the spot on the back of her head, which was still sore. "I'm a little dizzy, and things get fuzzy from time to time."
And it hurt too, but she didn't want to admit just how fragile she was in front of Peter. He was so brave and she was the complete opposite. He stayed in the midst of danger to protect everyone else, people he didn't even know. And she just wanted to run, and she kept crying. She wanted to be brave like Robin and Lily were. That was the kind of girl Peter deserved, the rest of his group seemed to be able to find those girls. And poor Peter had only found weak little Adelaide.

Amandine smiled, glad that Liam didn't argue with her. "Alright," she agreed. No one should be walking alone, even if it was Hogwarts. "Come on then," she smiled again. Liam nodded and took his cousin's hand, walking with her to the owlry. Her father and to of her brothers were still in Hogsmeade, and he knew how she felt... His mother was missing, and it scared him. But here she was, wanting to tell Lina. "Do you think she'll come?" Liam asked as they finally made it to the owlry.

Her brother in law's words of comfort weren't really helping. She hadn't seen Roland in Hogsmeade... that worried her. Where had her son been during the attack? She should have run into him, at least once. And Jamie... Jamie was too young. She couldn't do this, and squeezed her eyes shut, gripping Cyrus' hand. Her eyes shot open when he yelled, though, and she was just relieved that he woke up.
"Shhh, Cyrus," she said, smiling at him and ignoring the fact that it was Lina's name he called. "You're doing fine."

Ted didn't want to wake up. His jaw hurt where the Death Eater's foot had connected with it, on top of the two Cruciatus curses and one that he had never seen before, the one that felt like a thousand knives cutting his body open.
But something was pulling at the back of his mind, not letting him sleep any longer. It occured to him that Andi might still be in danger, or that he might still be in danger. He was awake before he opened his eyes, listening and assessing the situation. He knew he wasn't dead... there was still too much panic in the air, and death was supposed to be peaceful, right?
Finally, he swallowed and cracked open his eyes.

At the sight of Ted's blue eyes, Andi felt like an invisible hand was squeezing her heart, then releasing it, allowing her to breathe again. She broke into a watery smile. Squeezing his hand tighter with one hand, she reached down with the other hand and tenderly brushed a hair from his temple. "Hi, Ted," she breathed. "It's OK... you're OK. You're in the Hospital Wing. And I'm not leaving you."
Never again, she thought to herself. Not even if he tried to push her away again. She knew now that they were worth fighting for. Without him, she felt empty and incomplete. And now, by his side, she felt like she was home.

Ted blinked. That was actually a lot to take in for having just woken up, and he did, in fact, miss most of it. He got that he was in Hogwarts, and really, that was it. But his eyes held hers, and he could see that she was worried. About him? That, he couldn't say for sure, but he did know that she was still here with him, instead of just dropping him off here and running away.
He smiled and took his free hand to reach for her, brushing her cheek. "You're beautiful," he said, feeling like it was the most important thing he had to get out.

Andi wasn't sure whether to laugh or to cry. It was so good just to hear his voice and see those beautiful eyes looking up at her that it almost didn't even matter what he said. But if he thought she looked beautiful, maybe there was something wrong with his mind or his eyes or something. She was sure she must have looked like hell, her hair a mess, scratches and cuts all over her face, and her eyes swollen with tears. "You're delirious," she whispered.
Still, she leaned down and kissed him on the forehead. "I love you."

"Well now I think I am delirious." He had been pretty sure he was lucid until she kissed his forehead and said she loved him. His brows creased and he struggled to sit up, despite how much that hurt. The potion he was given helped, though.
He looked around the hospital wing to see chaos, though a smaller degree than had been in Hogsmeade. His eyes turned back to Andi. He couldn't be dreaming.
"I'm not dilusional. But you're still here."

She shook her head quickly and put one arm around his back, holding him up. "Be careful," she said. "Don't sit up too fast. You were hurt pretty badly."
She honestly didn't see or hear anything or anyone else but him in that moment. It took at the strength she had not to throw both arms around him and lose herself in his arms. Merlin, how she had missed him. What had she been angry about? Why had they fought? None of it seemed to matter anymore. All that mattered was that he was alive and he was here.
Brushing her lips across his temple, she said softly, "Of course I'm still here. Where else would I be?"

