"If I fall off the roof, you better catch me," said Daniel. "I'll even flutter my eyelashes at you if it would make you feel good about yourself." He gave a teasing look to Sean. "I'll don't want to leave the work all up to you and mum."
He thought for a moment. "I'm not sure. I know the last time I talked to her, she was talking about how she wanted a new set of china. Other than that, I'm not all that sure. What do you think?"

Sean rolled his eyes. "Yes, you fluttering your eyelashes has almost made me all gooey and weak in the knees." He just shrugged. They would figure out how to get the lights up, and Sean would certainly keep an eye on him.
"She mentioned the china set to me, too, so I think that's a good idea." he mentioned a couple of other things that might be a good idea, and then suggested that they go shopping next time they both had a day off.

"See, I knew it!" He laughed. Some how or another, Daniel would get the Christmas lights up for his mother.
"We've got to find something for dad too. He mentioned a jacket that wanted last time I spoke to him. I dunno if he ever got it or not, but I think that would be good for him." It seemed like Sean was more in tune with their mother, and Daniel with their father. "We'll go out and buy their gifts tomorrow if you want. That way we know that we have them and get them wrapped."

Sean nodded. "The jaket it is then," he said softly, his smile fading as he thought of something, but kept it to himself. Then, his eyes focused back on Daniel and he grinned. "That was easier than it usually is. And I already got yours."
He set his empty bottle behind the bar, knowing that the bartender would be back soon with another. His eyes, once again, swept the club.
"She's looking your way."

"I already have yours too. I wasn't just plain out lazy today. By the way, don't even think about looking for it, I have it hid somewhere good." Daniel glanced at him again and then finished off his drink and set his drink behind the bar after Sean.
Sean got his attention, and he looked toward the girl, then back to him. "Nah, she's not looking at me. She's looking at you." Daniel patted him on the shoulder. "See, she's just looking by me."

Sean looked over his shoulder at the girl again to check. The girl was definitely looking at Daniel, and he smiled a little. A moment later, before he could turn back around, her eyes shifted to him as if she knew she was being watched, and he winked at her, a silent intent to get his brother in her direction... later. She blushed and looked away.
"I hid yours pretty well too, so good luck trying to find it." He chuckled. Knowing the two of them, they probably hid their gifts for the other in the same place.

He knew that Sean was looking over his shoulder, in the girl's direction. Daniel gave a glance over to Sean, but the bartender caused his attention to shift as two new bottles were placed in front of them.
"Remember last year when we ended up hiding both of our gifts in the same place," Daniel said with a chuckle. "Rest assure, I didn't hid it in the same place. It's somewhere completely different." He grinned widely proud of himself for finding a better hiding place. He just hoped that Sean didn't throw his in the same place.

Sean lauhed, nodding to the bartender. "Yeah, I remember. The only problem is that I hid mine in a entirely new place too. What do you think the chances are that we managed to think alike again this year?"
He realized his should probably just take the gift and hide it at someone else's house, or his cubby at the office. Somewhere that Dan would never be able to find it.

"I think that the chances are probably pretty high. After all, it seems like every year we end up hiding it in the same place." Daniel shook his head before taking a drink. "Although, I promise I won't go to that hiding place until Christmas Day." He raised his hand slightly as a promise.
Sean and Daniel thought alike most of the time. It could be almost scary how alike they could think. He looked over his shoulder at the girl who happened to have her head turned, talking to the girl next to her. Her friend nudged her, Daniel turned around slowly as she looked up.
"You know what Sean, I think that we need to find you a dance partner or something. I'm sorry, but I can't dance with you tonight." Daniel gave Sean a fake frown. "I'm sorry to disappoint you. We should just look and comment don't you think? Beside, I think the girl's friend behind us is going to stare a hole in my head by the end of the night."

Sean just shook his head, still smiling. “Are you trying to get rid of me already?” he asked at the mention of a dance partner. He swiveled his chair, his eyes yet again sweeping the club. More people were coming into the club now, and the dance floor was finally getting crowded. That meant there were more people to observe and comment on now.
“All right,” he said, observing for the moment, and then nodded towards a pretty girl. It was a joke, funny to him at least because he knew she was not his brother’s type at all, and she was already dancing with a guy, though, in his opinion, she could do much better.

