It was usual for Daniel to show up at the club on weekends. During the week, he usually was easily found either at his place or the Hog's Head as long as he wasn't working on something.
This weekend was free as far as Daniel knew and going to Spellbound was on his mind. He knew that Sean would more than likely show up too. Daniel figured that he would get an early start to the club. When he got there, there was only about a handful of people. He took his usual seat at the bar and smiled at the bartender. The bartender already knew his drink, so he had it ready for him quickly.
"Thank you," he said with a nod of his head. Daniel took a slow drink. There was no sense in drinking a whole lot just at the beginning of the night. He turned around and surveyed the people already there.

By the time Sean made it to the bar, his drink of choice was already there. Where you found one Leviner, the next was usually soon to follow. They could, and did, operate on their own, but they worked better as a team. When they were sent of seperately, they usually worried about the other.
Sean had been working today, by himself and in the office. He had been called out on one minor incident, but otherwise nothing exciting happened.
Knowing Daniel would be at the club, he came after going home and cleaning himself up a bit.
"Hey Dan," He said, sliding into his seat and nodded a thanks to the bartender.

Daniel grinned as he saw Sean enter the club. If they weren't together, one of them wasn't too far behind the other.
"Hey Sean," he said. "Figured I'd get here a little eariler than usual. Thought I would really get to see what people came in. I think as of right now you're probably the most interesting person in here. Although, don't let that rush to your head." Daniel grinned at him teasingly. "Maybe we'll have some kind of fun tonight. What do you think?"

Sean rolled his eyes. His brother gave him compliments like that, but alwas followed them up by warning him not to let it go to his head. He never did... if either of them would, it would be Daniel anyway.
"I think we'll have fun. I've been working six days straight... I'm ready for a day off. We're early, though. Someone interesting will come in." And chances were, it would be a pretty girl they would both be interested in.

"The best thing about coming in early, you get to see who comes in rather than coming in later and while you look around, people giving you weird looks." Daniel gave a slight shiver at that thought. He had his share of odd looks and sometimes from the wrong women.
"How'd today go for you?"

"Or at least have our pick before everyone else. Besides, no one has ever given me weird looks." Sean flashed a grin at his brother, and took another swallow of his drink.
His eyes swept the place again, and often strayed to the door. "It was a slow day, thankfully. Some twelve year old witch got mad at her sister and caused a bit of choas in a muggle neighborhood, but that was easy enough to deal with. Did you enjoy your day off, you lazy bum?"

"That you've seen dear brother. I bet you people have looked at you weirdly behind your back."
Daniel shook his head. "At least it wasn't that bad. Plus, you had something to do rather than just sit in the office." A grin spread across his face. "Of course I enjoyed my day off. I haven't really slept as long as long as I did in awhile. You'll enjoy your day off too next week." Daniel gave a stretch. He slapped Sean on the back. "I'm well rested for tonight, that's for sure."

"Well, that makes one of us. Unlike you, though, I'm still young and can handle a few nights of no sleep," he teased his brother. In fact, he ribbed Daniel constantly about being an old man, even though he was only two years older than Sean.
"Hey, she's cute," Sean said, nudging Daniel as the door to the club opened and a small group of girls came in. He was looking at one on the right.

"Oh, you think you're funny," said Daniel shaking his head. "I could beat you in going without a few nights sleep. We'll have to find out who can stay up longer one weekend or something." He was used to the teasing about being an old man.
He looked to the door and glanced at the group of girls walking in. Daniel's eyes went to the girl on the right was well. "Yeah, she is cute," he said agreeing. "Why don't you ask her to dance or something in a few minutes. If she doesn't go for you maybe I'll give it a try." Daniel grinned widely at his brother before taking another drink.

Sean laughed. "Don't get your hopes up, old man."
He watched the pretty girl for a moment, then turned his attention back to his brother and his drink. Daniel always, in the end, came before any girl. Sean would just never admit this.
"I was supposed to tell you that we're being sent out next time Hogswarts has a Hogsmeade weekend. Since that girl died, they're amping up security wherever the students go."