Ted wished his brain was moving a little faster, that his body didn't feel so sluggish. He found himself thankful that she was sitting on the edge of the bed... it made it easier for him, and he pulled her into his arms with no hesitation. He didn't know what happened, what had changed her mind, but he wasn't going to question it.
He held her to him, one arm around her back and the other tangled in her hair. "Don't go," he whispered. "Stay with me."

Andi was surprised by the strength of his arms as they wrapped around her. A few moments ago, she had been worried he wouldn't recover and now he was holding her. But she wasn't about to complain. Instead, she shifted slightly, so he could hold her better and put her arms around him. "I'm staying. Just try and make me leave," she said, smiling at him. "Oh, Ted... I'm so, so sorry. Can we just forget everything that happened? Just put it in the past and start over? I've missed you."

"Yeah. Of course," Ted told her, and his hold on her tightened a little bit. He shouldn't have sat up; he felt dizzy and light headed from the blood loss, and his vision was going a little hazy, so he closed his eyes and swallowed, trying to ignore it.
"I thought you'd never ask," he added. "And I've missed you too." His words were slow, but heartfelt, and he refused to let her go just in case she'd come to her senses and hate him again.

Andi gently tried to ease him back down onto the bed. "You need to lie down," she said. "You need rest. I promise you, I am not leaving you. Ever."
She kissed him softly, then wiped at his face under the pretense of wiping away streaks of blood and dirt and ash. The truth was, of course, she just wanted to touch him, just to reassure herself that he was here and he was alive and that he still loved her.
"You saved me," she said. "You were already suffering and you jumped in front of that curse for me. You were so brave."

"That Death Eater kicked my arse," Ted countered, finding he didn't have the strength or the will to fight her as she eased him back down. "It was embarrassing, so we need to come up with a better story about how this happened, okay?" He smiled. "You're clever... I'll let you come up with something, okay?"
He didn't even ask if she was okay. He knew, and he would know if she wasn't.

Andi laughed and kissed him again. "How many should we say there were? 6? 7? We can say you were surrounded by 7 or 8 huge death eaters, walling you in and leaving you with no way to fight back. And I came up from behind and distracted them. Does that sound better?"
She lay down next to him, not caring about the rest of the people in the hospital wing. She needed to be close to him, to feel him next to her. They had wasted so much time, and Andi didn't intend to waste another second.
"It really doesn't matter, Ted. The important thing is, you survived. Because I don't know what I would have done if you had died."

Ted nodded a little. "Eight's a good number. We'll stick with that." He smiled at her, keeping his eyes open just to watch her. He was watching her with nothing but adoration in his eyes, worried that if he even blinked, she'd be gone again, or angry, or anything. Anything but here, laying next to him.
"I can't die, Andi. I'm invincible, didn't you know?" No, the real answer was that he would have sacrificed anything to keep her safe and unharmed. "But only when you're near. Don't even listen to me if I try and push you away again."

Andi laughed again. It felt so good to laugh... she hadn't been entirely sure she remembered how. But it was like the sun coming out after a terrible storm... everything seemed a little brighter, and things that had been impossible now seemed easy.
"Eight it is. That's what my report will say," she said. "After all, who's going to challenge me? It was chaos back there... anything could have happened." She pressed a quick, chaste kiss on his lips, wishing it could be more. But they were in a room full of injured students... she had to be discreet. The rest would come later.
"If you even think of pushing me away again, I'm just going to hold you tighter. I'm never letting you go again, I swear to you. I love you."

"I hope so," Ama said as they reached the Owlery. She found some spare parchment and borrowed a quill from Liam: Lina, Hi, it's Ama. There was an attack at Hogsmeade today. Cyrus got hurt, he's in the Hospital wing here but Madame Pomfrey said he should be okay. You should probably come, I'm sure he'd be happy to see you. AmandineShe looked at the scribbled letter thoughtfully before attaching it to a random owl and sending it on its way. "She'll come," Ama said confidently.

Liam nodded. "She will," he said, if only to make Amandine feel better. He watched the owl fly away, hoping she would, for all their sakes.
He squeezed her hand. "Come on, we need to get back to the family before they start to worry. You did a good thing, Ama."
