"Not all of my stuff is blue, but some of it is. I don't like everything to be all one color, but my favorite color is sky blue," she said. "I like things to be slightly colorful, but not too bright." She smiled. "We should go this weekend, before all the girls decide that they are going to go search for their dresses. I want to be able to choose something that I actually like instead of something that I'll be stuck with."

"Sounds like a plan, Gina. Does that mean I get to help you pick out your dress too?" He knew most guys didn't get to see their date's dress beforehand but it was worth a try for a sneak peek. He gave his best boyish-grin, the one that seemed to work so well on his mother.

Regina gave Thane a look. "Well, I'll tell you what. You can go in with me and see the one I pick out, however you can't see what I look like in it until the dance. That is the best deal I can make with you. I can't let you see what I'm going to look like the night of the dance. Where would be the fun in that?" The look that he gave her made her shake her head. She knew that look, but she couldn't fall for it completely.

Thane gave a mock pout, but then he couldn't help grinning. "I think it sounds like as good a deal as I'm ever going to get... I accept... if you'll let me buy it for you." One of the advantages of his family was their money, old money but still it was there and he only ever used it on books and he wanted to do something for her.

Regina smiled as he agreed to her deal, although it fell slightly. She couldn't let him pay for her dress. "I can't let you do that Thane. You've done so much for me already." She looked directly at him when she said it. "I mean, it's a wonderful offer to be sure, and I love the fact that you offered, but I can't let you do that."

Regina tilted her head to the side. His puppy eyes worked with her, and she couldn't help but cave. Those big blue eyes..... how could she resist? She sighed. "Thane...." He already made her smile. All the time. She found it harder to say no the longer she looked at him, but she couldn't look away. He looked so adorable. She wanted him to be happy. "Oh, alright, just don't look at me like that," said Regina caving in.

Thanes entire face lit up when she agreed and he spontaneously hugged her and kissed her cheek happily. "Thank you" He looked like a boy who'd gotten a Yule gift and was happy.

She was taken by surprise as Thane hugged and kissed her cheek. As soon as he kissed her cheek, her face reddened again. Regina gave him a smile. "No problem," she said with a little shyness. She swallowed a little nervously. It was the second time he had ever done it. "Anything to make you happy."

Thane was happy to do something for her, he just wished it could be something better. Money was easy in his family and it really didn't have as much meaning as he'd like it to and decided on another surprise for her that had more thought behind it for his trip to Hogsmede. Then Thane's eye caught sight of a book on one of the nearby shelves and jumped up to get it. "Trolls, Giants and other Humanoid Creatures," he read aloud. It was a book he hadn't read before, it must have been new. Even the cover was still pristine and the pages smelled new.

Thane looked happy because Regina noticed a sparkle that would usually be there when he was happy or excited about something. She noticed the little things, and the little things were what mattered.
She was brought out of her thoughts as he said something aloud. Regina didn't hear him but read the cover as he put it on the table. "Going to read up on Trolls," she asked curiously.

"Actually, it just that it's a book I haven't read before and it looks new. I love new books. You could always read it with me? You said you were studying creatures right? Does this one qualify? I've already read the one you are reading anyways." He could probably recite most of the book she was reading, but he just couldn't resist a new book. It was a weakness of his, and often where he spent money if anywhwere.. books. He loved the smell of a newly bound book too.

Thane had read just about every book in the Library. Of course, if Regina ever needed a book and wasn't sure if the library had it, more than likely Thane could tell her before she made the long walk. Although, that wasn't a bad thing. Regina thought it was cute that there were guys that just read to be reading, especially Thane.
"Well, I know that I'm not going to get you a book for Christmas. I'm going to have to be different." She gave him a smile. She would find him something unique. "But, yeah, sure, I'll read it with you. That wouldn't be a problem." She slid a little closer to him, which caused her leg to brush up against his, as well as her arm. Regina tried to ignore that fact that best she could.

Thane felt her against his leg and almost jumped at the electric shock it sent to his body but he thankfully managed to still himself before he jumped. Instead he left his leg there, he didn't want her to think he was afraid to touch her, since it was quite the opposite. He could feel the warmth of her next to him and he enjoyed it. There were time he wished he was older, he would probably have been more bold, but as it was he was still only just starting to notice girls and the like. But he only had eyes for Regina.
"That's okay I already know what I'm getting you for Yule, and it's not a book this time either." he had a surprise planed for Yule but he wasn't about to share that yet. It was a surprise after all. She was his best friend and he liked to surprise her. Thane opened the book to the first chapter on trolls and began reading aloud to Regina. His voice was soft but vibrant whenever he read aloud. He had a knack for making even the most boring subjects seem interesting with the way his voice rose and fell or paused for dramatic effect. He read aloud the same way he enjoyed reading to himself. Each book was an adventure to be explored and he liked to share that with Regina too.

She relaxed herself as she felt him relax. Things were not awkward as long as they were both relaxed.
Regina listened with interest as Thane started to read. She loved to hear him read all the time. His voice would change as he started to read and it always kept her interest, although it wasn't like he couldn't always anyway. While he was reading however, she also wondered what he could be getting her for Yule. Her thoughts seemed to pull her away, but then she zoned back in as he finished talking about Trolls. It wasn't that she was bored, it was just she became curious and her mind wondered.

Amadora walked past the students studying, they were behaving as far as she could see and studying. They were talking quietly so she didn't disturb them. Instead she just set a book next to Thane Scotts that he had forgotten yesterday that he'd checked out. "Thane, excuse me Regina." She nodded quietly to the two ravenclaws before interrupting them. "Thane you left this book here yesterday after you checked it out. Don't forget to take it with you this time okay?" She smiled softly and returned to her desk to carry off the books he'd returned and put them away on the shelves.

Thane blushed and quickly hid the book that was given to him. Why did the Librarian seem to think it was funny to give him that book right when he was sitting with the one girl he liked? It instantly went into his bag and then he tried to pretend it never happened and moved onto the next chapter on Giants...

Regina tilted her head with curiousity. She didn't get a chance to read the title, but she raised an eyebrow. She didn't comment however. Her thoughts had abandoned her and she tried to study his reaction. It was something that he didn't want her to see, but she didn't ask.
Thane went on reading about the giants, and she started to pay attention this time, rather than let her mind wonder.

Thane read aloud, still quiet enough not to disturb anyone else in the library. He paused when he reached the end of the chapter and looked at Regina who seemed to be listening contentedly and he continued on to Yettis, Bigfoots and Abominable Snowmen. His leg still felt warm next to hers and he felt her arm brush against him as she shifted, which made him even more aware of her. Regina was so sweet and he really did just enjoy her company and having her near. Two of his favorite things, a new book and Regina beside him, he was a happy guy.

Regina smiled as Thane continued to read. Most of the time, she absorbed the information more if Thane read it aloud, better than her just reading it to herself. She had shifted as he read so that she could remain comfortable.
As he finished, she smiled again. "Thanks Thane. That was enjoyable actually." His voice always caught her attention in any situation. He could put her to sleep if he read a book just right, or he could have her on a hook the entire time.
