Jamie stood above the lake, holding the squirming girl on his shoulder, and contemplated while chuckling slightly. He bet Scarlette would try and take him in. If he tossed her in lightly, not only would she not get hurt, but he could run. But the transition in to the tossing position posed tricky. Instead, he took one last breathe before asking, "give up?" with a wicked grin. He doubted it, but it was worth a shot.

"No," Scarlette said quickly, trying to figure out how to get a good hold on him. He was holding her wrists, and she was at an odd angle to wrap her legs around him, but he would have to let go of her at some point if he were going to toss her in,
Her eyes narrowed slightly. "Do it," she whispered. "I dare you."

Jamie hated that she dared him. Jamie was always the safe one, the level- headed, quiet one. Almost like Roland, but not to a point to what Jamie saw as overdoing it. He sighed, a weighed the options as much as he could.
Out of no where, he dropped Scarlette quite randomly into the lake. He was so surprised, he forgot to moce. Jamie didn't remember a time that he did anything without thinking everything through severely.

Scarlette let loose a very colorful word as she hit the ice cold water, but she was true to her word and had kept fistfuls of Jamie's shirt in her hands. It was enough to get him off balance and bring him into the lake with her. "Oh, Godric, it's freezing," she said, already pulling herself out of the lake.
"All right, I have to keep in mind that you respond to dares. Got it. I am so getting you back for this."

"Does that mean that I won?" Jamie watched her pick herself up and out of the lake. He was giving her a big-eyed look, completely unaware of the frozen ice swirling around him and the small sniffle he had developed. "Really?"
Jamie lifted his sleeve and wiped in across his eyes, although it didn't help much. His sleeve had been in the water for longer then his face, and it retained quite a bit more water. He gave her a half grin.

"No!" Scarlette protested, finding that the air was actually colder out of the lake. "It just means I'm too cold to move to fight back." In other words, yes, he won. But she was freezing.
She turned back and looked at him. "What are you doing? Get out of the lake!" She laughed, but didn't go near him to help. He'd probably just pull her back in.

"That means I won," Jamie shot her a full grin, happy to finally have tied the score.
He was still smiling as he pulled himself out of the water, shaking around. Jamie made little raindrops fall in every which way, hitting Scarlette lightly. He pulled out his wand and mumbled a quick drying spell, in repayment for dropping her into frigid waters.

Scarlette gave him a look, but by her own terms, he had won. She was freezing, though, and it wasn't a pleasant feeling.
"Ought to steal your robe," she muttered as he dried them both, though she wasn't really angry. Actually, she admired that he didn't back down.
"It would keep me warmer. I think you cheated."

"Are you implying that you aren't strong enough to face the cold by yourself? I think you should give me a few more points if I give you my cloak. Because it's like you lost extra," Jamie teased, still in complete awe that he was talking so much. It was like he was a whole new person. "I cheated? How?"

Scarlette's jaw dropped and she turned around, hitting Jamie in the arm. "Lost extra? That's not funny. Or clever." She wasn't really angry at all. Just that had surprised her.
"You cheated because it was supposed to be a snowball fight. Not a drench the other person first fight."

He gave her a big smile before taking off his cloak and throwing it at her, "I won't take extra points for it. I'm doing it because you look cold and it's my fault." Jamie had thought a bit about where he was supposed to be, looking for Ama or something. But he didn't care.
"And I don't believe that's cheating. First of all, you dared me. Would you like me to go back on a dare?" He asked smiply, starting to head back towards the castle to find a hot beverage. "And second, snow's water. You would have gotten wet anyway."
