"I like dark corners," she told him, raising her eyebrows to match. "They're good cover for doing dark deeds," she teased, though she wondered now how much of their teasing like this would last before it turned into anything. She didn't have to worry about Dean. He was patient and kind enough that she knew he'd wait forever for her if he had to.
"I was thinking about the potato soup too."

"I see we have the same mind set," he said with a playful grin. Of course he was just teasing. He gave her a wink. Of course, he would wait with Jackie, because he didn't want to rush anything. Teasing was always fun, and that was wait was going to be done for right now.
"The potato soup is pretty good, but then again I love potatoes anyway. I could eat them all day long." Potatoes were probably one of Dean's most favorite things to eat.

"I know you could," Jackie said, smiling when he said he liked potatos. The boy had more starch in his diet than anyone she knew, but it certainly didn't hurt him. Even before she knew she liked him, she always appreciated Dean's physique.
"Have you been to that theater?" She asked, abruptly changing the subject. "It'd be something to do, and it's too bloody cold outside to do anything."

"Never been to it," he said. "Never been to a muggle one either, although I think it would be pretty interesting to see." Dean gave her smile. "So, I'm up for it, besides we'll be in a dark room together." He laughed. "Sorry. I couldn't help it." The waitress had returned with their drinks. He thanked her before looking back to Jackie. "But seriously, going to the theater would be fun."

"You have quite the one track mind, Mr. Fisher," Jackie said, raising an eyebrow at him, but she could barely keep a straight face and broke into a smile.
"I've never been to the one in Hogsmeade. I have been to a muggle movie theater, though... they're actually quite fun. I just don't know what I would expect from this one."

Dean broke out into laughter. "Sorry, I couldn't help myself. That was an opportunity I couldn't give up. You just leave yourself open for comments like that." He grinned widely.
"We need to go to a muggle one too. I would like to go to one of those." He took a sip of his drink. "You never know what to expect when it comes to magic, but I should say that it would be interesting. Of course, if it's slightly boring, we'd come up with some different kind of story to keep it interesting."

"Oh, the muggle ones are fun," She said, kind of wanting to go to one of them instead today, but it was school policy and all to stay within Hogsmeade.
Then again, it was probably school policy not to jump off the roof or go hiking through the forbidden forest at night or any number of the things she and Dean had done over the years. Sneaking off to muggle London would be pretty mild for her.
The waitress came back and they ordered. She went with the potato soup... it sounded warm, at least.

"Maybe over Christmas break we could possibly go to one of the muggle ones," Dean suggested. "But that reminds me, I still need to do Christmas shopping. Want to help me pick something out for my mum sometime?"
The waitress appeared and Dean let Jackie order first. After her order, Dean requested potato soap as well as a ham and cheese sandwich. She sort of looked at him funny, but he just shrugged and looked back to Jackie. "I think that woman thought that I am possibly going to get fat. However, as long as I have you around, I don't think I could ever get fat."

"Exactly. I'll just make sure I scare all the extra weight off of you with some half-thought out plan," she said, leaning forward. "You know, if you hadn't been around for most of the things I do, I am pretty sure I would have killed myself by now."
She leaned back, the warmth of the restaurant finally seeping into her bones. "We could do some Christmas shopping today, if you like. I have to pick some things up, too."

"All your plans are half-thought out," Dean said teasingly. "Although it doesn't help that I throw some off the wall idea out at you, which I haven't half thought out either." He grinned sheepishly. "Well someone has to make sure that you don't do something completely stupid, and I thought that I would be lost without you, so I just tagged along whenever you go to do something crazy."
He started to think about things that he could get Jackie for Christmas while she spoke. "Alright. We can do that. Although, at some point I have to pick something out for you, and I don't want you peeking."

Jackie smiled almost shyly. "I already have your Christmas present," she said, looking back at him. It was something different for her, not the usual kinds of gifts she had given Dean, but she hoped that he would really like it, anyway. She'd been holding on to it for a while. It was one of those things she saw somewhere, around no particular gift giving holiay, so she was waiting.

For some reason, Dean's whole body went warm with Jackie's words. He wasn't sure if it was the way she said it or what. He had seen one of the things in a window of what he wanted to get her, but he knew that if he went into the store with her, then she would have an idea of what he was getting her, unless he was saying that he was getting something for his mum. That could work, because he had also seen something in the window that his mother would love.
"Well, we'll finish up here, and then we could go to the theater followed by shopping, or we could do it the other way around. It's up to you."

Jackie shrugged. "It doesn't really matter to me. I might be able to handle shopping easier. Though the theater would mean less time walking in the cold." She liked muggle movies, but she found it a little hard to sit still through them. She felt like she always had to be moving.
Finally, she frowned. "I know you're being all gentlemanly and such, but don't make me decide."

He knew that Jackie couldn't really sit still for too long. Taking that into consideration as she was making him pick. "Aw, don't frown Jackie," said Dean frowning himself. He reached across the table, and pulled the corners of her lips into a smile while turned his frown into a smile. "We'll go shopping and save the theater for another time. That way we can take our time while we shop. I'll even carry all of your bags." Dean carried all of her bags anyway, and he never had a problem with it.

Jackie laughed. "I can't smile all the time, you know," she told him, batting his hands away from her mouth. "My cheeks will hurt! And then I'll have to stop smiling altogether, and then what will you do?"
She nodded her agreement to his plan, not bothering to tell him she could carry her own bags. He would just end up taking them from her in the end anyway.
Their meals came out then, the sandwhich and soup placed in front of Dean, and the second soup in front of her.
It was steaming and smelled amazing. "Mmm... this looks like Heaven."

"Yes you can. You'll just have a permenant smile because your muscles will stick from you smiling. Plus, it takes more muscles to frown than it does to smile," he said. Again, he thanked the waitress as she brought their food out. He took in the smell of the soup. It smelled wonderful, and looked like it would be just as good as it smelled.
"Yes you do, but so does the food." Dean's face flushed, but he winked at her never the less. "Do you want half of my sandwich?"

Jackie found herself blushing again when he said what he did. She wasn't used to blushing when he gave her compliments but they meant something different now. It wasn't a friend being nice, it was a boyfriend telling her that she looked like Heaven, and it made her kind of warm inside.
"I'll take a bite, if you don't mind," she said, but she wasn't hungry enough to take a whole half.

Dean noticed that she blushed as well. Things hadn't really changed between them, except now that he could kiss her without it being awkward, or him having a feeling that she would slap him. He was unbelievably happy, not that he wasn't happy before, but now it was different.
"Of course I don't mind. I've never minded when you've attempted to sneak bites off my plate before," he said with a chuckle before handing her part of his sandwich.

"Attempted?" She laughed. "You always offer."
She tore at the piece of the sandwich he gave her, breaking it into smaller pieces and eating them. Even when she was sitting still like this, she had to be doing something. If it was strictly necessary, she could be still, but most of the time, she found it wasn't at all necessary.
"It's a good sandwhich," she told him. "But the soup is better."
She suspected sometimes that he ordered more food than he wanted just so that he could offer her some, and knew she would usually take him up on it.

He took a bit out of his half of the sandwich and swallowed it before he spoke. "It is a good sandwich, along with the soup. Maybe this will fill me up for awhile and I won't be hungry too soon." Dean gave a shrug before tasting his potato soup. Potato soup was his favorite soup, especially when his mother made it, but this soup came pretty close.
"Yeah, I may always offer, but sometimes you go for it before I offer, but of course I never mind."
