Jackie almost cracked a smile. Almost. He knew her too well, and she would have slipped off after Dean left.
She sighed. She remembered him bringing her here, but that was about it. She had gone in and out of lucidity so much that she wasn't sure of anything else that happened between them. Namely, she didn't remember making him promise to stay.
Jackie licked her lips. This was the first time that Reese and Sin didn't intercept him. She couldn't remember the last time they'd been alone, and just him being here was making her heart beat faster. And then broke it.
"You should go," she said again, diverting her eyes. "Please go."

"Jackie, how many times to I have to tell you? I'm not leaving. That's just the way it is. I'm not leaving." He looked at her seriously through his tired eyes. If she told him that he looked tired, he'd deny that he wasn't.
With her telling him to leave, Dean knew that she didn't remember making him promise that he wouldn't leave her. He wasn't going to bring it up, because he knew that she would probably deny it. Even if she didn't remember it, Dean was going to keep to his promise. "You can get mad with me if you want to, but I'm staying right here until you're fully better." He gave her a defiant look. "Now, just rest."

"Dean," Jackie said, groaning a little. He was being stubborn and difficult, and for the life of her, she couldn't imagine why right now. Why did he have to do this now? Why couldn't it wait until she was feeling better?
"I'm fine, Dean. I'll be fine. We're both tired and it would probably just be best if we went to our respectives common rooms and slept, right? I promise I'll sleep."
She wouldn't be able to while Dean was around. He had her so worked up and nervous and... well, he made things hurt worse. Why couldn't she have been anywhere else and just not seen him kiss Zoe?

"I'm not tired," he said stubbornly. "I'm perfectly fine. And I know that you'll be fine, but for right now, you have to just rest. Please." He was going to do what he had to to keep to his word. If that required him to be quite and let her sleep, he would.
"Just go back to sleep Jackie. Then, after you wake up and you're fully better, I'll leave you alone, alright? But for right now, I'm going to wait until you get better." He was tempted to reach up and move hair from her face, but Dean clenched his hands together to prevent himself from doing so.

Sin still had Alyx in his arms and she was much like dead weight, he hated it and he could have wrung her neck for putting him through all this but he honestly didn't know what he would do if he lost her, it was something he didn't want to think about.
The stairs were crowded and getting her to the Hospital wing was a nightmare but he had finally made it only to despair at the already crowded room, he could see down the long rows however that there were empty beds but also that the room was double the size, Merlin so many people were injured.
He began to carry Alyx down a ways when he saw her, "Jackie!" he gasped. He shifted Alyx in his arms and tried to get closer to Jackie to see what was wrong.

Samantha groaned. It was the first sign of life from her since they got her here and stabilized her but that groan was heaven to her father who had been at his wit's end staring at his pale motionless daughter.
Edward neared her and reverently his hands hovered over her body, "Sam...please can you wake up...you need to wake up..." he begged. He had already begged, cajoled, and nearly threatened her to do more than just lie there, he wasn't giving up on his daughter. He might not have known her as well as he would have liked but he knew that she was strong and that she would overcome this.
She opened her eyes barely a fraction of an inch, "Papa....?"
It broke him to hear his name from her lips and he didn't feel worthy but he took her hand, "I'm here sweetheart...right here...you're going to be just fine." he swore.
"I know." she answered, "Now that you're here."

Jackie shook her head and she wanted to argue with Dean. Part of her wanted to scream and yell at him, all the pent up anger and frustration she had been carrying around. She wanted to tell him how much she missed him, not remembering that she already had.
She looked up at the sound of Sin's voice, making sure he was okay. Realizing he was, she felt a selfish wave of gratitude. Maybe once Alyx was taken care of, he could save her from Dean.
"I'm okay, Sin," she said, blinking slowly. "What happened to her?"

"Okay..." she sobbed. Ama followed Liam out into the hallway. Unlike the Hospital Wing, the hall was quite empty and there were hardly any people around. Ama leaned against the wall oppisite of the doorway and slid down to the floor, still crying. "Jamie wasn't supposed to get hurt..." she whispered. "He...he was supposed to...to come back with...with me," she couldn't even form a complete sentence she was so hysterical. "Hey, shhh," Liam said, going to his cousin and holding her. This was hard on everyone, but he hated to see this look in her eyes. He was lucky, but it didn't seem fair that no one in his family was hurt, though he didn't know where his mother was, and hers seemed everyone was hurt, just about. "This isn't your fault, Ama, and blaming yourself won't help. I'm here... it's okay. I'll make sure Jamie is fine... I promise." After apparating back to the school grounds, Roland borrowed a broomstick from the quidditch pitch and flew along the perimeter of the castle grounds, keeping an eye out for any suspicious activity. Once he was sure the coast was clear, he sent a Patronus to Riley, letting her know that the school was safe--at least on the outside. Then he decided to check inside, to see if everything was OK. The entrance hall was crowded with students, and one of them, a seventh year, recognized him as a Ferrera, warning him he'd better get up to the hospital wing. Worriedly, he took the stairs two at a time, heading up to the hospital wing. As he approached, he heard a familiar voice in the hallway and hurried over to where Liam was comforting Amandine. "Liam? Ama? What's going on?" he asked.

"ROLAND!" Ama yelped, running from her cousin to her brother and clutching onto him like her life depended on it. "Oh Thank Godric you're okay," she began to sob again. "It's been aweful. Jamie's hurt and Cyrus is hurt, and its chaos..." More sobbing. "No one knew if you were okay Roland..." she hugged him tight.