"Never said that I was ready to get rid of you, I'm just apologizing that I can't be your dance partner for tonight because I know how disappointed you are about that." Daniel grinned. "And I said that we were just looking for girls for you. You know, potential dance partners. By the way, if you take her home, try not to just stop in the living room, okay? I honestly don't want to walk in on you." He laughed, teasing Sean.
"The girl dancing with that guy in the coat, looks like she is having the time of her life," he said sarcastically. "Maybe before the end of the night you should show her that it's not pain to dance."

Having once been a dancer, Paige always enjoyed the chance to dance. But not when her partner was clumsy, drunk, and kind of an idiot. The guy had asked her to dance and followed it up with some pretty words about her being a goddess. Paige was always a sucker for that sort of talk, even if she wasn't particularly attracted to the guy.
Now she was trying to think of ways to get away from the guy, who had already groped her a couple of times, and if he tried it again, was going to get hexed.
Looking over the guy's shoulder, she saw two boys--maybe a little younger than her, but still within her age range--looking at her. She gave the younger one a pretty smile and pleading look, hoping he would come and rescue her.

Sean smiled when the girl sent him that look. Had she not looked so pleading... or pretty... he would have just smiled and let it go.
He turned to his brother. "Think you can stay out of trouble for a dance or two?" He asked, then nodded towards the other girl that had been eyeing them. "She might need some company anyway. I'll be back."
He got up and set his drink down, leaving his brother to fend for himself as he made his way to the couple on the floor. Putting a hand on the man's shoulder, he asked politely, "Mind if I cut in?"

Daniel looked to Sean with his grin. "Trouble? I don't know what you're talking about. Trouble usually finds me, but I'll do my best." He chuckled. "Go for it and good luck." Daniel gave him a quick thumbs up before he left him to fend for himself.
He watched his brother walk up to the couple dancing and he shook his head with a smile on his face. Daniel picked up his bottle and took another drink. He looked over his shoulder after taking another glance toward Sean, and looked at the girl who walked in eariler. He gave her a smile.

Paige's dance partner staggered slightly and mumbled a drunken protest, but Paige gave him a light hip-check. "Yes, you may cut in," she replied with a flirtatious smile. She moved away from the guy, who might have been OK-looking when he was sober, and closer to Sean.
"Thanks for saving me from him. I was getting a little tired of his grabby hands." She began to dance, her hips swaying to the music. "I'm Paige," she said, introducing herself. "And who might you be?"

Nat caught the boy she had been eyeing smiling at her. It seemed he was bolder when the other boy was gone... was it more confdence, or something else? Either way, she supposed it didn't matter. She just wanted to have a little fun tonight, and he was cute.
She smiled back, still dancing with her friends, and lowered her lashes in a flirtatious way. She finally beckoned him over with a finger. If he was going to shy about it, she wouldn't be.

Sean, his training kicking in a little, watched the other man to make sure he was actually leaving.
"I'm Sean. It's a delight to come to your rescue, Paige," he said, smiling, and settling to be more at ease when the man disappeared into the crowd. He loosened up and began to dance with her.
"Not your boyfriend, I take it?"

Just before Daniel was about to turn his head, he noticed that the girl beckoned him over. He couldn't help but chuckle. "Would you mind holding these," he asked the bartender. The bartender nodded and put his and Sean's drink behind the bar. "Thanks."
Daniel stood up from his stool and walked over to where the girl was dancing. He got closer to her, but not too close. "Mind if I join you?"

Nathalia raised an eyebrow, seperating herself from her friends just a little, and smiled coying.
"Not at all. I thought you were going to stay up at that bar all night, actually." Her friends seemed to see what was happening and left her alone.
She extended a pretty, manicured hand. "I'm Nathalia."

He chuckled. "I wasn't actually going to stay there the whole time," Daniel said. "I was just talking with my brother and seeing if we couldn't find him a dance partner. I was planning on coming over and talking to you after Sean found somebody."
Daniel extended his hand and shook her hand. "Nice to meet you Nathalia," he said polietly. "I'm Daniel."