He just rolled his eyes and took to his drink. The girls, at the moment, wasn't Daniel's priority. Like Sean, he always thought that his brother came first. Sean was his weakness and he was sure some of their enemy probably knew this.
"So, I'm guessing that it'll be next weekend that we work? That'll be fine with me." Daniel wasn't ever really around kids, however he was going to do his job and protect them. He was sure that they weren't going to go around and hold hands with them as the students walked around Hogsmeade, but he was going to make sure that he did keep an eye out. "They should amp up security. Kids shouldn't have to deal with stuff like that. It's just wrong."
Tonight shouldn't be about work. Daniel gave Sean a sideways glance. "Tonight we won't worry about work. Tomorrow we can talk more about it. Agreed?"

Sean nodded. "Yeah, I'm sorry. My mind's still there, I guess."
It was something of an agreement between them that they left work at the office. Sean had a harder time seperating his personal life from his work, but he tried for Daniel's sake. He could leave work alone for the night.

Daniel's mind didn't really ever leave work either. Majority of the time, he thought about work, if he wasn't thinking about Sean, some girl that he met, or food. Although, Sean did have a harder time thinking about other things than he did.
"Don't apologize. I'm still there too, but tonight we can attempt to cut back, right?" He grinned. "Besides, we have to have some fun. All work and no fun makes us both on edge and there are going to be a few other people in here that probably wouldn't mind some kind of company, right?"

"Yeah, probably," Sean replied, drinking more of his drink. It was like butterbeer for adults. He let his mind linger on the day, and the girl at the school who had died for just a moment longer. There was a winding down process for him that usually a shower and the club helped with, but it was worse today for some reason.
He assumed it was one of the reasons they only sent him out for big things with Daniel, if they could help it. They were good at dealing with each other.
"Anyway. Heard from dad lately?"

Daniel tried his best to help Sean relax. He let his mind wonder in his work too long, and Daniel tried to help him at least take his mind off of it for a little bit. One couldn't get wrapped up in his work too much or it would eat away at them. Naturally, Daniel had worked on several cases that ate at him, but he attempted to hide it.
Working with Sean seemed to help him work through what they were doing, of course Daniel seemed to make it up as he went.
"I haven't heard from dad actually," he said. "I guess he's still working on that same case he's been working on lately. He'll probably owl soon."

(Since neither or their aps mentioned him dying)
"Yeah, guess so. You know how he gets when he's working." They went for long periods of time without hearing from him, and he imagined it drove their mother insane as well. Which reminded him, they should visit her soon.
He ran a hand through his hair, letting his brother take lead of the conversation.

"Yeah. Maybe he'll be done soon. Who knows, he maybe home just in time for Christmas. Mum would be happy if he would make it on time this year." Last year, their father didn't get home until Christmas evening. The year before that, he didn't get home until the day after Christmas.
"Shall we visit mum sometime soon? You know that she'll be wanting a little help with the decorations. I'm not really one for decorating, but since it's for mum I'm willing to make a good effort."

"I was just thinking about that, actually," Sean replied, a smile on his lips. "We haven't gone to visit in a while, and she worries about us and Dad. It would make her happy. Besides, you know you won't have to help decorate, anyway. I'll do it, and she'll just be happy with your company."
She was a traditionalist in many ways, and she was quite upset the one year Daniel tried hanging lights with magic. It took the spirit out of it, she had explained, trying not to cry because she had actually been angry at their father instead for not being home. Since then, Sean tried to make sure Daniel never really had to do it, since he wasn't fond of doing it the muggle way.

"Well, I can't let you do it all yourself. It wouldn't be right if I just sat back and did absolutely nothing. I can try and hang things up the way that mum likes them to be. Decorating the tree is not that hard, plus I know that she likes to have the outside of the house decorated. You left those things up to hang the lights up with out on the house, didn't you? If you did leave them out there, I can hang them up no problem, or maybe I should say with little problem."
Daniel did have little bit of a problem whenever it came to decorating, but he was still going to try to keep his mother happy. Although this year, he was going to attempt to do better. He didn't want her to be upset with him again.

Sean just laughed and raised his drink slightly to his brother. "Whatever you wanna help with. I'm just trying to make things easy on you. But yes, the brackets are still there. I'll help you untangle the lights and then maybe leave you to it. We'll see however it turns out. What are we going to get her this year?"
Actually he knew a few things she wanted. It was their father he was more clueless about.