Roland lifted her up off of the ground and into his arms. "Shhh... it's OK, sweetie. I'm here. I'm fine." He hugged her tightly. "But what's this about Cyrus and Jamie? How on earth did Jamie get hurt? Did you two get cornered by someone else on the way back to school? Shhh... don't cry..." He ran his hand along her back comfortingly and looked to Liam to see if he could answer anything while Ama was crying.

Liam got to his feet as Roland appeared and Ama ran to him. He sighed, relieved. The family would be better off seeing him finally. He wanted to ask if Roland had seen his mother, but now was not the time.
"Jamie got Ama here and went back."
He said nothing else, figuring this would be explaination enough for Roland. "You should go inside. They're all very worried for you."

Roland looked at Liam and frowned. Jamie had gone back? Why would he have done such a thing? And what the hell had happened to Cyrus?
But he didn't ask these questions. Liam was right. The important thing was to get in there, so his family could see that he was OK. If both Cyrus and Jamie were hurt, his mother was probably freaking out right now, and not knowing where he was certainly couldn't have been helping.
Of course, putting Ama down right now seemed impossible. She was clinging tightly to him crying, and he couldn't let her go. So he walked into the hospital wing, Ama still in his arms, and scanned the room quickly for his family. He spotted Cyrus in one bed, with Lina sitting next to him, and Jamie in another bed with his parents standing there, wrapped in each others' arms. His mother was crying.
Roland swallowed and moved toward them. He passed Lina and Cyrus along the way, and since Cyrus was conscious, he determined him to be OK for now. He just waved at the both of them and went straight to his parents. "Mum, Dad.... what happened?" he said.

It took Hayden a little longer than expected to get the right potions that he needed seeing because he had to wait until they finished brewing. Filling the two bottles of the potions he needed, Hayden quickly returned to Jamie's bedside.
He noticed Aunt Cara crying. She wouldn't be an any condition to help him, and Uncle Mathieu was holding on to her. Luckly Roland was there. "Roland," Hayden said with relief. "Help me and hold Jamie's head up while we get him to drink this."

Roland nodded quickly. He felt like he was being pulled in so many different directions, but at least right now, Jamie needed the help. He carefully set Ama down on a chair next to the bed, and extracted her arms from around his neck. "I'll be right back, sweetie, I have to help Jamie, OK? It's going to be fine... Please don't cry." He gave her a quick kiss on the forehead, then went over to hold up Jamie for Hayden.
His mother was still crying so hard, he wasn't even sure if she'd noticed him yet.

Out of the family at the moment, it seemed that he and Roland were almost the most stable ones. "Thanks Roland," he said as Roland held Jamie's head up. Hayden poured the first potion down Jamie's throat. "That should help with any kind of pain, then the next potion is to help heal the inside."
He waited a moment to allow the potion to get into Jamie's system and then poured the other one down his throat. "There, he should be getting better in no time. If he tries to get up, make him rest. He needs it." Hayden looked to his family, then back to Roland. "Call for me if Jamie wakes up, or if anyone needs anything, alright?"
Even though Hayden was only nineteen, sometimes it seemed as if he were a lot older than was he was. He gave Roland a tight smile before turning to another student.

After Hayden was done with Jamie, they exchanged a joyless smile, before Hayden went about helping some of the other patients.
Roland leaned in to check on Jamie, who was still unconscious, and he gave his little brother's hand a squeeze before turning back to his parents. "Mum, Dad... the battle is over," he said.

Jamie was faintly aware of the liquid that had been tipped into his throat. The effect of the awful- tasting potion pulled him through a bit. He considered himself to be a bit light sensitive, the light seemed to be blinding him with his eyes closed. Jamie shifted uncomfortabley in his bed, and squeezed his eyes shut, trying to block out the utter shock of the light. He really just wanted to sleep, but it was so loud. 'Where was he?' was a question he'd like answered. But even more then he wanted to know that, Jamie wanted to know if Scarlette was alright.

Ama nodded as her brother sat her down. Her eyes were sore from crying so much. She looked around for Liam, not sure where he was at the moment. "Liam?," she said, her voice hoarse. But her parents were talking to Roland and no one seemed to hear her. She looked back to Jamie, her hands were trembling.
Ama saw Jamie shift in his bed and squeeze his eyes shut. "Jamie..." she said quietly, putting her hand on Jamie's arm. Ama shook her head, maybe she imagined it.

Mathieu finally noticed Roland standing there, and felt as if an enormous weight had been lifted from his shoulders. He wasn't about to let go of Cara, not while she was still crying, but he had no doubt that, once she saw Roland, she would feel a lot better.
"Roland!" he said, gripping his oldest son's shoulder. "Thank Godric... we were worried sick about you!"

Sin's arms were quivering a bit, not that Alyx was heavy but that he had carried her all this way and was just now letting the adrenaline go. Seeing Jackie however boosted that adrenaline, he needed to get Alyx to a bed and then figure out how many more of his friends were injured. He looked around but the closest bed was farther down the hall and he didn't fancy having to travel back and forth, "Geminio" he said pointing his wand at Jackie's bed, another bed duplicated right next to it and he finally set Alyx down and sighed, "I'm not sure." he answered her, " What happened to you?" he asked sitting and taking her hand.
