Thanes roommates were all sleeping heavily already so he went to answer the door and let Regina in. His bed was closest to the door anyway. He smiled at her glad she had come, he'd been afraid she'd change her mind and not come after all. Then he saw Gus and let them both into the room. "come in, is that the book you were telling me about?" He pointed to the book in her arm thinking that it was thicker than he'd expected.

Regina nodded. "Yes," she replied. She noticed that all of his roommates where already asleep. Stepping in, she let him close the door. Gus was at her feet and then she turned back to Thane. He was as cute as ever out of his school robes. Regina fought back the smile that threatened to appear on her face.
"Here you go," she said quietly, and handed the book to him.

Like a kid in a candy store, Thane eagerly took the book from her as his hand brushed hers. He tried not to look at her too much though, at least not directly. He didn't want her to be uncomfortable but he had noticed just how cute she looked in pajamas.
Thane wasn't really muscular for a guy, but even in his sleep pants and shirt it was obvious he was a good flyer if nothing else. What he lacked for in muscles, he made up for with a toned stomach and arms that cited many times carrying stacks of heavy books.

She smiled as he took the book. His expression was always what she looked forward to seeing when he was getting to look at something new. Regina walked over and took a seat on his bed. She was going to have to write about this whenever she returned to her room.
"I hope you like it." She took one glance around his room and it looked the same as she had cleaned it, except for his brush wasn't on the nightstand, it was back in the chair. "I found your brush."

Thane hadn't moved anything in his room, he'd been too afraid to mess it up... except his brush, and when she said she'd found it looked up from the book's index to grin at her. "Thanks Gina, you really are the best."
He took the book and sat down on the edge of his bed as he scanned the books index more. "What story is your favorite?"

She had laid across his bed to reach his brush in the chair and put it back on his night stand before he took a seat on the bed. Regina moved her legs to sit 'indian style' and turned her head towards him as Gus jumped up on his bed and into her lap. She started to pet his head gently as his purring began. "Cinderella and Snow White are my favorites, although it doesn't matter which one you read. I like them all."

Thane watched Gus go into Regina's lap and mumbled "Gus, you traitor" before looking for the first story she mentioned... Cinderella.... hrm.. he wondered what that one was about but he flipped to the page near the middle of the book. He put his finger between the pages and looked up at her. She was his best friend and he thought she was beautiful. Those were the two thoughts that floated into his head before being followed by a memory of what she'd wrote about him in her journal.
"Regina? I'm glad your my best friend." He wasn't sure why or where that had slipped out from. "um.. you going to sleep sitting up or are you coming over here?"

Regina smiled and picked Gus up and sat him on the floor. "I don't know. I was contemplating on which I was going to do," she said jokingly. She moved over to Thane and was instantly comfortable. "Better?" She smiled again. "And I'm glad that you're my best friend too." Tonight was a night she was going to have to write about for sure, and she really needed to talk to Hallie about it.
"Did you decide on a story?"

Thane felt much more relaxed when she scooted next to him. Much better, now he could read without having to stop when she started getting tired. But more than that, now she was next to him and it made him feel warm, happy and comfortable. "Yes as a matter of fact I did, I picked one I haven't heard before. Cinderella." He looked at her and then he shifted to pull the blanket over Regina and himself. They were not quite sitting up or laying down but instead propped against a big pillow so he could still hold a book and read, and she could eventually fall asleep without falling over.

Regina made herself comfortable under the blanket. She ended up scooting a little closer to him to where part of her shoulder was resting against his. Once she was positive she was comfortable, she let her legs relax against his and looked up with a smile. "Great. I love this story!" Regina loved being read to, and she was sure that she wouldn't ever out grow it. Her mother used to read to her when she was little, and then Thane picked it up.

Thane was smiling warmly at Regina, and watched her face. He kissed the top of her hair softly and then turned back to the book and began reading softly.
"Once upon a time in a very wealthy kingdom, a man met a woman and they were married. The woman had been married once before, and she had two daughters. The man had also been married once before, and he had one daughter. The man's daughter was sweet, kind and the most beautiful girl in the kingdom...."
He paused to kiss Regina's temple and then continued reading...

Regina didn't feel the first kiss on her hair, so she didn't let it bother her. She knew that he did it, but this time her face didn't turn red. She snuggled on underneath the blanket as he began reading. His voice was soft and gentle. It made her feel giddy on the inside as he read to her, and a smile spread across her lips as she read sliently along.
When he kissed her temple, she felt a cold chill run down her spine and she couldn't help but slightly shiver. Her face did turn slightly pink, but luckily, the light was dim and he couldn't really see what color her face turned.
As he reached the part where Cinderella's fairy godmother came along, she rested her head on him. She could feel him breathing steadily and that made her feel more relaxed. At the part when Cinderella lost her slipper and the Prince sent out his men to go find the girl it belonged to, Regina fell asleep on him.

Thane felt her relax next to him and then eventually heard her breathing even out like a soft whisper. He realized she had fallen asleep and his reading trailed off softly lost into the night. He felt himself yawn, and though he wanted to finish the story to find out the ending he couldn't help but sit quietly and watch Regina sleep with her head on him. She really was beautiful and he wanted to kiss her. He sighed softly and set the book on the nightstand without moving her too much. But she seemed to shift closer into him anyways.
He made sure she didn't wake up and then shifted himself to hold her against him for sleep. He kissed her sleeping lips very very gently, careful not to wake her. It was in that moment he knew how he felt about her. He knew he was too young to do anything about it really, but he felt it nevertheless. And there while she slept he whispered to her "..sweet dreams, my love" and he closed his eyes and was soon sleeping too.
